Hi everyone! I am going to my fav place in the world in awhile ... the mall! It is the Canada Day long weekend here so I am expecting it to be busy there ... yay. The only reason I am going is because a pair of cowboy boots I have been interested in have gone on sale and I need to try them on ... they are a beautiful brown suede Oh, and I will probably bring home a burrito! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I am never far from my phone ... whether at home, at work or out and about ... I have issues! I have no idea what dinner will be tonight ... sigh! I hope you are all feeling healthy today ... your families too! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Happy Saturday!
I'm just catching up on a bit of housework and laundry this morning before going to my sister's house for my nephew's birthday party. BIL is grilling steaks and I'll bring some sort of appetizer. The heat index is 112 today so I know there will be some pool time as well.
I just made myself brunch and am enjoying a mimosa while watching Food Network. I'll probably finish The Bear this morning too.
All in all, a good start to the weekend!
Hope you all have a great day!

Visited a great Vendor Fair at our local and favorite Fulton Farms (fresh corn and all types of vegetables, strawberries when in season). Did a little retail therapy as well. We have gutted our kitchen (since April!) so I'm learning how to cook more things in an electric skillet and just found a recipe for cooking corn on the cob in my instapot - guess what's for dinner!

Good evening all, Another fairly quiet day today. We had a family FaceTime chat, to let my sons know everything about my brain tumor. By the end, both were cracking jokes, so they aren’t too stressed about it at this point. I have told them not to tell my family yet. My mum died from a brain tumor - a very different type from mine, which is benign - and with my stepmum being so ill lately, my dad doesn’t need to be worrying about me. Once I got of the call, I emailed my neurosurgeon to tell him of my decision; he said he’ll call me once he knows to go through the scheduling and planning.
Yesterday, our internet went out and it still wasn’t working this morning. I was about to call in the problem when the front doorbell to the building rang - it was the internet repair man who had been called by one of the others in the building. Less than half an hour later, he rang our apartment doorbell and got me to check, as his device said all was fixed! Yay! Especially as I need internet in order to watch the Euro round of 16 games starting tonight, with Germany playing at 9pm.
Dinner tonight is nachos.

We walked a shorter route this morning because it was already hot. Starting Monday we'll have temperatures over 100° for at least 10 days. I'm getting ready to run to Raley's so we might have Jalapeno Popper Chicken. Now that I've finished bombarding y'all with vacation pictures, it's back to a daily meme. I love this one because my sister used to entertain DS for hours doing this.

leannec this one time when I was camping I had to walk more than half a mile to get a phone signal. I was actually quite happy most of the trip my children couldn't contact me. I *really* needed a break at that point. I was losing my marbles with my kids. My kids kept it together pretty well that week. And my mom was on hand if needed. (They were 19 & 20 so not children) I can go a long time without my phone. sueg I'm glad to hear your boys weren't frightened and that you've made peace with your decision to go forward with the surgery. Jeremy installed my new dishwasher. Turned it on . Walked out the door to the store. It's been beeping in error since he left every thirty seconds. I cannot shut it off. I want to pull my hair out. We are having a BBQ today with Jeremy parents, sister, kids, grandson. So BBQ food. Lentil burger for me.

Good morning, all. No idea what’s for dinner, but I’ve been so bad about posting the last week or two that I thought I’d better just freakin’ post while I’m thinking of it. Just busy with family stuff. East Coast sister is in town. I’ve been slightly craving tuna noodle casserole lately, so if nothing better comes along, that might be dinner. ( AussieMeg: the tuna for tuna noodle casserole comes out of a can. Just so you know.) leannec and cadoodlebug, love the memes. They both 100% apply to me.

What brand? Have you googled how to stop the error beep? If all else fails, reach under the sink and unplug that thing (or wherever it's plugged in)! That's what I had to do with a Bosch that pulled that on me once.

Good morning everyone (well, it’s before 10am here). I am feeling quite accomplished today. I got up early and just started cleaning and working on tasks. Now I have clean floors, done laundry, ordered some things I needed, and hung some art work. Now I’m just sitting with my coffee before moving on the next thing. It’s sunny today here which is nice as we haven’t been having the greatest weather. Tomorrow we are going to a local lavender field that is now open for the season - they are having food trucks and live music and I am looking forward to relaxing and getting some lavender lemonade. Have a wonderful day everyone! Haha - out of th habit of posting here - I forget to mention what was for dinner. I am working my way through Valerie Bertinelli’s new cookbook and making “gumbo inspired chicken thighs and rice.”

Quiet day here...I was all set to go for a bike ride this morning, however it is quite chilly out (for June 29th) and is supposed to rain....After multiple charity rides in the pouring rain I swore I wouldn't ride in the rain for pleasure!!!
DH made reservations at one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants....Looking forward to dinner!!!

I can't unplug it without removing the whole thing.

It's another hot and humid day here in Texas so decided to go out early. Went out for breakfast and then stopped at the grocery store since I was out. I had been putting it off but I was down to almost nothing so had to make the stop. I've got a small load of towels washing while I watch a movie and stay cool indoors.
No idea what's for dinner.

It’s a hot sticky one here today. Yesterday was cool sweatshirt weather. What the heck is wrong with Mother Nature??
Took my mom to the grocery store this morning, then stopped to buy dog food. I got 2 free cans of food with the purchase of my bagged kibble. We will see if Walker likes the Gumbo flavour!
My mom turns 82 on Wednesday. I’ve decided just to have my brother and SIL for grilled burgers. It’s too hard to get the kids, niece and nephew together because all the little ones are playing soccer, baseball and swimming lessons. So no one else is invited. Easy peasey!
Not sure about supper yet.

paget, welcome back. I'm so glad that you posted here. Enjoy the lavender garden. That sounds like a lovely day. Ods and I made a quick trip to the other house where a dear friend is staying. We had such a nice time visiting and catching up. Then we tried to fix a broken closet rod and shelf. Dh will need to get down there and replace the rod and shelving. It was somewhere between comical and annoying. My friend has been scrubbing like crazy and really making the house a home, again. We're heading into a big heat wave. So, dinners will be instant pot and simple. Tonight I'm making chicken fajitas. I didn't sleep well and neither did ods. I'm probably gonna need a nap at some point. Enjoy the weekend, my tribe.

I have to be sick or something to take a nap. I am not a napper at all. But I'm pretty damn rigid that I go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5. And I know you have insomnia leannec so does Jeremy. I'm blessed to sleep good almost every night.

Oh shit sueg , I'm glad your boys aren't too stressed about it, but can I tell you that you just about gave me a heart attack when I read the words "brain tumour" just now! Well, that's what I get for not checking in here for a few days. I had to go back and read your previous posts, and I'm happy to hear that it is benign. jeremysgirl we bought a new Bosch dishwasher earlier this year. We kept getting an error message too. Only a very few washes were getting through to the end of the cycle, most were stopping. DSO tried everything but couldn't work out the problem. We ended up getting a Bosch repairman out, and he fixed it within one minute. It turned out we had a flow restrictor on the pipes, so there wasn't enough water getting through for most of the cycles. I can't even remember getting the restrictor put on, or why we would have done it. I'm glad it was an easy fix, because DSO was ready to throw the dishwasher on the scrap heap! lucyg I am a bit lost - what is the significance of canned tuna? I have two dishes that I have been making since I was a teenager: tuna mornay and tuna curry & rice slice. I used canned tuna for both of those.

I might have compared canned tuna and chicken because they’re pretty similar, except one tastes fishy and the other tastes basically like nothing at all.

Oh no, it definitely wouldn't have been tinned tuna that I was horrified at. Like I said, I've been making those two dishes with canned tuna since the early 80s, and I have a ton of little cans of tuna in the pantry for lunches. I can't actually remember the discussion you're thinking of, but I reckon it would have been about canned chicken. I did buy some once to use in DS's school sandwiches, and it was bloody awful!

Hey strangers! I’ve been out of the country spending some much needed time with the family - real world will be tomorrows problem - honestly as a very engaged responsible citizen for most of my life, I’m more than tempted to chuck it alll and just travel - not looking forward to the mess at home and it’s been amazing to be so disconnected from it all. Anyway - hope you’re all well!

Well, that's what I get for not checking in here for a few days. I had to go back and read your previous posts, and I'm happy to hear that it is benign. Believe me, I freaked out too when he doctor said tumour. He then explained to me that, in medical terms, a tumour is simply a group of cells growing in the wrong place. Technically, even a pimple could be considered a tumour! sort of like how a wed is any plant growing somewhere it shouldn't And my younger son was suggesting that we should fly him to Germany for August and September, just in case I needed extra care.
