Beryl has put a kink in my routine! We've had no power and no running water since Monday morning. Even if the gym had power, or the streets weren't littered with debris, no way to shower off the sweat. We've been making do eating food from our pantry and the three local places open but it hasn't been super healthy since fresh veggies and fruits are in the short supply at the moment. Hoping to get power back soon! 🤞🤞

After drinking my calories for the week in slurpees yesterday, I did day 8 of Iron. That was rough. It is funny I love and hate the workouts at the same time. I have no problem trying fo find the motivation.
Walking a 5k with a friend tomorrow on my active rest day.

My friend backed out, so I ran/walked the 5k...after getting home at 1 am because a cousin got last minute tickets to the Billy Joel concert.
So, home at 1am - left for 5k just before 6 am.
Now headed home for a nap.

Hoping all is back to normal for you guys in Texas soon!
I've got my menu planned for the week and it's just a bunch of salads/veggie bowls with some protein thrown in. I put off buying an air fryer for so long but I'm so happy to have one now as the oven can stay off this week. We've got some very warm days ahead of us here! I'm going into week 6 of my Caroline Girvan Epic Endgame and grabbing the heavier weights when I can. For an at-home workout, I feel like it's a really good program.

Lots of healthy eating going on here, no weight loss in weeks. Grrr.

I did really well with my eating for the first part of June but then was traveling for a few weeks and came back up 3lbs, despite trying to make healthier choices while gone. Those lbs are still hanging on. I started a strength program with Nourish Move Love on YouTube last week. Also trying to dial in my nutrition again.

I thought about taking today off, but then just went for it. Day 9 of Iron. The workouts kick my butt and I cuss at her, but I am so happy to do them.
Tomorrow is an Iron rest day, but I'll be doing barre class at the rec center.
No to get my nutrition, including protein, where it needs to be. I am usually way under or a good deal over on calories, I just don't seem to hit the sweet spot

Meaning, figuring out ahead of time what you will eat (say the day before) so you can see where you need to add or subtract macros? A friend does this religiously and she says it's the only way she can stay right in line with what she needs.

I am down another almost 3 lbs. so 5lbs total. Not bad, but I know I can dial my food in better. I've all but cut out caffeine and related it with water. So yay. But this weekend was lots of sodium in restaurant food + alcohol. So time to rein it in.

I did the Iron series last year and when "did you enjoy this workout" came on the screen, that's when I always had some sarcasm and cuss words for her.

freecharlie No, I haven't done anything else. I did not feel like I was progressing or getting any stronger with Iron. I do better sticking to my own workouts instead of videos. A lot of people love CG though, it's just not a format that works for me.

I'm holding steady. I went out of town this weekend and it was very hard to stick to my plant based diet. We were in a pretty small town with not many options for eating out.
Plus I totally planned on having a homemade ice cream because we always get one there. That was a big mistake after all these weeks of no dairy. 😳 I'm back to my veggie, lentils, and soy milk. 😂 And this morning my stomach finally feels better.

Did a 6 mile hike today. It was absolutely beautiful, but my legs are pissed.
No matter what I do, the scale doesn't move. I know I tell people all the time there are other measures, but damn, I'd like it to move a bit.

As of today, I am 98 days smoke-free. I have had some very trying times recently so I'm pretty proud of myself for not smoking.
As of today, I am 48 days on a plant-based diet. My blood pressure hasn't been consistent lately, but at least I keep hitting the normal range every so often. Which is a good improvement for me. And well, I'm down 10 pounds now too.
On day 100, I plan to start a daily walking program.
On day 150, I will have my blood drawn.

Hi all. I need some accountability so I plan to join you more regularly. after maintaining a 45 pound weight loss for a couple of years, peri menopause threw a wrench in and a lot of the weight is back. To be fair, I’d say half is perimenopause and half was me being discouraged my usual diet and exercise weren’t working like it did and eventually saying fuck it. It was pretty discouraging to work out 1.5 hours a day and eat right and still gain weight. Then throw in the too tired/no energy to do anything and here we are. I’ve been working on “just because it not my old more intense method of working out doesn’t mean I do nothing.” Monday and Tuesday I did 20 minutes on my bike and 10 minutes strength. I skipped yesterday. I have today off and will do yoga and barre and I’m going for a hike. I do eat mostly well. Can tweak a bit.

I am still doing macro counting through the direction of a registered dietician. While I've not seen much movement on the scale, I am wearing a pair of shorts today that didn't fit a month ago. I'm also in week 7 of Caroline Girvan's Epic Endgame workouts on YouTube. I have a baby bicep and some new curse words to show for it. I wonder daily how do people not wash their hair every day if they are working out? I also have been going for a walk for about an hour. I'm trying to get as much in before school starts back up and my time is limited!

I’ve been doing well watching what I eat and trying to get movement in but the scale hasn’t budged. I guess no change is better than gain.
Finally saw a new primary care doctor this week. I REALLY liked her. She did a lot of blood work and scheduled me to come back in three weeks to go over it all and make a plan. She has some ideas but wants to see the lab results. Then she noticed my legs (they always have a red lacy look to them). Sheasked me if I’d ever heard of MCAS and/or dysautonomia. This is exactly what I suspected has been wrong and was thrilled to not be gaslighted. She’s going to locate a specialist for me to get the official diagnosis.

Had an NSV the other day. I needed to buy new black dress pants with belt loops (which was a struggle to find something with belt loops!), and I found a style at Belks. I took back sizes 16, 14, and 12 to the dressing room to try on - the size 12 were the ones that fit the best!! 😱🙌
Also, I started a new bridge job at a restaurant on Tuesday night. While I am still looking for a remote "career" job, this will allow me to have some work experience and since the restaurant is only open for dinner, it will give me days free to take my mom to appointments/errands. I trained as a hostess/busser, and I walked a TON during the 5 hour shift. I train as a food runner tomorrow and Saturday night, and then I will work a 10 hour catering shift for a wedding on Sunday. I think next week I'll start the server training (which I want to do sooner rather than later to make the big $$$). My old Fitbit broke, but I imagine I got thousands of steps in on Tuesday night. My back was screaming at me when I got home, but I'm hoping my body will adjust soon enough.

Here it is the end of July..almost..It was a tough month with both DH and myself having Birthdays. I am not really a cake person, however give me some ice cream and I did indulge. I am still hoping to shed the 5 pounds before I head to France EEEKKKK!!!! 4 weeks from today. I need to do better with the meal planning thing. Breakfast and dinner are good...it's the hours in between that are killing me. Suggestions on go to lunches that are healthy??? Dinner includes a big salad these days so looking for non salad options...

Would it be possible to swap your dinner salad to lunch, and then eat something else for dinner? I'm just thinking that it may be easier/quicker to prep for lunch that way.

I'm halfway through the YouTube version of Iron and it still kicks my ass. She has so many on YouTube, I may not nees the app. I go back to work in just over a week and I am hoping I stay on the wagon.
My weight isn't moving...like at all. Still +/- the same three pounds, but I am taking measurements and they seem to be shrinking (I always worry I'm crazy). I bought a small whiteboard for my bathroom both to keep track and to keep me accountable and on track.
As you may remember, I had the tummy skin removal done in March. Still love that, but my chest now seems large in comparison. I need to get rid of some of the back fat.

Run across America has a miles challenge for the Olympics. The app is useful to track total miles in a time period. Best of all, for this challenge it is free.
If you need motivation to walk/run, go set yourself a goal. I set 25, but I'm hoping to crush that

I'm ending the month down maybe 2 lbs (out of the +/- 3 zone)
I've slacked the last couple of days on exercising, so I need to get back to it today.
I'll start a new thread tomorrow

Ok, I struggle with staying on a healthy track. I want to, but there are days I just feel lazy, feel overwhelmed, stressed, tired, all of it, you name it and I will use it as an excuse to not do something. I know what I need to do, but I see it as just one more thing I need to do.
With that, I am really trying to change my attitude. I bought myself some cute bento type boxes to pack a lunch. I put in some fruit, veggies, protein, etc. It's like a little snack box, but with good food and portion control. It feels good to pull it out for lunch. For my birthday I bought myself some salad bowls with an upper part to add in some extra veggies and proteins so my lettuce does not get wilty. I packed three salads on Monday, and the one I ate today seemed just as fresh as Monday's. Knowing I can pack once a week is a good thing for me.
I have also started bringing in some breakfast items and snack items to work so I can talk myself out of stopping at fast food or gas station breakfast. Again, I bring in enough for a couple days so I don't have to think about it every morning.
I was never one to think about my mental load, but I really feel that is a big part of staying on a healthy path. You need to plan. I am starting with meal planning. I know when I do that I east better, feel better and stress is greatly reduced. I created a meal plan-shopping list page that works great, I just need to do it on a regular basis.
Thank you for letting me ramble on for a bit. This thread has always been encouraging.
