Good morning (it’s still morning here - 11:17). Dh has been doing some honey do projects for me this morning which has been great. Hoping to keep that train going as long as possible. 🤣 No other specific plans today- probably scrapbooking, a long walk along the water, and maybe Costco. Not sure on dinner yet. Something chicken or I’ll say screw it and throw a Costco lasagna in the oven instead. I know about flowers in the attic - as an adult I had to look it up as I would hear it referenced a lot. Never read it or heard about it when I was younger. I'm shocked I tell you! I think you are the first woman in my agish group who has not read it. 😉 If you knew my childhood more it tracks. lol I grew up in a really (really) small remote town. Going to college and then moving to “civilization” was really eye opening in a lot of ways. Just less options for everything. I was a huge reader. Our school library (our only option) likely just didn’t have that book.

Oh, and yes, I read Flowers in the Attic and all the others. Go Ask Alice, and plenty of other things I was too young to be reading.

Flowers in the Attic was one of my favorite series of books. I read them when I was younger and then later as an adult I watched the series on Lifetime. V.C Andrews was one of my favorite authors.
Went out for breakfast today with my sister then we went out checking to see if we could find bottled water. HEB shelves were empty yesterday but we were able to get some today. They had a limit of 2. Praying Beryl doesn't do any damage by us.
For dinner we had chinese food.

jeremysgirl yes we are. I'm in South Texas. News are reporting it could be down to category 1 by the time we get it on late Sunday to Monday. People have their homes boarded up around here, but we didn't do any of that. The city is distributing sand bags if needed. I'm hoping it will die down and not do any damage to anyone.

I've never read flowers in the attic and I am a really big reader.. who knows why it passed by me. Me neither. I think it's because of my age. When I was a tween it was all about Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames, Sue Barton and the like. I might have seen the movie though. Yay for your birthday weekend jeremysgirl!

jeremysgirl ((hugs)) Also I'm with paget, I have never heard of that book. Jeremy is a real keeper! We had a wonderful gathering for the 4th. Too much in leftovers so rechauffe for tonight! Everyone loved the garden and it's transformation. DH has worked hard on it over the last few years so he enjoyed it. Meanwhile at the party the furball attempted a fuchsia assassination. I could see him from the kitchen and started to shout and he ripped out a portion of the plant down to the roots and lots of blossoms. I had just received it for mother's day. The little monster. Good thing God made him extra cute! With the heat wave we've been using more ac than usual. We got a warning from PGE that they anticipate our bill being $642. PGE is a buzz kill. :-)
