Hi evereyone! OK, my date last night was good but I don't think it is going to happen again ... he was really nice and we were there for two hours ... lot's of conversation but mostly he talked about himself - didn't ask a lot of questions about me ... that is a pet peeve of mine! Oh, well! I had a great meal and a nice time ... onto someone else! Today I am doing not a lot until later when Molly comes over after work ... we are going to hang out and then go for dinner ... the rest of the family went away for the weekend but she had to work so she is home alone ... so we get together! We are going to a really great pub ... not sure what I will order! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I seriously LOVED "Flowers In the Attic" even though it was such a warped story! Did you love it too? We are going to have a nice sunny day today in the high 20's Celsius ... perfect for those going to the Calgary Stampede! What is your weather like today? How is everyone feeling? And anyone's dh's that are under the weather? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good morning. leannec, it's a bummer that it didn't work out, but glad you enjoyed the meal. Sounds like a very nice dinner w/Molly. I enjoyed the Flowers in the Attic series. It was creepy and weird, but a good read. I read it in high school. Dh and I are hiding out in the house, due to the awful heat. 112 yesterday and they expect the same today. ICK! We're finally gonna start the 2 person video game that I bought him for retirement. We have to move some stuff away from the windows, too. Our whole house window install starts on Monday. Another project. Bleh. He's not doing this one. Apart from that, I'll practice some vocal scales and my aria and find stuff to entertain myself. I have to finish my current puzzle, because my reward for finishing is to build the lego that yds and his gf bought for me. My inner child rules the place!!!!!!! I don't have a dinner plan. It might be rechauffe seasoned a/f chicken w/rice and a veggie. Cooking will not be happening, because I do not want to heat up the house. Have a happy, relaxing, fun day, my tribal cuties.

Good evening all.
The weather here is all over the place. It started out really warm quite early this morning, then got up towards hot just after lunch and about an hour ago, the clouds gathered and it is now raining heavily and temperatures are plummeting. My weather app is confused about tomorrow - one the weekly overview list it says it’s going to hit 30C, but the hourly view doesn’t show it going over 20. Whatever temps we get, it will be wet, wet, wet.
We did our weekly big shop this morning, DH mowed the lawn before both the real heat and the rain, and I’ve spent the afternoon watching the Wimbledon tennis and crocheting. We’ll be switching from tennis to football soon, to watch England take on Switzerland in the Euros. Last night didn’t go to plan, with Spain beating Germany with one minute of extra time left.
Dinner tonight is pork with Mexican marinade and homemade coleslaw.

leannec I'm sorry your date didn't go as well as you had hoped. And yes, I read them in like middle school. Scandalous. My parents were not readers. They had absolutely no idea the information I was taking in. But I'm not sure they would have censored even if they did. No one was minding any of us as long as we were out of their hair. I felt my whole life like I was merely an intrusion into my parents life. Hell, I still feel that way now. I'm having a rough day. My mood has been spiraling for days now. I'm hoping today is the peak. I've been on the irritability train for days now. And my brain has been out of control. I went to the farmers market this morning. And of course I didn't have a list. And of course I forgot a million things. Spent $273 anyway. Jeremy says he's going to meijers today. So hopefully he can pick up some of what I missed. I want that pasta with all the veggies. But he's going to push for spaghetti. He even got fancy sausage for his spaghetti and asked me to please serve it with his plateful. I will make some red lentils I think for mine. I'm hoping I can sit still today and do something. But I might just beg Jeremy to take me out of the house for the day because I'm feeling like it's going to be torture to sit still.

The three of us took a walk around Town Center Lakes this morning and were home by 8AM. Already heating up to the high of 112° expected this afternoon. I put a temperature gauge in the garage last night and it read 100°. We taught DS 5Crowns last night and he liked it and did very well. So we'll play more games today and DH might watch some golf. Dinner will be Tacos/Taco Salad.

jeremysgirl, I'm sorry to hear that it's been tougher, lately. I, too hope that today is the worst of it and that you feel better as the day goes on. You have friends here. (((((HUGS)))). I hope that you find stuff that is enjoyable or distracting for you today.

jeremysgirl I hope today is a better day for you. leannec bummer on the guy. But that’s OK. You know what you want. It’s pretty humid here in western New York. It’s about 80° but the humidity sucks. I went next-door and vacuumed my mom‘s pool. The suction was so great on the vacuum part that it took me forever as the sweat is rolling down my face. Lol. But it’s all set for my two wonderful great nephews who are six and four are here with their mom and dad from Florida. it’s my most favorite time of the year when they come next to when I go down there in the winter I need to start and play the lottery because I would buy a house down there in a heartbeat. We desperately need some rain here. Hope everyone has a good day.

leannec - NO one was supervising my reading as a tween and I definitely read some books that I was WAY too young for. Flowers in the Attic was fairly mild in comparision (and yes, I read those also). I don't censor my kids reading but there have been times when I've chosen to either read a book before they did and share my concerns about it and times when we've read a book together so we could discuss it. Obviously with two adults and one who turns 18 in 3months - I don't have much say in their reading anymore but we do have a book thread (the 3 kids and me) on FB chat where we talk about books and share what we're reading so I think we did ok. jeremysgirl - I hope things get easier soon - those spirals are hard to deal with. (((Hugs))) dinner tonight is baked potatoes (choice of white or sweet - DD doesn't eat sweet) and salad.

Happy Saturday!
I took myself for ramen for lunch, changed my mom's insulin pump and picked up prescriptions and groceries. Not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the day- I might play DDLV. I ordered a Switch because there is a new Luigi's Mansion game out for it and I just have the handheld, which I don't like.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I might make stuffed shells or take my parents out to dinner.
Hugs to all those who need them!

Oh and I just had a major score - My DL expires in October and the DMV is taking appointments now for October so I went on the website to make an appointment and I was actually able to renew online until 2032! I had a six year originally so I figured I'd have to go in but nope, I got lucky! One thing less to worry about.

Linda, I just love the fb book thread btwn you and your children. What a fantastic idea. Tearisci, I turned a big number last year, so they made me take the written test for the first time since I was 15. Luckily, I was able to take it online and then bring the paperwork to the DMV in order to get an updated photo. I was very annoyed. christine58, If you really want to move to Florida is there a way to make it happen? ntsf, I would happily jump into that pool w/you and then sit outside on a foggy day. It's H-O-T here. Enjoy today.

I hope you have a better day today jeremysgirl ... For some reason, when I am on a down, I don't really manifest it in my behaviour but I get physical symptoms ... annoying ones like rashes and foot pain.

Bouncing, jittery, bugs crawling on me sensations. My head feels dizzy and very heavy. Almost like a headache but not quite.

Mental and physical health go hand in hand. They truly do. Those are the times when we have to pull out all of our resources and tools to help us get through each moment. jeremysgirl, when you're feeling these sensations and physical symptoms it must be so difficult. ((((HUGS)))).

Today was a workout day for DH at the Y so as soon as he left, I went for my walk outside. I was finished before it got too hot and humid.
DH and I went to get groceries and do a couple of other errands. Home now, everything is put away and I’m enjoying the deck while it’s cool enough to sit outside.
I read the Flowers in the Attic series in late elementary school. I’ve always been an avid reader and my parents never censored or paid attention to what I was reading. However, now my mom and I enjoy the same types of books so we are always trading back and forth. It sounds like there are a lot of readers on this thread. I’d love to know what you guys are currently reading. Can we regularly post when we start a new book? Current read: Courting Trouble by Lisa Scottoline
Not sure about supper yet but it will be some type of grilled meat.

Good morning (it’s still morning here - 11:17). Dh has been doing some honey do projects for me this morning which has been great. Hoping to keep that train going as long as possible. 🤣 No other specific plans today- probably scrapbooking, a long walk along the water, and maybe Costco. Not sure on dinner yet. Something chicken or I’ll say screw it and throw a Costco lasagna in the oven instead.
I know about flowers in the attic - as an adult I had to look it up as I would hear it referenced a lot. Never read it or heard about it when I was younger.

I just love the fb book thread btwn you and your children. What a fantastic idea. Thanks - we also do a book exchange in December where we each draw a name and buy a book for that person (DH is included in that - he got an audio book last year) and the two older kids and I are in a virtual book club that reads a challenge list each year. (DD17 isn't old enough yet - the club rule is 18+) I was channeling you this morning at the market. I bought an eggplant. For my pasta. 😂 You talked about it and it sounded so good I was like I need one too. Lol! enjoy your eggplant - what type did you get? I never realised there were so many different ones until I started getting the farm box. It sounds like there are a lot of readers on this thread. I’d love to know what you guys are currently reading. Can we regularly post when we start a new book? I have three books going right now - Dune as a book, The Overstory by Richard Powers on Libby, and Daughter of Fire by Sofia Robleda on Kindle

I wear glasses now and am definitely not the same weight but I'm pretty sure I'll have to go in in 2032 because that will be 14 years. I did get it in person 6 years ago so maybe that's just the way it is down here.

I went to the bookstore. I was driving Jeremy nuts. He wanted to take a nap, I was pacing....blah, blah, blah. I bought 5 books and got a coffee. Now that I'm home I'm feeling a bit better.
I had said to Jeremy that I was hoping he would plan something for my birthday next Saturday. And he said we'll see. Which usually means no. However, when I returned from the bookstore he said he was heading out to the driving range to hit a bucket of golf balls. I told him I didn't want him to leave. But that I was feeling a bit better and had a stack of new books. I said I'm considering my books to be a birthday present to myself. He said, but I got you a birthday present. I was like, you didn't! I was not expecting that. The present is that he booked the entire weekend next weekend at a little Beach side motel in Ludington just a short walk from Lake Michigan. 😀 I told him to hit two buckets of balls! 😂
Seriously. He booked it last weekend. He knew all along. Clearly he is changing things up and we'll see might be code for, I'm surprising you, lady.

scrapmaven not really. I could go with my mom for three months but I have a dog and there is no way I’m putting her on a plane nor am I driving. Plus most places don’t allow pets so we’ll see what happens down the road. My niece has been talking about moving here in the next six or seven years so we’ll see.

The new grill is, in fact, being delivered tomorrow so dh will spend some time getting it ready for use (it will come preassembled because it is free, so why wouldnt we!) jeremysgirl that is so exciting that you get to go to Ludington! Enjoy the lake and watch for riptides!
