Interesting.
I’m currently working (with my sister and other sister and dad and cousins) on Italian citizenship as our great grandfather and his wife were born in Italy. My sister has done so much research and digging! I’m just riding her coat tails. I do need to learn Italian as I plan to eventually go there and visit our little ancestral rural comune.

I learned they're not friendly in Bern, you need a wetsuit to float in the river, and they're coming up with terrifying ways to die in a suicide capsule.

I didn't read the article but you also have to have a certain level of income AND you cannot leave the country for more than 2 weeks at a time for the first 5 years. My cousin moved from Iran to Switzerland decades ago and that is what he had to do.

It’s Switzerland after all. |

One of my best friend's daughters lives in Switzerland. I'll have to ask her about it.
My ancestry is Swiss. I'd love to see it one day.

I actually know someone who moved to Switzerland this year. Kind of curious about the exceptions. Her husband got a job there and neither speak any French. My understanding is it’s long term, maybe there’s a time line for those sponsored by companies and their spouses?
