We had a catastophic failure of our pellet grill and by extension, of our pork butt. (Liquid got into the chamber where the pellets smoke and everything got compacted. We were finally able to take it apart and clear the blockage, but the ignitor was just...gone. we searched and searched for it and neber did find it.) So last night we had Little Caesars (🤢) and ordered a new grill. Tonight I will figure out how to cook the marinated chicken that I bought yesterday- do you think oven or stovetop or some other way? We will have the spaghetti salad and baked beans that I made yesterday. I’m sorry. That’s awful. And Little Caesars…ick! I would try broiling the chicken if it’s boneless. Just keep a close eye on it. Yeah, the good pizza place was closed and it was 7pm- we just needed something. 😁

Judy26 I'm sorry to hear that your mom was injured and that you had to miss the picnic. I hope you'll get some good rest this weekend. **GypsyGirl** , good for you for reaching out to your doctor. First rule of being a caretaker is to take care of yourself. If you need a little therapy to get through the next few months then don't be afraid to do so. May you get the right meds to help you truly rest and relax. ((((HUGS)))). taylortroop , dh is finding that retirement is sort of awesome. I'm enjoying it, too. christine58 , I just love how close you are w/your family. karenlou , you had me a brisket and coleslaw. YUMMY. leannec , may your date be a really good one w/a really great guy.
littlemama, I'm so sorry that you had to eat Little Caesars and that your pellet grill went belly up.

paget, having grown up in seattle, my old theory of summer seattle weather.. beautiful in may, rainy as soon as school is out in june, iffy til about July 15, then lovely summer weather with one or so week of rain sometime in august.. sept and oct lovely, then the rains hit between end of oct and thanksgiving. and the outdoors are so close, no use sitting around in the grey skies.. get out and do something. That is pretty much spot on! lol

jeremysgirl Have you checked into Chewy’s for the prescription food? The dog is on one and I switched over to save the monthly trips. Turns out Chewy’s is $20 cheaper! I just had to fill out the pet name and provide the vets contact information and they did the rest.

sueg and **GypsyGirl** keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. {{HUGS}} jeremysgirl , your pasta with all those veggies sound delicious and refreshing. Do you put any Olive oil, vinegar, etc in it? Had a busy day at work and was very busy. People are buying plywood to cover their windows and the grocery stores have a lot of empty shelves. Beryl is suppose to be bringing a lot of rain and wind in our area. News say it suppose to be down to category 1 by the time it comes our way. Dinner was fish and chips.

So only a hardship for someone who doesn't like to leave the house. 😂 What I can't seem to figure out is how often I need to buy food. The dog eats about the same amount all the time. I know when to fill up her bowl, I know when she needs more food. It's regular. The cats will not eat anything for a week and then all of a sudden plow through three cups worth of food in two days. I usually put my vet request in when I fill up the last bowl full. Well this time I didn't have a full bowl and the holiday through me off. Rest assured, their bowl has been filled and they are on it as far as eating goes. Poor starving cats. 😂😉

I was going to baste the veggies with olive oil and garlic and roast them. Then a splash of balsamic when I serve. I did not do that though. I forgot I had mentioned that a local Mexican restaurant has a decent vegan selection. We went and I had "fish" tacos. I'm not big on fake meat products but I nearly asked him if my tacos were in fact vegan because the fish was a dead ringer for real fish.

My cats will eat just about anything and we had to switch to a diet food for one of the kitties. So they're both on the same food. I don't think my little guy loves it, but he eats it, anyway.
