My name is a pretty common last name; it's a color. In my job I have about 100 clients at a time that I'm working with; some go and more fill in that space, etc. At this time I have 96 active clients and 4 of them have the same last name as I do. An even bigger coincidence is that one of them has the same first AND last name as mine.
It's so bizarre.

My favourite coincidence is that one of our patients has the same first and last name (not middle) AND the same day and month of birth (not year) as my brother. Not a relative and they're 2.5 hours apart. I nearly fell off my chair when he said it.

I know I’ve mentioned this before but my favourite coincidence is when my DS was at the doctor's surgery and met someone whose name was the reverse of his - think Elliot Russell and Russell Elliot. Their birthdays were on the same day but DS was born in 1997 and the other guy was 1979. 😊 They found out when the doctor called for Russell Elliot. DS is used to people getting his name the wrong way around, and they both stood up. 😄

When I was a bank teller, there was a supervisor that used a short form of a formal name (eg Kathryn) which was the same as my formal first name, Kathy. Her husband and mine had the exact first name. Also, our initials were quite similar. We also had the same last name but no relation to each other.
Caused some confusion but management insisted that she use her formal name rather than nickname as I couldn't change my formal name.

My job is a pretty common last name; it's a color. Your job or your last name is the name of a colour?

Wut...
Are you saying that AT your job, you have 4 people with the same common last name that's also a color?
That sounds more like the law of averages, not an astounding coincidence. We had 3 Smiths out of 48 employees. Same idea.
And I can't think of any job that is also a color so I'm going with my first theory.

When I worked in a large regional bank, people would get so frustrated when we would ask for their phone number to look them up (this was in 2004-2005 before we used our phone numbers every where). The reason was simple: in 90% of cases, we got too many results when searching by name. When searching by phone number, we only got a handful of results, at most.

The first time I went to a car place near us for an oil change, the guy asked if I'd ever been there before. I let him know he very graciously had helped me put air in my tires once, but I'd never been there for any sort of services. He said he had a few others with my last name in his system, and one happened to be waiting for her car as well. No relation, just a happy coincidence.

Are you saying that AT your job, you have 4 people with the same common last name that's also a color? That's what I assumed. Her last name is Green, Brown, Black or White. I'm the opposite, no one I'm not related to has my last name. If I'm already in the system and someone asks me to spell my name I just give them the first 2 letters of my last name and it pops up.

Me too, though I have to give them 3 or 4 letters. There are hundreds and hundreds of us in the email system but I'm the only one with my name.

Two of the last three times I have seen my sister was running into her at a doctor's office (two different ones) unplanned. I live about 40 minutes from my sister, and 30 minutes from both of the medical offices.

Once I had 2 students whose names were identical. When I got the enrollment cards, I thought one card was a duplicate--until I noticed the birthdays were not the same. I had one use her middle name to stop confusion. -Roughly 100 students in 5th grade that year and what are the odds that 2 had same name and landed in the same home room?
