He’s going to pick whoever the Republican Party thinks has the best chance of winning in 2028. Um, Trump IS the Republican Party. Lara co-chairs the party. Exactly. Trump doesn't care what other Republicans think. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else and will chose a VP based on his own personal interests ie whoever is most loyal to him, will tow his line, repeat the big lie, stay in the background and not steal the limelight or overshadow him

There is no Oprah choice, so I am out. Ha. I started to post Oprah but there were already 9 million choices, I decided not too. LOL

Ivanka.
I'm only saying that somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

Ivanka. I'm only saying that somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I think he'd prefer a more, ahem, intimate relationship with Ivanka.

He’s going to pick whoever the Republican Party thinks has the best chance of winning in 2028. If the Republican Party actually had any power, influence or control, the Party would have an actual platform, not just Donald Trump’s opinions and priorities www.nytimes.com/2024/06/29/us/politics/trump-gop-platform.htmlMemo Reveals Trump’s Plan to Slash the Size of the G.O.P. Platform In another sign of Donald J. Trump’s grip on the Republican Party, his team wants the party’s platform to be a succinct pro-Trump document, not an “unnecessarily verbose treatise.”

I think he will say he’s picking no one, he can do it all himself, for as long as possible.
I didn’t think about it until someone a few up said Ivanka. I can absolutely see that. It would be the only way he’d pick a woman.

Not Burgum !! Burgum IS a rich man, he has done well. TFG cannot have him outshine him.

It would be the only way he’d pick a woman. She's already said she is not going anywhere near politics anymore. But does she mean it? Who knows. I could actually see him picking one of his sons so if something did happen to Trump he'd have another in the wings.

Somewhere I read that Ivanka is thinking about reconsidering her lack of involvement thoughts. Let's be honest, she and her DH ended up with a very lucrative extra income.....

My guess is Burgum. Vance is also a strong possibility. But Vance is good in interviews and some find him charismatic. I think that Trump wants someone dull who won’t outshine him. But who knows? This is my thought too, he wants someone who isn’t going to steal his thunder. Vance is too outspoken and high profile. Up until a few months ago no one ever heard of Bergum. Pence was pretty much of a nobody too which is exactly what Trump likes. He has to be the star of the show.

I'm interested in why you have the opinion that you do about Elise. Sorry, but if you can’t see for yourself what is wrong with Elise Stefanik and most of the rest of the GOP these days, nothing I have to say will help any. signed, a former registered Republican Wow. I asked my question respectfully and I get snark in return? THIS is why I stay off the politics threads.

meh. I think he’ll pick Elise Stefanik. She sucks, but then they all do. Yes, I’m on my third drink now. I'm interested in why you have the opinion that you do about Elise. Stefanik was elected as a moderate. There are recordings of her negative comments about TFG. She is wishy washy... But loves TFG.. and claims all the charges are fake ..

However, in Lucy's defense, Stefanik was elected to replace Liz Cheney. She's a MAGA Republican and part of the House leadership. If you look up any of Stefanik's recent statements, it's not hard to see why someone would object to her. She's repeated many falsehoods about the 2020 election, undermined the integrity of elections and said that in Pence's place, she would not have certified the election. She refers to people convicted of crimes on J6 as hostages, she refuses to say she will accept the results of the 2024 election. Stefanik dismissed Trump's comments when he said immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country. That's just the tip of the iceberg, there is a long list of reasons to dislike her.

I no longer have the time or energy to spare explaining what is wrong with people like Elise Stefanik (who I believe is Harvard-educated and ought to … and used to … know better) to someone who refers to her familiarly as Elise and isn’t going to buy anything I have to sell, anyway.

I am not Lucy but would happy to give you my opinion of Elise…but it is my opinion and Lucy’s reasonings may not be anywhere near mine. 😄 I come from the State next to NY and her district is basically the North Country. I know a lot of people in that area and their news is our news because we are close and “share” local TV channels. She started out as a moderate conservative and look at what she has become… IMO she is a liar, an out and out liar. She disregards what she wants and changes stances purely to forward her political career. She goes on about career politicians and she has never really had a job other than as a politician. I don’t agree with her “Trump” rhetoric that she espouses and most of her policies…and truthfully I bet she doesn’t really either. There is much more but I always go on too long. Hahaha. But suffice it to say I would never vote for her in a million years and I am always yelling liar at my TV when she is in parts of local news segments. 😆
