Wondering if anyone else has homes with this type of coincidence............ The house on the west side of us was owned by a couple from the New Orleans area when we moved in.
He died and she later moved to live with their daughter. The house was sold to a couple from New Orleans. Later they returned to Louisiana and sold the house to a man from Louisiana. None of these people knew one another or had connections to one another.
The house on the east side of us has had 4 owners in the time we have lived here. Every homeowner (at least one of the couple) has been an accountant or CPA except for the third owner. The current owners -man is accountant and his wife is a CPA.

The only coincidence I can think of is this: We bought a house that was being built in the late 80's with the intention of selling it and turning a profit. We ended up selling it for $150,000 more than we paid for it less than 8 months later. Several years later we had moved into the same neighborhood and that other house went on the market. Soon after it sold, my sister called and told me some friends of theirs from their time in the Navy bought the house. Small world. When they decided to sell many years later, DH was their Real Estate agent. The house sold for about a million dollars and is now worth about $2,700,000. We originally paid about $350,000.

We had a clump of 9 neighboring homes in my former neighborhood (all either shared boundaries or were directly across from each other) and all were owned with their husbands by either a Kathy, Debby or Susan. It stayed that way for many, many years, including when one Kathy sold to a Susan, another Kathy sold to a Debby, and a different Debby sold to another Debby.
Boomers, obvs. 😅

The property we built our home on (we sold/moved a double wide trailer off of the foundation and built our home on the existing foundation) was the childhood home of one of my co-workers. He lived there as a kid and his parents sold the property to my in-laws so my husband spent his teen years there. We bought the property from the in-laws 20+ years ago. Not quite the same type of coincidence that librarylady is referring to but I found it interesting.

here's my coincidence.
at our last house, we met the former owners of the house next door. fast forward 17 years and we move to the current house. unbeknownst to us, the owner of the house directly across the street from our current house is the sister of the next door neighbor from the old house. new neighbor's husband was the former boss of our other neighbor at the old house. the old neighbor was the one who introduced his boss to the sister living across the street from us now. what...a...small....world. we have lived in two houses right next to or across from two sisters. all without prior knowledge of the sisters being related.

We used to live in small town on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. It's right down south.
Hubby and I were on a driving holiday down the coast from Queensland to home. We stopped into a town called Narooma which is approximately 700km from home. We checked in to a small motel and the people that ran the motel, used to live in our house. We didn't know them at all as they had moved prior to us moving to the town. We couldn't believe the coincidence.

I have a James on the left and a Jim on the right. Across the street is a Bob and next door is Robert. The next House up the street, there is a Bill and across from that house is a William.
All pretty common names But still pretty coincidental. There are no similarities in the wive's names.

My DH’s name is R*******. In our current house, when we first moved in, we had a R******* next door, and a R******* behind us.

My mother's father grew up in the same house MY father grew up in. Weird thing is, I was 18 and my sister 14 before we knew my grandfather grew up in the house that my other grandparents lived in... oh, we THOUGHT you knew! My family... and uninteresting things, they repeated forever...
And both sets of grandparents only lived about 10 minutes apart.

The one I can think of is when we first moved in, all three neighbors were single men (each side of us and behind us). And the 2 on the sides are named Jim. The one behind is Jimmy.

This isn't my coincidence but I thought it was funny. Our very good friends live in Kingwood (in the Houston area) and just went through Hurricane Beryl. My sister-in-law mentioned to me yesterday that they were having a hard time getting hold of her very elderly aunt and uncle in the Houston area. I asked her where they lived down there and she said Kingwood so I had her give me their address and I would have my friend check on them. I googled both addresses and it turns out they lived pretty close to each other. I thought that was kind of crazy that in an area the size of the Houston metro that they lived just a short distance from each other. They did finally contact them before I could get hold of my friend and they were fine. No power and spotty cell service. Just like my friend. lol

About a week after moving into our home, my son was in the backyard and found a class ring. I put two and two together and figured it had to belong to the people we purchased the house from. When I contacted them, they said it was their daughter's ring she lost over 20 years prior when she slipped it off to put baby oil on when she was sunbathing. I thought it was somewhat of a coincidence thehy never found the ring and we found it within one week of living here.

TXMary reminded me of a story... MIL was visiting with a new acquaintance and the person said she had a son in Texas. (They were in northern Missouri) MIL: Oh, I have a son in Texas also. Mine is in Dallas. ...conversation went on and the new person's son lives about 4 houses from us. My MIL thought the new person was just trying to tag onto her family. The last name is very unusual so we were able to confirm that we knew them and they really did live here.

For 18 years I lived in a house that the house number and the first 3 digits of my driver license were the same. This was true for all of my relatives with the same last name as me. My FIL used to play it in the daily lottery and won quite a few times!

DH and I built a house after we got married. We sold the house in 2005. I am a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, and in 2015 or so, I was leading my DD's troop and I took a class on the higher awards (Gold Award, Silver Trefoil, etc). We got a couple examples from other Girl Scouts and the forms they filled out when submitting for the awards. As I looked thru the examples, one of them provided the address of our first house! I know it was them because of course the address, but also the last name of the buyers.
