I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if I am using this wrong or what...but I have to confess myself disapointed in the new TH spritz spray. I bought Fossilized Amber, based on this video TH did showing how it worked. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy5a8V15AdEI followed his steps exactly, even letting the paper dry longer after heating it and when I ran my fingers over the sparkle it all rubbed off. I was bummed because I thought, omg, is this the new Colorshine??? Sadly, it did not work for me the way it worked for him in the video. Is anyone having better luck than me? I can't seem to find a shimmer gold that doesn't rub off. I have the distress stain in bronze, but it's pretty dark and not like the Heidi Swapp stuff. ETA He shows rubbing the sparkle and it staying put at 1 hr 19 min, just a few seconds after.

I don't know anything about science, but could it be an air/humidity thing?

To me it looked like some of the shine wore off. He never showed his thumb/finger but after some sections didn't look as shiney. But that is just me.

I’m definitely going to watch this thread. I have a bunch of the colors in my cart at ACOT. I’ve had excellent luck with Shimmerz products and may just stick with them if Tim’s sprays are not great quality.

I hope others chime in with their experiences as they use this too, as it could totally be me. The color was just lovely, which is why I was so excited at first!

I bought all the colors, I love sparkly things!!! I've only swatched mine so far, some do rub off. It may make a difference based on the paper that you use and if there's other product under it.
These are a clear liquid with colored mica (I think). Where his Distress Mica Spray's are colored liquid with colored mica, so more coverage on their own vs. the new Spritz.

Well boooooo. Thanks for posting this. Hate you are having this problem!!
I have the mica sprays and the smear TERRIBLY. I have the complete set (idiot, bought without trying first), and over the weekend listed them for sale in a FB group. I had intentions of replacing them with the spritzes specifically because there were not supposed to smear. I may hold off on that.
Jenn McGuire used the spritzes in a video the other day, and claimed they do not smear.

I just watched another video of someone using them. They show up great on dark paper/cardstock.

thanks for the candid review! this is what i was waiting to learn--- do they rub off. too bad they do. it's very reminiscent of the tattered angels and other glimmer mists that i used to own. i don't own them anymore because of that rubbing off problem. i kind of swore off glimmer sprays after that. i still have tons of the TH stains in dabber form and now i just pour them in mini spray bottles and use them that way. no shimmer but no rubbing off.

I promise my below questions are not to be contrary...just trying to understand the problem better as I have some of them, too. Will the shimmer rub off on a page protector once the layout is placed inside? What about if used on a card - will it rub off on the envelope in transit? Or is it just rubbing off when touched with your fingers/smudged?

? Or is it just rubbing off when touched with your fingers/smudged? if they are anything like shimmer sprays of the past, they tend to really rub off on more porous or slightly moist surfaces like your fingers and clothing. there has to be some friction to get that rubbing going.

Long time user (and former DT) for Imagine/Tsukineko and their shimmer sprays and FireWorks! sprays do not rub off at all. Once I accidentally spilled my bottle of Dandelion (yellow) and soaked it up with cardstock. Have used that to die cut a variety of things for a few different projects. Back in the day when the only mica powder was Pearl Ex made by Jacquard you needed to mix it with Guar gum to keep it on the paper. Still have my original jars and instructions. Maybe the new spray isn't formulated well?

A Jennifer McGuire video featuring Perfect Pearls recommended using a spray fixative with them, although it's not strictly necessary per Ranger's product instructions. Would that be an option for use with these sprays as well?
