Good morning.
This week is dedicated to replacing all of the windows in this house. I hate having so much chaos and strangers in my space. It'll be a good thing to have the old windows gone. I'll be doing a lot of puzzle time and I'm going to continue my search for a knitting lesson.
Dinner will be rechauffe chicken from the grocery store deli for dh.
What's on your menu?
What do you have planned this week?
May this week bring happiness, calm, things to look fwd to and lots of smiles to everyone.

Happy Monday!
I solved the Wordle in two guesses today, setting me up for a good day.
Had an early dr appointment this morning and I'm just a smidge over the line for being diabetic. The good news is that my insurance should cover Ozempic. I've been paying out of pocket so that will be some savings.
I'm in Social posting mode this week which is what I really like to do so I'll be plugging away at that.
Dinner tonight will either be spaghetti or stuffed shells. Probably just spaghetti because stuffed shells seems like a lot for a Monday.
Hope you all have a great day!

New windows will be awesome scrapmaven! I'm going shopping for a new mattress with my mum this morning ... she has springs poking through hers! Then we'll go to the home decor store that we both like ... She will be here for dinner ... it is going to be insanely hot here today so I don't think I will cook ... we will probably have Subway.

I'm just a smidge over the line for being diabetic. I'm surprised your doctor wouldn't give you time to get your numbers below the line before putting you on meds. My doctor is on the conservative side so he gave me 3 months and that was in 2017. Just my non-doctor opinion. scrapmaven , you will LOVE your new windows! Tonight we're having pizza so no cooking for me! DS has decided to stay until Wednesday since he came up a day later than originally planned We watched a new-to-us game show The 1% Club on Fox and it was fun.

I was surprised too because I'm right on the line and everything I'm reading says you need two consecutive tests to make a firm determination. I go back and see her in 3 months so I'm hoping I can get the numbers down a bit.

Good luck - I hope it's helpful for you I'm going shopping for a new mattress with my mum this morning ... she has springs poking through hers! definitely overdue time for mattress shopping woohoo - now the pressure is on - how many will it take me? Dinner tonight is leftover roast lamb from last night, DH will have the leftover mashed acorn squash...I didn't care for the texture, I'll roast up some veggies and make a peach crisp to go with the peaches and cream ice cream I picked up.

I'll be doing a lot of puzzle time and I'm going to continue my search for a knitting lesson. Yes I really hope you find that knitting lesson. I feel like you would just have so much more confidence and it would push you over the hump. I'm going shopping for a new mattress with my mum this morning ... she has springs poking through hers! Well, talk about waiting until the last moment. LOL! Thank you for all the well wishes the past couple of days. I didn't come back yesterday because I just couldn't. But reading all your posts this morning made me smile. I'm still in a weird place, but, today I'm having a bit more luck beating away (in therapist speak, I'm "redirecting") the crazy thoughts. I also called me therapist and she was at least able to bump my appointment from Friday to Wednesday. I think that will be better because it gives me a couple more days to get my mental shit together and I won't have a therapy appointment on Friday when I'm leaving for the weekend and I'd like to be able to just look forward all day on Friday. If I can just keep my brain on task, I should be able to enjoy my weekend. Squirrely brain. I have just returned from my office. I was going to work in there for a while, but they had the air off all weekend. And then my desk has two floor to ceiling walls. Even though the blinds were closed it was at least 10 degrees warmer at my desk than in the center of the building. You all know how I feel about hot weather. Felt swampy and uncomfortable. So, I came home to be comfortably cool and be with my dog and cats. Jeremy was a really good sport about dinner last night. I just didn't feel like making it. I had a banana and then a bowl full of cherries and blueberries and called that good. Tonight I will make him the spaghetti he's been craving.

tearisci.. I was just over the border on the numbers too. my doctor recommended an education program--pick any local hospital for such--and I did find it extremely helpful. with that knowledge, and without meds, I dropped 75 lbs in 6 months.. and my numbers aren't perfect, but are almost there. adding serious exercise and the right diet.
so I really suggest such a program or meet with nutritionist, even if you take meds.. and get some more expert advice.
dh is doing his colonoscopy prep today.. so I'm not sure what is for dinner tonight. maybe salad and grilled chicken.
last night, the dog was limping around, and dh and dd took a look.. blood in his paw.. and dh held the dog while dd was able to take a out a possible foxtail from his paw.with a tweezer. we washed it out and put gauze and wrapper on it. and the dog slept all night. so hopefully that takes care of it.
my dh is a gem.. I totally messed up my photo library on my laptop and dh figured it out and restored it. he only does tech support cheerfully for me!!

ntsf, I wish your dh a normal, healthy result. Meanwhile, Bottoms up today. Your poor doggie. He must be comfy and happy doggie. Tearisci, I'm surprised that your doctor wants to medicate you right away w/a slightly high number on one poke. ITA, that a great nutritionist is worth his or her weight in gold. Linda, how many tries did it take to get the word? jeremysgirl, you have friends here. This is a great place to help unburden yourself. You are spot on about the knitting lesson. That will make all the difference in the world.

For a knitting lesson, see if your community or one near it has a knitting group. They are often run by the senior citizen center in my area, but I believe anyone can go. You may be able to find help there. Dh and I are having tuna sandwiches for dinner while DS has a dinner with work people. DS is closing on his house on Friday (he was 4 when I joined 2 peas!).

Mmm... tuna...I have been pretty much doing well with my plant based eating. One day, the pizza commercials on the show Jeremy was watching really got to me. Now, I suddenly crave tuna. I guess I should be grateful that in the past four weeks, that's been about the extent of cravings I can't satisfy. Although, we will go to Ludington this weekend and there is a good food stand that is right on the beach. The homemade ice cream is to die for and they give you like half a gallon in your scoop. I *will* break my plant based eating to have an ice cream cone. Like I already know it and I'm already planning it, so when it comes, I will not be mentally beating myself up for it or guilting myself into not having it.

Our summer has returned, at least for a few days.
Mostly a quiet day here - I had to call my GP to reschedule my blood tests, as the hospital rang me Friday afternoon to give me and appointment for a PET scan and they want a recent blood test. I needed to go in anyway, as I need the proper referral for hospital admission from her as well. It took me 3 attempts to get the Wordle - I had 3 letters in the correct position on my first attempt, then took me 2 more to fill the gaps! I also managed to get Connections, Strands and the mini-crossword quickly this morning - my brain was on fire!
Dinner tonight is grilled chicken in BBQ sauce, with sauted potato and onion and a salad.

Hottest day of the week is today and then we are gearing up for the effects of Hurricane Beryl. We won’t see anything major, just a whole lot of rain.
YDS is here today so DH can replace a part on his girlfriend’s car. They have air conditioning in the garage and a fridge full of beverages so they won’t be suffering!
I’ve been asked to take grandboy #3 to soccer tonight unless it’s cancelled due to heat. DDIL has to take grandboy #1 to baseball and DS is working late doing heat checks on the tracks. I’m hoping the game is cancelled because I hate seeing the kids play in the heat.
Supper tonight will be leftover steak.

I have a hair appointment tonight, everyone will fend for themselves. We replaced most of our windows shortly after we moved into this house. They were still the old wooden windows that were so hard to open. Now it's so easy to open and clean them too! Still not 3rd shower update... It is hot and humid, SO was able to leave work at 11:30 this morning, but now he's home doing yard work.

I only had 2 letters, not in the right place, in my first Wordle try. Got it in 4, DH was a 2 and DS was a 5! He usually beats me.
DS bought the movie Hachi: A Dog's Tale with Richard Gere (2009) on Amazon for us to watch tonight. I hear it's a tear jerker.

There are still ribs and brisket left from Saturday, however I am "beefed out" so I will grill some boneless skinless chicken thighs and have a salad.. DH can finish up the cole slaw and potato salad along with his meat
I worked last night and it wasn't a bad night...however there was a power outage... Do you know how pitch black it is in the inner sanctum of the OR without windows😱😱😱 Thank goodness the generator kicked in fairly quickly!!

Good Afternoon!
I am back from a great vacation! We had a fabulous time on the lake. The house we rented was perfect. The cove we were in was quiet for most of the week so we were comfortable with the kids swimming and kayaking off the dock. Overall, it was just a fun, lowkey week. It's a little bittersweet because my parents have decided to move back here so that was probably the last big trip we will take there as a family.
I was offline all week. It felt so good to disconnect. I sat out on the porch every night and read a couple of books. Had some nice talks with my brother. I just feel so energized now.
Today has been a busy work day. I expected that after being gone all last week. It's all good.
I'll try to go back and see what everyone has been up to.
Dinner will be pork chops on the grill. I hope when I leave work I can still find some corn on the cob on my way home.

Hope the window replacement goes well scrapmaven. Ours were done a few months after we moved in and made a huge difference. I’m alone and will probably have rechauffe for dinner. I have corn on the cob that needs to be eaten as well as ribs from Karen that I didn’t eat last night.

Today is a perfect summer day. High 80’s but not too humid. I cleaned and refilled all of my bird feeders and cleaned about a quarter of the garage. We had a roof put on a few weeks ago and everything in the garage is covered in dirt from that. It’ll take all week for me to get the whole thing done. DD is bringing Princess Norah here for dinner. She is almost 2 months and has almost doubled her 5 pound birth weight and she is smiling up a storm. She’s having breast milk and DD and I are having hotdogs with my dad’s recipe for sauce. I made it for the 4th and t he’s a bit left over.
Enjoy your Monday everyone!

It's been a hot and humid day. Thankfully Hurricane Beryl made a turn and didn't come our way. We did get winds and rain but that's about it. Today it's been raining on and off with thunder and lightning.
We had chicken pot pie for dinner.

Judy26, how wonderful that your dgd has doubled her birth weight. At his tiniest ods was 3.9 lbs. Every pound was a milestone. Sounds like a great way to spend your evening. The Birdhouse Lady, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been so ill. And "BOO" that it kept you from cuddling baby Hudson. I hope that you feel better quickly. Now you'll have to spend even more time holding your little guy. Grandmas are so lucky. Someday...

Hot here too. I got the Wordle in 3 tries. Is anyone doing Strands? I like it better than Connections. I had to do some garden maintenance. The deer are eating over my fencing. 1 of my tomato plants is massive. It needed more staking. A bunch of dahlias needed staking too. Dd2 and I ran errands. I dropped a bunch of stuff to her house because she’s having a garage sale this weekend. Saves me a trip to VOA Didn’t feel like cooking so we had grilled cheese with tomato soup and pickles. ntsf I hope your dh gets a clean result.
