Hi everyone! I'm posting early because I am meeting my mum soon for breakfast at Denny's! Those are my only plans today ... It is going to be hot and sunny ... and only get hotter through the week ... we go to the rodeo at the Calgary Stampede on Wednesday and it is supposed to be 30 degrees Celsius! Too hot for me This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I don't order fancy drinks at Starbucks ... Trenta black iced tea with no water, no sweetener and no ice ... I take it home and pour some into my own glass and add ice ... sooooo good! Dinner is, of course, up in the air! How are you feeling today jeremysgirl and rymeswithpurple? And anyone I forgot! What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

I was at the bookstore yesterday. They have a Starbucks cafe in there. After I paid for my books I went for a coffee. I just said medium regular coffee. He said the cream and sugar are behind you. I said black is fine. Then I said I must be your most boring customer of the day, huh? And sort of laughed. He did not feel like joking. So I just walked away.
I don't know exactly how I'm feeling today. I guess I feel a whole lot calmer than I did yesterday. So I think maybe my bipolar is better. There is just something personal going on that's been going on for the past three weeks. And it comes and goes and this morning something happened that triggered my sadness all over again. I'll be alright. I just have been riding some real waves of sadness lately and it's been just really impacting my mood.
Jeremy is going golfing here shortly. I feel silly because I really don't want him to go. I don't know why I feel so strongly about it. But I am not going to say anything about it. I've got some laundry going. I need a shower. I think I'll make that spaghetti tonight.

Happy Sunday!
I'm waiting for my nephew to come over and connect my new Switch to my tv. I got my xBox hooked up by myself but can't figure out the Switch. Then I'm taking lunch to my sister.
I got some sad news last night. My good friend's husband is in hospice and isn't expected to make it much longer. He's had Parkinson's and dementia and stopped eating. He's been in a home for a few years now but he used to be so vital. He even ran the Boston Marathon after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and he and my friend opened up a pizza restaurant. I'm just gutted and couldn't sleep last night. He's only a year older than me. I'll be back home in a few weeks so I'll be seeing her, but it's just so tragic,
I don't have a clue what's for dinner tonight. I'd like to go swimming this afternoon as it's going to be 97, but we'll play it by ear.
Have a great day!

jeremysgirl , big hugs. DH and I walked while we let DS sleep. He was lucky as we came home totally exhausted and sweaty. It's brutal out there. Plus there is a fire about 20 minutes east of us so I couldn't open the windows and turn on the whole house fan to cool off the house. Dinner will be Tri-Tip roast with corn-on-the-cob. We'll be playing more games today.

It has been a cool and rainy Sunday here. As usual, we went to church this morning and I have come home with 3 large plastic tubs to sort through. I was told there were First Communion stuff, but there is a lot of other things in there too, much of it quite outdated. I don’t have a time limit, so I’ll do a bit each day until it’s done. I think our paper recycling is going to fill up as I work through it.
DH is in charge of dinner tonight. He is making Greek marinated lamb steaks with Greek salad and a pasta salad.

Good morning. leannec , have a yummy breakfast and chat w/your mom. jeremysgirl , I truly hope that you feel better as the day goes on. How I wish that you didn't have to suffer through this stuff. I'm wishing for a much better day than you anticipate. Tearisci , dh hooked up our Switch to the tv, yesterday. We're waiting for the microSD card to arrive today and then we can start our game. I play DDLV as a handheld game. Hogwarts Legacy is on my desktop. Have fun today. cadoodlebug, punishing heat just sucks. Bleh. Enjoy your games today. Have a nice evening w/your dh, sueg . I have to run to the store. After that, I will be doing small stuff. Dinner is chicken and potatoes from the grocery deli. It's way too hot to cook and dh requested this. Enjoy today, my tribe.

I’m on my own for a few days and will have rechauffe ribs or brisket Karen sent home with me yesterday along with potato salad and a tossed salad.
DS went to dd’s house to cat sit while they’re on vacation. DS had a terrible morning and then dd started texting about her bad morning. I’m tempted to turn off my phone. I feel badly that dd and her dso brought Ally with them to California on what was supposed to be an adult vacation. Ally’s father could not coordinate care for her while he works so her four week visit got canceled.

Good morning, all. I missed the last couple of days so I’m out of touch. Sorry you are having a rough time, jeremysgirl. Hope today goes better than anticipated. Today will be cooler (but still HOT) than the last few. Thank goodness. I actually had to turn off the fan by my bed during the night. My sisters and I (mostly my sisters) have been going through boxes here and throwing things out, while rescuing a few gems. For some reason my house has become the repository for everyone’s stuff that no one wants to keep but no one wants to throw out, either. We have now tossed my grandparents’ entire collection of slides (mostly not-very-interesting photos from their travels) and most of their printed photos (same). Saved the family photos we wanted to keep. We also found memorabilia from my late DH’s childhood in a box my SIL had dumped here years ago. Obviously I am not very good at staying on top of these things by myself. Tonight my visiting sister and I are invited to dinner with the gentleman friend and his adult kids. I understand we’re having grilled salmon, green beans from his garden, and cilantro lime rice (that was at my request). We are bringing chocolate cream pie (because his kids love it and I am busy trying to make them like me) and Haagen-Dasz bars (because ice cream).

Just home from a big bike ride by the waterfront with DH. I escaped unharmed but I did bail off my bike at a corner when an older lady pulled out in front of me. She stoped at the corner for DH but as I was going thru she pulled out in front of me. I turned sharp to avoid her and hit the curb. The bike was falling and I jumped off and thankfully landed on my feet with all body parts intact and no damage to my bike. The lady didn’t even stop to see if I was okay.
After the ride, we stopped for pulled pork French fries and ice cream. That totally made up for my small mishap.
Supper tonight is grilled steak.

The grill is being delivered shortly, but I had already planned to airfry some frozen chicken filets and we will have them on the buns bought for the failed pulled pork with buffalo sauce and cole slaw mix. Maybe bleu cheese dressing if I have any. Last night for the spaghetti salad and I might steam some broccoli. Or I might just serve raw veggies.

I just found out that my friend's husband passed away this morning. I'll see her in a few weeks but I'm just heartbroken for her. He was in memory care for the past few years so the Dave that she knew as a husband went away a long time ago. She's having guilt now that she didn't do enough and wondering what she could have done differently. I hope she gets some peace and can move on.

maybe thai takeout. very very foggy day.. now about 1 mile visibility.. was 2 blocks when I went to church. being lazy today.. should go down and work on the basement. we have a new car, so I need to figure out this week selling our other car.. a friend of a friend is flying down to buy our outback, but dh is going to be gone.. and his. name is on the car. will be glad to be back to two cars.. not three. new neighbors moving in next door.. a single mom with a child. it is a small house so should be good for them.
we had city employees marking the street yesterday.. they are putting in curb cuts.. and we will lose all the regular street parking places we use. there is parking still just not as handy. we always park our cars on the street.

It’s been a nice lazy day so far. We went to church, ran an errand at the paint store and then went to a state park that has a nice cafe for brunch. I reserved an outside table with a beautiful view of the water and beach and had some delicious brioche French toast and bacon. We drove around a little after that exploring. Now we are home and dh is going to do a could more things on the honey do list and I just took a mini nap. Not sure about dinner actually. At the moment I feel too lazy to cook. TBD. Yesterday turned out a little different than expected as we go to meet up nearby to have lunch with dd3 who was on her way to some Friends home for a party near-ish us.

Tuesday is DH's birthday and we always buy a big ice cream cake so we started eating it today so DS can enjoy it with us for the next 2-3 days. We were playing cards so we had a slice for an afternoon snack since we're always too full after dinner! It was delicious ~ I had a tiny sliver.

(((Hugs))) jeremysgirl - I hope you're feeling more yourself soon. Bipolar sucks! Tearisci - I'm so sorry about your friend's husband. Prayers for the repose of his soul and comfort for his wife. dinner here is roast lamb, mashed acorn squash, and I'm cooking an ear of corn for dd17 who won't touch the squash, lol. DH and I don't really enjoy eating corn on the cob anymore and we got some in the farm box so...

@tearici I am so sorry about your friend's husband. She is lucky to have you as a supportive friend during this time.
I have had a lovely day puttering around the house and I am now sitting on my deck enjoying a beverage and reading a book. I took a few minutes to check in here. I just talked to DS for a bit. He tends to call and chat while he’s cooking dinner. I wonder if he realizes how much joy his calls bring to my day?
I hope the week ahead brings all of you moments of wonder and happiness!

jeremysgirl I hope you’re day got better. Tearisci so sorry for your friend. I’ve been busy the past few days at the lake. So much cooking & cleaning. I’m exhausted tonight. I did make a cherry, peach& tomato burratta with a broccoli slaw and cranberry salad. Dh grilled steak. I don’t remember eating peaches & tomatoes together but it was delicious. I’ll make it again later this week too.

Hi, all! Sorry I've been MIA. Thank you for checking in/tagging me, leannec. DH and I went up to Gettysburg on Saturday. We make an annual trip up since it's only 1 1/2 hours from us. It was incredibly hot, so we only stopped a few times on the driving tour. I sort of have answers, but sort of don't. I had messaged my doctor about the results, and she said, "For the EBV panel, elevated IgG and nuclear antigen Ab with normal IgM levels suggests a past infection, rather than an acute infection. We can't say the timing of the infection for certain based on the panel, but having the nuclear antigen antibodies suggests at least 6-8 weeks ago (or much longer). It's possible given how long your symptoms have been going on that this was Mono, but not less likely. For the elevated WBC, with normal differential percentiles and no fever, I want to wait on the throat culture before a second round of antibiotics. Steroids can very commonly elevated the WBC count and we did recently complete the five-day course. Let me know what ENT says Wednesday." I am not entirely sure what her phrasing "but not less likely" means - so it probably was mono, not something else? 🤔🤔🤔 karenlou, you work with doctors...can you translate for me? 🤕 I'm just tired of being tired, y'all.
