Good morning.
Today ods and I are going to visit a very dear friend whom I haven't seen in ages. She's going to be living at mil's house for a few months and I can't wait to see her. We'll spend some time out playing tourist, since she isn't as familiar w/the city. We're going for a quick overnighter.
Dh has rechauffe panko chicken for dinner.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
Wishing everyone a delightful, fun, relaxing and restorative weekend.

scrapmaven a visit with an old friend sounds lovely. I hope you enjoy your time. I have no meetings today and I've managed to finish up all my work now by 11 am. I may just crochet a bit while I monitor my email. I'm hoping to work on my camper quilt on Sunday. I even am doing the laundry today so I can have one less chore to do on Sunday. I'm not sure what is for dinner tonight. I really need to get to a store. Maybe I can talk Jeremy into going with me to the health food store later.

I was awakened at 4:45 by a smoke detector chirping. I hate when that happens. DH will be changing all the batteries on 8 detectors today. I will be taking a nap this afternoon. Dinner will be Horseradish Meatloaf. Finishing up our trip with more flowers from the different countries. The signage at the hotel was marvelous, I’ve previously posted some photos. Here’s a few more and my favorites from when you enter the hotel and when you leave! When you are entering the revolving door into the lobby: When you are leaving the lobby through the revolving door:

Good evening, I am waiting for the promised storm to happen and cool things down a bit here. We are expecting temperatures in the mid 30s over the weekend (no idea what that is in F) which I am not looking forward to. Today has been another slow day. I walked to the hardware store - about 20 minutes away - to buy something to deter the snails and slugs that are eating my herbs (2 basil bushes devoured in 3 weeks!) and vegetables and then popped into the Turkish grocery for a few things - aubergines (they have several varieties), chicken thighs and a borek for my lunch. I’ve also had no internet all day, not sure why. I’ve done the usual things, turning it on and off, resetting the modem, but to no avail. Thankfully I have enough data to read emails and some message boards, but I don’t want to waste it on streaming programs, so I’m stuck with podcasts and books. Dinner tonight is fish, possibly with chips if there are some in the freezer and whatever other vegetables I can find that need to be eaten. **GypsyGirl** - I hope your DH is doing better today

hutchfan , Happy Anniversary to both you and Mr. Hutchfan. Enjoy a nice evening and weekend together. jeremysgirl , enjoy every inch of your weekend. It's nice that you have the rest of today to crochet and relax, too. Can't wait to see your quilt. cadoodlebug , I've always wanted to see tulips in Holland. My 3rd grade teacher loved to travel and each month we would be a different country and have a prime minister or president. When she showed up her home movies of Holland I fell in love w/the tulips. You're so fortunate to be able to travel to amazing places. I hope that you can get a good nap today. Chirping smoke detectors are a lousy way to wake up. sueg, I'm wishing you a very fun and nice weekend. Hopefully, your internet will behave for the rest of the weekend.

Happy Friday!
Boy, am I ready for the weekend! We're under a heat advisory here in DFW and it looks like the heat index will be 110 today. I'm sure this weekend will include pool time at my sisters. Other than that, I plan on playing my game and just trying to beat the heat.
Tonight, I'm making burgers and my parents will probably come over. I found some burger aioli at the grocery store after looking for fry sauce thanks to the recent thread. Didn't find any fry sauce but am interested to see how this spread tastes.
I hope you all have a great day!

I have nothing planned today ... big surprise! I do want to type out a Word Doc of the itinerary my friend from Ontario and I have set up for her visit next month ... right now it's just scratched on a piece of notepaper! We have so many things crammed into five days! . I'm expecting a few deliveries today ... can't remember what Dinner is undecided ... probably takeout of some sort because I am just not motivated to cook these days!

Happy Anniversary hutchfan! After my two full days of babysitting, today is a catch up day. I’ve already dusted the house and vacuumed. I need to pick up a heartworm pill for Walker at the vet and drop off a library book. This is Canada Day weekend for us Canadians so Monday is a statutory holiday. Lots of activities happening around here. It’s also our small towns 150th birthday this year so lots planned for that as well. Supper is undecided at this time.

I've always wanted to see tulips in Holland. Have I ever told y'all that DH's parents lived in Holland while he was in college in CA? He would visit them every summer and they would travel around Europe. His dad was in charge of building a nuclear power plant there in the 60's. Have a great visit with your friend!

No plans yet for dinner. We have a graduation party Saturday for 2 of the 6 graduates. We have already gone to 2 parties, and have one more for the last 2 graduates in July. Geesh! And everyone turned 18 this year too. It has been busy around here. Hoping to just relax tonight. We will get the rest of the drywall on the walls at some point this weekend. Happy Anniversary the the hutchfan s!

I just marinated 4 flank steaks and put them in the freezer. A labor of love, I'm telling you! I was pounding the heck out of them. This morning DH was on his way to the gym and the light turned green for him, he waited a few seconds and right as he started entering the intersection, a guy blew through going about 60 in a 45mph zone. If DH hadn't hesitated, he would have been t-boned and likely killed.

I've always wanted to see tulips in Holland. About 12 years ago I went with a friend on an AMA Waterways cruise around Holland and Belgium at the end of April - early May. We ended the cruise at Keukenhof, the most beautiful spring garden in the world. It was glorious. Even had peacocks with a full plumn. A smaller ship with only 150 passengers and we went down the canals and rivers throughout Belgium and Holland. In northern Holland, we saw what appeared to be a 'flotilla' of Alfa Romeo cars, of all years and vintages on a car rally. Spectacular. Dinner will be a salad as I am tired today. I helped my dgd prepare a full dinner for her family, including homemade spetzel, gravy, chicken, salad and we baked & decorated cupcakes. Add in a swim in the pool and endless games of UNO and I am tired. She's a great kid but always on the move. hutchfan ~ Happy Anniversary. cadoodlebug ~ the many pictures brought back fond memories of my trip to Iceland. Thanks.

I follow a FB page called "Bad Calgary Drivers" ... they are just like that guy ... a hazard on the road that will kill someone someday!

I had a procedure today (the next step in a yearlong process to figure out some questionable blood work). The plan was to and clean sludge put of my bile duct. Except they couldnt find the opening to the bile duct. So, if my groggy brain remembers correctly, the next step is to try it again with an ultrasound to help find it. (Ive had this procedure before so this is a new development). On the plus side, the Dr went from not thinking this woupd be thale answer to thinking that there is a stricture and that could he causing all of this.
So, if any of our pea nurses have any insight into failed ERCP's and bile duct strictures, Id love to hear about it!
Dinner is of dh and ds' choosing and I will figure out what I want from where they choose

littlemama I have no info but wish you luck. Just the wording of your procedure sounds icky and painful. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. Today was a rough day. We finally made the decision to have our sweet beagle, Bella put down and called and made the appointment for Monday morning . She’s 17 and has dementia. We’re all broken hearted. It will be a sad weekend. I have no plans for dinner and it’s already 7 pm. I have no appetite so I may skip it all together.

cadoodlebug love the flower pictures. I would plant more in our back garden but for the plant terrorist who eats them randomly and so many of my favorites are toxic to dogs. Judy26 I'm so very sorry. It's so hard to let them go and yet it can be the most loving thing we can do. Hugs to you. littlemama that does not sound fun. I hope they can figure out what is going on. We were out of town for a while visiting family, helping ds move, etc. It was nice. Meanwhile our lettuce all bolted while we were gone so we are ripping them out and replanting. We were offering Vegetables to our neighbor and she gave us beautiful lettuce. Nice trade! Tonight we had salmon salad on sourdough and sugar snap peas.
