How I hope that this is true and that it will lead to the cure of so many rare diseases. Auto-immune diseases come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and maybe finding answers for one will lead to finding answers for all.
Though I do not have Lupus, I have 2 very rare and serious diseases and due to the fact that they're rare there isn't much funding to find a cure or even a root cause. Those of us who have out-of-the-box diseases need more government funding for our diseases. I'll put my soap box away for now.

I applaud any research that advances treatment for chronic conditions. It’s great to read about advances on that front. That said, autoimmune diseases are tricky and are often comorbid with other autoimmune diseases. Trying to treat all of them is a bit like playing whack-a-mole.

This made me so happy, it would be wonderful if this turns out to help everyone with Lupus.

Interesting. It would be awesome if this could help sone with Lupus. My MIL has it snd has had flare after flare after flare this year. She has been miserable. She thought she had found a treatment that worked but now she thinks that it did more damage. She knew someone else that took it and it was a miracle for her. So different people with the same disease may react differently to medications but any new knowledge is good. It would be so nice for them to find a cure.

My childhood friend developed lupus at 16 and I’ve always suspected a combination of hormones and genetics were involved. She’s been fortunate to have excellent medical care and that she responds to treatment.
I wonder whether this research will lead to findings on other auto immune disorders. Interesting read; thank you!
