Absolutely nothing ... I'm not into crowds.at.all ... especially since Covid ... that being said, I will be at the Calgary Stampede rodeo and midway one day very soon ... we'll see how that goes!

Staying home! The kids will all be here and we are going to bbq and I have stuff for a nice charcuterie board. I made a rhubarb crisp for dessert that has some lavender in it - can’t wait to bake it and eat it!

DH and I are going for a bike ride in the morning. Other than that, we will be at home. Lots of activities going on for those who wish to participate though.

I will spend it going for groceries, doing a load of laundry, cleaning and cooking my meals for the week.
I just spend 5 days at my parents helping them. Dad had foot surgery almost a month ago and can't put weight on his foot for another month or 2.

Hoping the wind stays down so we can kayak/SUP before it gets too hot and then come back and swim. BBQ for supper. My little community has fireworks but people in our neighborhood will set some off at the dock next to us so will probably stay home and enjoy those.
Happy Canada Day!

Going to visit my FIL in LTC, taking his sister with me, it's 30 minutes from here. Going to stop at the fruit truck and get some BC cherries.
Calgary peas, how have you been doing with the water restrictions? Our village had water issues for a number of years. We were 2 weeks without any water once, they turned it on twice to refill things.

I think most people are doing well ... those who are not in the area of the water main break at least ... we are all showering less, washing clothes less and using our dishwashers only when full ... no one is using fresh water for flowers (hopefully) so we don't have the flowers that we normally have ... the city says that things should be up and running for Stampede on Friday!

It’s our 35th wedding anniversary tomorrow! My DS and brand new DIL are here in BC visiting us and we are going into Kelowna tomorrow to a new restaurant for dinner, some casino play and an overnight at the Delta. Happy Canada Day all! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
(Guess we are all doing our part to conserve Calgary water since we aren’t home! 😄)

Hope you get better weather than we did. It was beautiful for the parade but rained a lot before and after.

Happy Canada Day to all of you!
I miss rhubarb crisp. I grew up eating rhubarb everything in the Midwest, but it’s not really a thing here in Texas. Enjoy!

Staying home! The kids will all be here and we are going to bbq and I have stuff for a nice charcuterie board. I made a rhubarb crisp for dessert that has some lavender in it - can’t wait to bake it and eat it! My grandmother, a legendary pie baker, used to make the most delicious rhubarb pie. I remember during one of her visits from Canada to stay with us, my mom stood elbow to elbow with her while they both created identical rhubarb pies. I don’t know what she did differently than my mom, who also had a reputation for her baking, but grandma’s pie was better. And as I grew up, I stood next to Mom to learn how to make my own pie crust, but mine were never as good as Mom’s pie crust. Same ingredients, but Mom’s technique of sifting the crust ingredients into pea-sized bits without over working the dough was something I never quite achieved.

Milocat, we always have two rain barrels on the go. Some of our planter are Maxikap self watering ones. For a couple of years now we have hoped to replace the retaining wall between us and our neighbour.. Decided to delay it again and started up those six rain barrels. The rain we have had keep them full. We have a raised garden in the back yard and can water with rain water from the barrels. Some people in our city are utilizing Rubbermaid, recycling and city compost bins to store water.
