Anyone watch ASMR videos on Youtube? Or am I weird?

I don't think you're weird - but I can't tolerate them. I can't stand the whispering and the noises - dear God, THE NOISES!

No they drive me nuts. I hate the card making IG reels like this. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I have watched it and that's how I know, strangely, I find ASMR anxiety provoking. The whispering, the noises, aarrgh!

I actively avoid those. I find the noises irritating.

I love the silence in my home throughout the day. I rarely even turn on music unless on a cleaning spree or late in the afternoon when I start cooking.

I despise noise at night. I am definitely not a "white noise" person for sleep.

And I've become one of those people who avoid noisy restaurant environments.

In fact, get off my lawn.

Gawd, I sound curmudgeonly, don't I?

Sometimes I watch these TT lawn mowing videos, they are fast action and all you hear is zoom zoom zoom from the lawn mower or wack wack wack from the weed eater.. I guess that is the same thing?

Particularly 'sb mowing'.. lol.. I have no idea why I have to stop when I see their videos.

That is not ASMR! 😂 We walked in and right out of restaurant once that had their music too loud.

I know what they are from seeing shows about people who create these videos. I find them, I don't know, disturbing? They often trigger a feeling in me of being "disgusted", like trypophobia. I can't stand it.

I especially hate those unboxing adds where the girl taps her nails on whatever it is she's showing. I'm getting pissy just thinking about it LOL!

For me it is their voice. I also enjoy page turning, crinkles, and cooking videos with a soft tone and slow cutting.

There are all kinds of ASMR sounds.

I took am a person who can not take in too much loud sounds during the day but certain ones soothe me.

Not for me. I have single-sided hearing loss due to middle ear issues and actively avoid any excess noise as it's very bothersome. I don't find any type of sound to be soothing.
