I'm sure this has been discussed before but how about a fresh take on the question... What did you do with all of your completed scrapbooks?
I quit years ago but I still have the books. I never look at them, except for the baby books, and they take up so much room. I lug them from place to place when I move because I can't seem to part with them.

They are on a bookshelf. Well, they were... I'm moving things around and right now they're packed away in a box in a closet.
They're still nice to look at. I never had tons of albums, I think maybe there are 8-10.

I was always more of a mini book scrapper so all my completed books are in a basket in the spare room. I make junk journals now and don't really have a good way to store them.

On a shelf in our office. I look at them occasionally or my DDs might hunt out a particular photo to show one of their kids or something

They're in a box in my garage. When I got divorced, we had a storage unit that he decided he didn't want anything from so I inherited all of the boxes. I have no room in my house for them so there they sit. Plus I don't want to look a memories of us as a family or couple.

Well they are like my photo albums.. I have them all on a bookshelf and we pull them out every so often to look at. I would never dream of getting rid of them. They are like my babies. lol

Mine are on the bottom shelf of my pine shelving unit, because they're heavy. I do look at them every now and then. I wouldn't want to get rid of them, because they represent a piece of family history - not just the stories that the pages are telling, but the period of my life when I had the time and inclination to scrapbook.

I haven't officially quit, but I haven't scrapped in a long time. My albums are in a cabinet in my scrap room. I never look at them, but I should, because there are some great memories in there.

Half of mine are on a bookshelf in the living room. The rest are boxed up in my closet right now until we finish a few projects around here. (Like more shelving in the living room. )

They were in my home office but when I needed to convert that to a nursery, I put them in plastic containers and those are stored in my storage building out back along with everything else that I don't have room for. I've only looked at the baby albums once after my DGD was born to compare baby pictures.

I stopped paper scrapping in about 2009, and had a break for about 9 years before starting digital scrapping in 2018. All of my old albums are in the cupboard in my craft room / home office. The very first album I did, back in my Creative Memories days, is sitting on the floor, with all the pages pulled out. I really dislike those layouts immensely, and I would never ever put the album out on display. Once I have had a chance to remove the photos and the journaling, I will destroy the pages. I will probably photograph the pages first, just to keep and have a laugh at! Even though I have been digi scrapping for six years now, I haven't finished a full year's worth of layouts yet. When (if?) I eventually do, I will make a photobook out of them, and keep it in the lounge room for at least a little while, for people to look through.

I have about 20 full-size scrapbooks, plus about a dozen mini albums. I have 2 sons and neither of them are interested in my scrapbooks. I don't have the heart to get rid of them, so they sit on a closet shelf taking up room.
One of my sons suggested that I take pictures of each of the pages in each album and load the pictures onto flash drives. I should do it, but it seems like such a large project since there are so many albums. *sigh*
I didn't realize what a monster I was creating when I was scrapbooking. I did it because it was a form of therapy for me.

I am digitizing mine. So that I don’t lose them to aging or acts of nature (flood, fire, etc.) Disclaimer: I am a certified Photo Manager and this is a service I offer to clients.

I still love to create, but don't want them to be a burden.

I have zero expectation that my son will keep much, at all. My daughter may keep some parts… I actually have a couple big envelopes I keep on the shelf unit that I wrote on for each of them. I’ve considered putting the envelopes in a clear iris container- but I’m not buying more to add to the crap in that room. Maybe if I ever use enough of the stuff in two of them *eyeroll.*
I don’t see my scrapbooking stopping any time soon, but I definitely get on board with not forcing it. I find nothing kills my mojo like when my son (when he was considerably younger) being a d*ck.
I do it for me, and I’ve cut down on a lot of the food/stuff photos in my yearly project lifeish albums (2 9x12’s a year.) My guess is the DD’s will be kept or cannabalized in some form, and my travel albums will get picked through. I’m ok with that. My guess is, otherwise my entire scrap room will end up in a dumpster. That’s harder to come to terms with. I hope one of them goes through the effort to donate most/all of it. Even down to the many albums and page protectors they won’t want to keep….
As for while I’m living and breathing, I love having the albums, I rarely touch them once they are a year or two old. But when I’m in the mood for a long walk down memory lane- I love them!! I’ve “caught” my son looking through them as well.
