I gave up scrapbooking a few years after my divorce. The memories I was scrapping were making me sad rather than happy.
I decided earlier this year that after Christmas I’m pausing card making after about thirty years. The last two years have been stressful and I find myself throwing the card together at the last minute instead of planning an enjoying making a card specific for a person.
When I first started thinking about it I went back over all the cards I make a year. I make between 50-70 cards a year depending on the year. And I get less than ten in return. That really struck me, but what struck more is the people who are the most vocal about loving my cards, how much they look forward to them, and ask if I’ve handed out all the Christmas cards yet because they hadn’t gotten theirs ~ these people have NEVER given me a card in return. A lot of effort for people to take from me and never offer anything in return.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t make cards so that I get them in return. But for a few people to be so vocal about not getting theirs yet really turned me off.

I've done all sorts of crafts over the years. Why did I quit/stop doing most of them? ADHD Once that hyperfocus moves on to something else, it's hard to get back into any sort of groove!

I stopped scrapbooking when I realised that no one would ever look at them.
I have made beautiful scrapbooks from various trips and for my child's wedding. Unfortunately, their spouse didn't even acknowledge the wedding scrapbook that was made for them.
I have a very large box of various paper, small kits and stickers to go through. Anyone want some SEI (?) complete paper sets?
My cousin has a couple of granddaughters that love stickers, so I think that I will give her the stickers.
I stopped doing cross-stitch because the framing was getting so expensive and again, no one would ever want them when I am gone.
I do sew/quilt and put a lot of love & effort into that. I make a lot of quilts for a children's charity. I put in all the love that I can into those quilts and hope that the recipient will be able to somehow be comforted by my efforts.
