Good morning. It's day 2 of window installation. The guys are really friendly and know what they're doing, but the noise is a bit overwhelming. I don't like loud noises and I am going to utilize my headset today.
Dinner will be takeout, because they're going to be working in the kitchen area today.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today?
What's up today?
Wishing a calm, comforting, happy day to all!

Good afternoon, Another lovely day here. I walked to the store earlier to get vegetables for dinner, before it got too hot. We had workmen in just before lunch - they were checking our drains because of all the rain we’ve had lately. I had to let them into the garden, but at least they didn’t have to come through the house. More crochet happening today - I am nearly finished with joining all the squares for my cardigan.
Dinner tonight is a Mediterranean vegetable bake - eggplant, zucchini, peppers, red onions and tomatoes (maybe some others, depending what’s in the fridge) tossed in olive oil and herbs, then at the end I’ll crumble some feta over the top.

Hi ladies. My mood is starting to level out. I'm glad about that. My enthusiasm for this weekend is starting to escalate too. I just love the idea of sitting on the beach with Jeremy, doing nothing, talking, reading books, eating ice cream. Can I just say that guy is perfect for me? I don't think anybody else in my entire almost 49 years has ever known me so well.
I had all my meetings cancelled for the rest of the day. I'm going to run a report. And then I'm going to maybe start my new blanket. Dinner tonight will be a vegan version of gumbo. It will sub red beans and garbanzo beans for the meat. I think even Jeremy will like it.
I'm getting pretty excited because I really do believe that by this weekend, I will have three zucchini and a cucumber ready from my garden.

I was out early for my annual eye exam....not to be confused with my monthly eye injection😱😱 I did a couple of errands on my way home, prescription at CVS, mailed a couple of things and the ALL important wine pick up, and an iced coffee from Starbucks!!!
I took sausage out to grill for dinner, will sauté peppers and onion to go with, along with the usual salad.
scrapmaven....sorry you have to endure the noise...however it will be worth it to have the new windows!!!

It is freaking hot here this week and I don't like it! . Had so much trouble sleeping last night because of the heat ... wish I had A/C! My teacher friend is coming over to help me build my new patio set ... it is in a box right now and I don't feel capable on my own so he volunteered to help me ... I'm so grateful! Sometimes I am not as independent as I would like to be but oh well! I have no idea what dinner will be ... it's too hot to cook!

sueg Your dinner sounds amazing! As does yours jeremysgirl. And while you are lucky to have found the perfect guy in Jerem, he is even luckier to have found you! I am on day two of cleaning out the garage after having our roof replaced. It’s quite humid today so I won’t be cooking anything hot for dinner. Perhaps an egg salad sandwich on rye bread. That sounds doable and not to heavy in this heat.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm just plugging along with social postings which I really like to do. I have a call this afternoon with my team and I'm hoping that a former co-worker/friend can freelance with us for some blogging. I really enjoy working with her so I'm going to pitch hard for her.
I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I'm thinking about stopping by the Honey Baked store and grabbing some ham for this week. I have leftover spaghetti but I'm not sure I feel like it tonight. My parents may come over and it's not enough for us all.
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Tuesday! I was out early this morning for a dr appt. Just my annual checkup. I just love my dr. He is so easy going and a good listener. jeremysgirl I am happy you are getting away. The beach is my happy place. Actually, any time I am near water it makes me happy. scrapmaven how long will the installation take? It is raining here and is supposed to the rest of the day and night. We are getting the remnants of Beryl. I have a meeting tonight so DH will have rechauffe.

Had so much trouble sleeping last night because of the heat ... wish I had A/C! Oh no! I am a hot weather wimp too. But I have A/C. Although I'm terrified to see my next bill. And while you are lucky to have found the perfect guy in Jerem, he is even luckier to have found you! This was very sweet! Just very sweet! The beach is my happy place. Actually, any time I am near water it makes me happy. Jeremy and I do not have a lot in common. But give us a beach and we are both happy.

stormsts, it's nice to see you back here. The windows will be in by Friday and then next week they have some outside work to do on the stucco for the first couple of days. We have super nice installers and they're doing most of their work from the outside. Man, do I ever need to dust my office. You don't see how bad stuff gets until you do a project. leannec, I'm glad that you have someone who can help you build your patio set. cadoodlebug, Happy Birthday to Mr. Cadoodlebug. Enjoy the day w/your son. karenlou, I wish you didn't have to do the shots, though I'm sure you REALLY wish you didn't have to do them. sueg, relax and enjoy your evening. Judy26, cole slaw sounds perfect w/that sandwich, though it's lots of mayo. Tearisci, Honeybaked has good turkey, as well if you want some variety. I really like that you can buy quarter hams during the year. BTW-it freezes well for 2 months. jeremysgirl, ITA w/ Judy26. Jeremy is very lucky to have found such a great wife. He's a good guy and you're a great catch. I'm happy to read that you're feeling better. You're gonna have a blast this weekend. Woohoo!

so I ended up making lemon pepper chicken last night, so we will have salad and leftovers. dh's colonoscopy was fine.. a few small polyps so come back in three years. missed my exercise class but ok. took dog out in the cold foggy damp morning. under 60 degrees.
dh has his birthday tomorrow.. getting an echo cardiogram tomorrow, as am I, I have a zoom meeting in the afternoon, and we are going to the giants baseball game tomorrow night.
we woke up to the city posting signs on our sidewalks up and down the block for no parking yesterday for a week. I pointed out to the crew that they need to give us prior notice.. they agreed it should be 48 hours.. (it is really is 72 hours).. and the big machines are out digging up the street to put in curb cuts. we will lose about 6 parking spots right at our house.. and though there is lots of parking for sf, it will be a pain, cause we may not be able to park in front of our house. and the curb cuts are right next to the driveways. I am not happy but can't do much about it. we park our cars on the street.. drive way is too short, and parking in garage is difficult and I only do it when gone for a week or more. and construction noise for the next few days. `the house lots are around 25-35 ft wide.. and so there is space, driveway, space, driveway.

Hey all - no power now for hours! So frustrated when I have so much to do! Luckily we're not seeing the heat the rest of the country seems to be experiencing, so no a/c hasn't bothered me yet. Definitely picking something up tonight for dinner. Even if we get power, I'll be deep in catch up mode and everyone has busy/long days at work today so can't push it off on someone else! Stay cool all!

Sloppy Joes for dinner tonight. I forgot I turned the AC down last night so I could sleep, the previous night was too hot. I usually bring it back up when I leave. Ooops. It will be chilly in there and I am fine with that!

sorry jeremysgirl!! no cats for me. we have an "extra" bedroom with a bed, but the door is off the hinges and dh hasn't fixed it yet. and I am about to get rid of the bed and dresser and put up a work table.. has my sewing machine in that room though!!
we always laugh about visitors to SF.. so often they think it is california like the movies. and in july and august, it is often cold, foggy and windy. least amount of air conditioning for any city in the country.

ntsf, glad to hear that your dh had a healthy result, but it's a bummer that they found polyps. Even hyperplastic (do not become cancerous) polyps earn you a membership into the every 3 years club. Blech. I grew up in an area that was cool all the time. In the summer if it was 75 everyone would run to the library, because it was the only place w/air conditioning. Our squash hates this extreme heat. We have a bit of a break today, as it will likely be in the high 90's and I'm hoping that will stave off the demise of our squash. On the other hand, the corn is growing by leaps and bounds.

The part that DH and YDS were replacing on his girlfriend’s car yesterday was the wrong part. It was ordered online and the company sent the incorrect one. I made a trip into the city this morning to take it to the return depot so it could be sent back. What a pain!
However, I also was able to pick up some ink cartridges for my printer, purchase a couple tops and a pair of capris at the mall and have a Big Mac for lunch. So it ended up being a productive trip.
I seriously could not live without air conditioning!! It’s crazy humid today and tonight the rain will start.
Is anyone else watching Love Island USA? It’s kind of embarrassing to admit that I’m watching it but I just can’t turn away. Sooo much drama.
Supper will be grilled pork chops, grilled potatoes and tangy dill pickle coleslaw.

taylortroop, I'm one smut show away from Love Island. I watch The Bachelor, Married at First sight, Love is Blind. So, heaven knows why I don't watch Love Island. As much as I want to SMH everytime I watch one of those shows, I must admit that they're fun to watch.

jeremysgirl - so glad things are looking up. The weekend sounds lovely and your garden is doing SO well. (((Hugs))) for everyone without A/C - mine runs nearly yearround. DD17 cooks tonight - orange chicken, stirfry veg, cauliflower rice, and I think a box of frozen eggrolls.

Haven’t seen Love Island but I hear the UK one is way better than ours. Luke & I had music & movement this morning. 1st we went to the diner nearby for breakfast, then to Target for a pickup and the playground. He’s had enough for today I think. Dh is golfing tonight so I’ll possibly have a shrimp pasta. jeremysgirl I love the beach. Unfortunately dh is allergic to something there. He breaks out in hives every time. My only hope is if the girls invite me on one of their trips. Dd1 is going to Va Beach the same time I’ll be in Italy so not this year. Dd2 can’t leave the country while her dh is in the immigration change. I thought he applied for a green card but it’s just a different visa. Dd3 can’t vacation this year. She’s broke. leannec I don’t need a lot of AC but I need it this week. scrapmaven you’ll be so happy when that’s done. Any project leads to mess for me.

teddyw, the new Bachelorette did start, but I Record it and watch it as a binge watch when the season is over. If you have streaming you can catch up. I watch for the drama and not the romance. How can you possibly fall in love and get engaged in 6 weeks when your girl/boyfriend is dating 25 other people? It's fun to watch even if it's a silly concept. Luke is going to nap well today. He had a fun day out w/grandma. Those are the best. My mom used to take my nephews out to the toy store and let them each pick out a toy. Then they'd go back to her house and bake cookies. When I jokingly asked her why she didn't do that for us, she replied w/, "I only had you girls in order become a grandmother". I don't blame her. She made being a grandma look awesome. Next to auntie, grandma is the best job.

I deleted the recording as I didn't really care for Jen in Joey's season and don't think she'll be very watchable. More time for Big Brother when it starts. <snort>
