He proposed while floating among giant icebergs, as they sat together in a sea kayak. Unique proposal! I’m just so glad that we adore him. They haven’t known each other long and have been dating just five months. They are both 25. DH and I are surprised but supportive! Wedding date not set yet, hope it’s a year engagement at least.

Congratulations! I know you must be so excited! I wouldn't worry so much about the short dating time....all that matters is that they have put the work in to truly get to know each other!

Congratulations to them! Five months isn't long ... My 25 year old dd has been with her boyfriend since they were 16 and no proposal yet!  They are buying a house within the next year so no wedding will happen anytime soon but they could be engaged ... I know it's what she wants ... |

DH and I knew each other 5 months and only saw each other for roughly 11 or 12 days before he proposed. We'll celebrate 40 years this November.

So exciting!
DH and I were talking about getting married about 5 months after we started dating (2012). We got engaged January 2015, and then dawdled around until our officiant basically picked our date for us (October 2016) and told us to get busy planning.

Congratulations! My sister knew her DH for three months before he proposed and they were married six months later. People thought they were nuts! They’ve been married 44 years this month.

He waited until she was going back to school to get her PA degree and leaving the state. He proposed and no talk of a wedding. One day he called and asked if I'd help him scout out a wedding "venue." They got married on top of a rock formation two weeks later. You just never know how and when things are going to happen. |

On a lighter note, it would have been an awkward kayak back if she had said no. I'm glad she didn't. Wishing them many, many years of happiness together.

Sometimes you just know. My husband and I were friends for 8 years (starting in high school!) before we dated. He was actually my high school prom date, because my boyfriend broke up with me right before prom. We lost touch for a few years during college, but met up again and started dating right away. He proposed after 5 weeks, and we got married 5 months after our first date. We'll celebrate 24 years in December!
And after our second date, I actually told my mom that I knew we were going to get married.
