FLUFF POST! Hello cardmaking friends! Let's find out more about each other. I like:- Making cards for friends/family/2Peas card swaps
- Ink blending
- Stamping/stenciling
- Using foam tape to "lift" components off the card base
- Taking part in online events
- Using my StampWheel
- Embossing folders
- Sentiment stamps that are all on one stamp with a matching die
- Too many to list, but the ones I order from the most - Taylored Expressions, PinkFresh, Gina K Designs
I don't like:- Interactive cards - for some reason I can't make them work right, they are bulky for mailing, etc.
- Cleaning up after making cards. Stuff gets everywhere!
- Random stamping on a card base - I struggle to make it look "balanced" but some people can make this look really good.
- My stash being so disorganized. I know I have something but can't find it. Frustrating!
- Dog hair everywhere. My 72-lb. black lab sheds year-round and I have a lot of trouble keeping the loose hairs under control.

I like: Making cards for charities and friends/family. Watching YouTube card making videos. Having a dedicated craft room. Generally having what I need already in my room. Online craft classes and events. Working through my stash Making cards in semi bulk. I used to make 6-8 at a time, but four is my sweet spot. Companies: HoneyBee Stamps, Queen and Company, GinaK, Altenew, SCT events I dislike: Signing and sending cards Cleaning up after crafting. Getting overwhelmed with my choices because of my large stash. Stamping my own background, because I have stacks of patterned paper to use instead! YouYube crafters that are now more about sponsors and product Videos that are over an hour long, unless it’s using an entire paper pad.

I like:
- I love coloring/ ink blending - Coordinating products: Stamps, dies, stencils that all work together - Shaker cards - Interactive cards - Do small card swaps (less than 12) - Watching YouTube videos that aren't too long - Sparkle!
I don't like:
- Punches (I'm not capable of using them due to my disability) - Ribbon - The fact that I spread out while working and have to clean it up. I wish I could confine myself to a small work area. - FOMO and I have it BAD, also, If I like something I want ALL of it. - Not being stupid rich, so I could afford to buy all the stuff that I want. LOL

I like:
- Making cards for donation to charities - Making multiples. Once I have a design I like, I want to make the most of it. Usually 8 to 12. - Making kid cards (and collecting the supplies to do so) - All the virtual events. So inspiring. - Matching stencils to color images - Foiling with my Minc to add a little sparkle
I don't like:
- A stash that is too big but I'm working on it. - Overly fussy cards; I'm more of a clean and simple card maker - Teeny, tiny dies. My hands are not cooperating any more. - The same themes repeated by every manufacturer. I don't need any more balloons - give me something different.

Not having a crafting space. I use a piece of thick plexiglass on my lap as my work space. My die cutting machine is on the floor. Everything is stacked in containers along the wall in my small bedroom. I make due with it all, but drool at real crafting spaces.

I like:
Making cards for people. I love it when people tell me they keep my cards (I don't mind if people toss it, just don't tell me). One of my friends have kept every card I made for 10+ years. It's so nice to have a hobby like this, where you can make people happy just by making them a card.
Online events. Ink blending, stamping, and diecutting.
I love looking at everyone's cards and seeing what they come up with. It's truly inspiring seeing everyone have a different take on the same products.
I dislike:
Embossing, I love the look of it but hate how the embossing powder gets everywhere no matter how clean I try to be.
Mixed media and pastes, I love the look of solar paste but I don't like cleaning it up. It just seems to get every where. Also look the look of ink sprays but just don't like the mess. I have a small craft space, so I like everything to be neat and orderly.
I don't like picking colors for cards. I am kind of indecisive so I like looking at other people's palettes and copying theirs.

I like: -Making AND receiving cards from the 2Peas swaps -Stamp/Stencil/Die combos -Online virtual events -Watching YouTube cardmaking videos for inspiration -Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers dies (I'm addicted!!) -Making specific "themed/seasonal" cards versus "hello/everyday" cards -My Empress Mini being right on my desk -Crafting with friends -Organizing my stash with Evernote (saves me from buying duplicates and similar themes to what I already have)
I dislike: -Coloring - not my fave...I'd rather use stencils -FOMO - I'm trying to be choosy with the virtual events but I do get FOMO seeing all the posts here! -Cutting & scoring card bases - I try to do big batches at one time because I don't like having to haul out my trimmer & scoreboard after I've made a big mess making my card panel LOL -Cleaning up my Craftermath after a big crafting session - specifically vacuuming all the little pieces that get all over my floor

I like Interactive cards Crafting with friends Using alcohol markers Stamps, dies, stencils etc that coordinate Online events Crafting with friends Having a great craft room to work in Having a stash I like Making cards for work, family, friends and fellow crafters Die cutting Lawn Fawn, c9, pinkfresh, the stamp market,
What I dislike Cleaning up Struggling with some interactive dies where you have to be too precise A cuter and better version of something I already bought My Misti hinge that broke on the “new” Misti version that is less then 2 years old Running out of things hence my tendency to buy lots of extra adhesives and consumables.

I have started answering this two or three times already. I'm really struggling. I guess I must be "complicated" a PITA.
TL;DR: I like everything, at least a little! But I have favorites, like anyone.
I have a love-hate relationship with heat embossing. I love combining it with watercolor or using it with sentiments, but I am painfully aware that embossing powder is a microplastic and I hate that.
I prefer coloring over ink blending with stencils, but it's nice to have a few simpler coloring stencil sets to mix it up a bit. Background stencils can be nice, too. Or an ink-blended sunrise or sunset sort of a thing. Glad I've learned to ink blend and have the tools to take it on when I choose.
My relationship to die cutting is similar to ink blending. LOVE sentiment stamps with dies -- LOVE! Like have the outline dies for my stamped and colored images. Adding them on top of a background adds some dimension, plus you can pop them up for even more! Love background dies/cover plates. I like a relatively simple layered die set, too. Again for change of pace or just because some of them are just different and exciting -- Honey Bee's Lovely Layers birds, for instance. But watching Jennifer McGuire's videos where she shows these giant zip lock bags FULL of tiny floral pieces waiting to be assembled gives me the absolute heebie-jeebies! I want to love frame dies, but some of the most intriguing are very detailed and/or delicate and I have trouble cutting them and/or placing them. There's an art deco frame set on my Altenew wish list that hasn't followed me home yet because I am almost positive I won't actually love working with it enough to use it enough to justify it's purchase.
I think I can say that I love coloring unequivocally, so that's pretty simple. I use pencils/watercolor pencils and markers/alcohol markers. I used to think that brushes and I didn't get along, but I've been dipping a toe into watercoloring lately and that's going pretty well. I also like layered stamps for creating colored images.
I also love embossing folders and patterned papers, two tools in the card making arsenal that relatively low mess/low stress and very versatile! Love Crafty Al's Sheet Loads of Cards and some SU One Sheet Wonders.
Pea Exchange cards! It makes me happy to make them. It makes me happy to receive them. It makes me happy to remake them for donation when the next quarter's start to arrive. I hope it makes the sender of the donated card happy when they write their message to a patient or foster kid client, . And I hope it makes that final end recipient of that card happy! I hope that's FIVE HAPPIES in every Pea exchange card.
I also enjoying sending cards to friends and family, but I didn't ever when they were Hallmark before I started making them. I don't know why. But there are still unsent Hallmark cards in my craft room. I donated boxes of holiday cards to Bring Smiles to Seniors because I kept buying them and not sending them. I gift set of cards I make to people I think will appreciate them. And I have some friends and family members who come to me when they need a card before they try the store, which feels super cool.
EtA: All that and I forgot to say that my favorite brands appear to be Hero Arts (long-standing, have stuff of theirs from 25 years ago!) and Altenew; next probably Honey Bee and Concord & 9th.

primarily a scrapbooker but I do make cards now and then so I'm going play along I like -sending handmade cards -using a sketch -hello/thinking of you cards -colouring to my surprise although I'm not very good at it -coverplate dies -embossing folders -using scraps -sheetloads - even though I usually only make one or two at a time I dislike - trying to match multiple PP scraps -lots of tiny pieces -stencils -mixed media -not being able to afford/justify paying for the virtual events or fancy name-brand dies -feeling guilty for 'playing with cards' when I have so many unscrapped layouts

What I don’t like: …cleaning up …not having that perfect cardstock/ink/marker/embellishment color …making multiples of one design …knowing I have something but can’t find it …virtual events …cardmaking kits …everything Tim Holtz except the inks …seeing a card on Pinterest with a stamp or dye I love only to find it’s been discontinued
What I like: Just about everything not listed above

I guess I'll play too LIKES: Shopping Taking part in online events Ink blending - is anyone surprised by that? Making cards to send to friends/family/card exchanges, and for donation, I make a lot of donation cards! Stamping Adding dimension with cardstock layers or foam tape Playing with color Die cutting - but I have to be in the right "zen-like" mood to do a bunch of it LOVE: my 24x36 magnetic glass mat. It stays on my desk and I can do anything on it, including setting my laptop on it, without worrying about my desk getting damaged. I purchased it right after I started card-making and it is probably my most liked crafting item. Adding dimension with cardstock layers or foam tape FAVORITE COMPANIES in order: Concord and 9th, PinkFresh (most of it), Stamp Market, Simon Says Stamp, Taylored Expressions DISLIKES: Making interactive, fun folds, and 3D (pop-up) cards Sentiment stamps and dies that are one piece (sorry MDscrapaholic ). I usually don't like or won't use all the sentiments in a set so I don't want to make those ones. CAT HAIR. It sticks to my stamps and I don't see it until I have stamped and then see the piece of fur has left errant lines on the stamped image or sentiment. Drives me bonkers to have to do them over!

Lately I like: Bold designs that take up a lot of space Patterned paper and matching die cuts Bold sentiments Doodlebug die cuts Sheetload sketches Watching YT videos Finishing a whole paper pad with no scraps Concord &9th
Don’t like: Foiling (I like the effect but not doing it myself) Coloring small stamped images or making scenes Fussy cutting or using an electronic cutter Fiddly things, lumpy things, small foam dots Complicated one-off card designs like interactive cards Finding scraps from an unfinished pad in my stash The insides of cards - decorating and writing in them is hard lately
HATE: glitter
LOVE: letterpress, but I’ve never done it myself

I like:
Stamp/die/stencil sets Catherine Pooler inks Gemini die cutter Hot foiling 3D embossing folders Coverplates Online events (I might be an online event addict) Pinkfresh jewels, gems, drops & embellishment tool Hammermill cardstock Pinkfresh, Spellbinders, Waffleflower
Dislike:
Layering stamps. I never get them lined up properly complicated cards (wish I found that out before spending a fortune on Lawn Fawn dies) coloring without a stencil Loose glitter and flock (I toss that crap right on out) Stamping foam from Ranger Fussy cutting Actual writing in and mailing out cards.

Like: Ink Blending Stencils Lunar, Solar and Ranger Texture pastes Intricate dies Heat embossing Dry embossing Fussy cutting Mixing themes on cards - like a beach scene with planets or multiple moons in the sky Giving people blank cards for them to share as they wish
Dislike: Floral themes Creating sentiments Kits Coloring stamped images Having work and chores interfering with craft time

What a cool discussion! Thanks for setting it up MDscrapaholic!
Like: making cards for friends and family when I can figure out a twist they will like. playing with diecuts and stickers and pp to create scenes. using water brushes with reactive inks (usually TH Distress) trying new techniques simple layered stencils bright colours on dark backgrounds Sticker or die cut greeting words.
Dislike: stamping greetings--they never come out clean and crisp for me complicated instructions for card designs or layered stamps or stencils fussing with details when assembling layered diecuts colouring with markers making sympathy cards, mostly because I don't make them until I need them and then don't feel creative.

I like:
Making and giving cards, and scrapbooking.
Dies, stamps, embossing folders, and more recently, also digital images for printing and cutting to add to pages or cards.
Options. The more, the better. like having my own LSS.
I like interactive cards, especially pop ups made with Karen Burniston’s dies. I love the reaction of the receiver.
Designing my own cards and layouts. It’s extremely rare that I copy someone else’s, because when I started making cards, there were no magazines (that I was aware of), no internet, and I couldn’t afford classes.
I dislike:
Coloring.
Messy mediums that warp my card stock. I’ve bought and tried many of them.
Glitter. It is the unwanted gift that keeps on giving. That stuff gets everywhere and is hard to clean up.
Sketches. They are harder for me to use than designing my own card or layout.

Yeah! • Alcohol markers / colouring • Die cuts, the more intricate the better • Solid cardstock • Putting everything back where it belongs
Meh. • Messy (pastes, sprays, inks, etc.) • Stamping • Embossing folders • Embossing powders • Stencils • Patterned paper
Nope: • Making the same card more than once • Following instructions/tutorials • Shakers • Foam Tape • Sticky adhesives • Pearls, sequins, drops • GLITTER (unless it's 100% no-shed)

I love questions like this, but I can never think of everything when I sit down to answer it! LOL! LIKE: -Using patterned papers and matching die cuts/stickers to make cards. Patterned paper is my weakness! -Enamel dots/gems/sequins etc -My Big Shot! It sits right next to me on my work table so I can cut whatever I want easily, quickly, and without hassle -Ink blending-especially with stencils -Smashing a paper pad. Or a collection, or a kit, or a particular pile of scraps. Whatever it is, but using it up fully and having a stack of cards to show for it. -Using a sketch, sheetload, challenge etc as a starting point to my card(s). -Watching/listening to Youtube or Facebook videos while I craft. -2 Peas card exchanges. I'm so happy to have someone to actually send my cards to. -Brands-Taylored Expressions, Honeybee, Pinkfresh
DISLIKE: -Glitter! At least loose stuff. -Intricate/tedious dies that require a lot of cutting, piecing, and gluing! Blah. That's just too much for me. -Fun fold, 3D, interactive cards. I mean, I can do them, but I'm not really interested. -Cleaning up and putting stuff away -Having to cut and fold card bases -Cutesy stuff -Lawn Fawn, Brutus Monroe. (Nothing against these brands-they just aren't really my style/preference.)
