Hey all, does anyone have any good ideas for a good birthday gift for a one year old? I'd like something interactive. Already has a ton of stuffies, books, and cloths. I noticed she loved the giant Jenga blocks we used over the fourth and thought softer versions of that could be fun. I saw on Reels a dad redoing his daughters' bedroom and had soft blocks that made a castle. That would be my ideal gift, but I haven't found them yet.
Any ideas on where I could find them or any other good gifts for a first birthday? TIA.

My Mom bought my daughter an inflatable ball pit, along with 100 plastic balls. She loved that thing to death! Might want to check with the parents first though, because the balls do get away... all the time. :X
Happy Birthday to her!

A play table they can stand at and either do the activities it comes (sound buttons, light games etc) with or one for sand/water play in the garden.

My great nephew turned 1 a few weeks ago and I got him the My First Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn. I am the Mimi who sends him books to read every month so I thought a chair his size would go great with reading. My nephew didn't need any more toys so this is what I settled on. My niece reports that he loves it and they use it daily when he's 'reading'. www.potterybarnkids.com/products/858419/?cm_src=anywhere-chairs

Our dgd is 20 mos old. She has gotten TONS of use out of these (apologies, I know how to create a shortly worded link in an email but not here) This tower is perfect for helping mom or dad or ? at the kitchen counter. dgd has her own safe knife so she can cut bananas, soft cheese, tofu, etc. sometimes she occupies herself by using a tiny pitcher to transfer water from one bowl to another, helps whisk eggs, eats cheese as mom is grating it, basically whatever to hang out with the adult in the room at their height. www.amazon.com/Ocodile-Toddler-Standing-Tower-Montessori/dp/B0CCVG8QSZ/ref=sr_1_4_sspa?crid=3H71TMWCL04Q0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-TdQzF_1Ga8z38RWkJqhbuUgQdnRpGrCE1CrwtXImoTqzHKGRjgGBlgTpqp02ac_09H4sLJXS4z-0kgycvvEpA2-RMoXNd54cIQv7x7LgbUIWzDrr6_NzaVoF2ysN6JKRBtD9O8gvClBUZK770x71_onf47_qNWNzVQ23TJXWJT4UzmtPO7ZVrf_7PCwhYGFLb1Cz0hIt5fIwoN5bm2J6UA4TQJ2cNBshv9XVzW11PYCQb667ekh1kMJnhTm73aGB6OAk2TEffKa55I3lZ_nVoUDpavEC1M11_UDR84TKqA.8drjVxnBtevpRspUFoHZS-LcQNQhKnup_BpMM4t-rBA&dib_tag=se&keywords=toddler+tower+kitchen+helper&qid=1720546999&sprefix=toddler+tower+%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-4-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1She loves to use this wagon, initially to help walk and now she rips around the kitchen island taking the curves like a Formula 1 driver. one of my kids got a ball pit for christmas and it was a huge hit. I would send additional balls with it as we needed more and tracking them down was a pain.
My kids also loved their water table, and those small slides meant for toddlers.
My other thought would be do you have a children's museum in your area? maybe a membership to that or to your local zoo that they can do with you or as a family activity.

I found a silicone block castle on Amazon.ca. It’s $26 CAD so about $20 USD.

Denver has cool little kid stuff. We don't have as much. Maybe I should look into that.

We got our grandson a lifetime fishing license. When you get a MN license under the age of 3 it is a great deal. It’s a somewhat common first birthday gift here. I like that it has longevity. When he’s a 50 year old guy he’ll fish free because his dead grandparents took care of it. It is possible that as he gets older that he won’t fish, but he’ll learn a lot from my husband and I think it is far more likely that he will.
We got him a Sereed four wheel balance bike that he has been interested in too. They are kind of a hot item amongst the littles. It would be a good first birthday gift. We’ve also been getting him Folkmanis puppets. They are so awesome. They have them in various sizes. We included finger puppets of a large mouth bass & rainbow trout with the fishing license. They sell them at Barnes & Noble and other toy stores. Our grandson thinks they are hilarious - so much more fun than a stuffed animal.

My son got this in blue for Christmas when he was 9 months old. He’s 3 years old and we still use it nearly every day. I recommend this to anyone who needs a gift for a young kid. I’m not kidding when I say I’ve put more miles on our push car than I have my own real car since we’ve gotten it. a.co/d/09CAJu2o

When my kid was a year old she LOVED this wooden block cart. She played with the blocks but would also put all kinds of stuff in the cart and pushed it all around the house. It’s one of the few things she outgrew that I didn’t sell because I figured it would be a good thing to have around if we ever have young children come to visit. www.amazon.com/Hape-Block-Roll-Toddler-Wooden/dp/B004BWAQ84

When our grandson turned one last August, we got him a beautiful wooden wagon made in Amish country. When they visit friends in the next neighborhood or go to the park, they load him and all of his stuff in it. He is now big enough to pull it around himself as well.
