I like both of the teen collections. Very cheerful. Love the alphabets but I wish they weren't "puffy". I don't know why I don't like "puffies". Thanks for showing us PaperAngel.

Carson would fit in nicely with the last teen collection I have dregs of. And I lOVE the colours! The Caitlyn line has alot of pinks, but also golds and reds. The "besties" set for these two together would cover all the background papers I would need for a year! Well- I might need ALL the alpha stickers. Aren't they pretty? And lots of e's and 2's!

Teen Vibe - Carson: Okay, admittedly these lines are stereotypical but I NEED THIS! This is the first line in awhile (besides the Disney Simple Stories series) that I cannot wait to get. I have two nephews that are still teenagers and the youngest one is a stereotypical boy and this is perfect for him. I'll probably get all of it except the epoxy (why epoxy??? why?). The colors are awesome.
Some observations: Vans patterns on Converse shoes? That pattern is going out, by the way. The Vans that are in this year are much more subdued. And Crocs is where it is at if you are 14. First Kiss? Really? People document that? It seems creepy invasive and if I were a teenager I'd just die if my mom scrapped that. Why are scrapbook companies still putting Legit on their products? That has been out for awhile. Where is Skibbidi and Sigma?
Teen Vibe - Caitlyn: I like some of this, too. There are a couple of sheets I'm going to buy and mix in with Carson. I think there was an attempt to make it less stereotypical (smart, athletic, etc.) but then they totally lost the plot and put pink and hearts everywhere.
Some observations: Why does the girl line have skin care products and not the boys? Right now it is boys that are totally in to high end beauty products. Cologne, especially. The boys are always comparing colognes and one of my kids asked if he could do a watercolor of his cologne bottles. My nephew is obsessed with cologne, skin care, hair care, etc. And he is all video games, sports, air pods, as you can get.
I love the Bella Besties kits, too. Monochromatic small patterns are always so useful. Bella Blvd. always does this especially well.
Luna Puffy Alphabet Stickers: Oh, I am definitely going to need these. I am obsessed with the Doodle Bug ones and I know 3 or 4 of these are going to end up in my collection. I need to see what colors I am missing. I am excited to see all of the "2"s- somebody is actually thinking. Good punctuation, too. And I love all of the little hearts- it is nice to carry something that matches the alphabet into the embellishment clusters. I wish there were stars, too.

I like some of the teen collections. Specifically the stickers and ephemera. I don't care for the papers.
Personally for me....not to be used for teen layouts. Many of the various pieces can be used in other situations >> eating out, computer layout (doing one in regards to the pandemic....hours spent online >> pinterest), shopping, pajama day, etc....

I love these so much! It’s definitely a need for more teen stuff. I agree with artbabe - why epoxy?!! I wish DB/BB would stop using epoxy and switch those items to enamel and puffy. But I will still buy the epoxy stars. And artbabe I’m guessing these designs were started 6 mos ago, so probably before skibbidi was more popular. No cap.

We are always losing stuff in the art room and I'm always saying "This marker is missing a cap. No cap." The kids groan. Where is Rizz and Drip? I know there is a lag time between when they are designed and when they are released but sometimes I feel like they have never talked to a teen. A panel of teens should be consulted. No matter- I love teen lines and need more of them. My little buddies are now 15, 19, and 21. I'm excited for these lines. I usually like Bella Blvd. I know they are managed by Doodlebug, which explains the similarities, but I appreciate that there aren't happy faces all over everything.

I can't get past my childhood experiences with puffy stickers. Whenever I see them I remember my sticker book pages lined with nothing but soft foam shapes left stuck to the page after the top layer with the image broke off and was lost forever. So I have yet to buy any puffy stickers for scrapbooking. Since I always look to the colors in a line first, Caitlyn is automatically so not for me. Now, in theory, Carson should be great for me, since I have a teen boy. First off, my boy does love bright colors, so that aspect works for me. and I do like the star elements.
But beyond that, little of the elements or page patterns fit anything my kid would want me to use to scrap photos of him and/or his friends. A lot of the embellishments look very juvenile to me---younger than even the earliest teen ages.
So these three are all a very easy, and very complete pass for me.

Okay, I'm always interesting in the way gender is represented, so I went in and did a text analysis like I did in grad school. Yes, I have too much time on my hands but I'm procrastinating.
Now I'm pissed. After studying the words and phrases on both lines, this is what I found:
Number of times boys are told to smile: one. Number of times girls are told to smile: three. However, girls are told to: Radiate positivity, Sparkle (twice) Stress less- smile more (twice!), Keep smiling (twice), Choose happiness (three times), Make someone smile, and Be the reason someone smiles. Number of times boys are told any of that: zero.
Boys are told to: Show Up- work hard, Wake up and be awesome, Be proud of who you are, Do your best, Work hard- play hard, and Be a leader. Girls are told to (besides the happy/smile ones): Be kind, Kindness is cool, Don't ever change, You got this, Let your fears make you fierce, Walk your own path, Never change your beautiful heart, Follow your dreams, Be a good friend, and be the best version of you. Hmmm....some of that is okay and some is problematic.
Number of times attractiveness/appearance is mentioned: Boys: Handsome (4 times) Girls: Pretty, Hello beautiful, beautiful (twice), Hello gorgeous, Cute, Wake up and make up, Outfit of the day, Glam- (so 9 times)
Number of times the opposite sex is mentioned: Boys: First dance, first kiss, first girlfriend Girls: First dance, first kiss, first boyfriend, Date night, Boy crazy (twice), Boyfriend.
Number of times friends are mentioned: Boys: Friends (4), Going out with the guys, The guys, Fun stuff with friends, Teammates. (so 8) Girls: Friends (5), friends forever (twice), best friends, besties (four times), BFF (twice), Socializing (twice), Hanging with friends, My girls, girl gang, Be a good friend, Fun stuff with friends, I was so innocent until my bestie came along (gross), Not sisters by blood- but sisters by heart. (so 23!)
Words used to describe each gender: Savage: boys-2, girls- 0 Athletic: boys- 1, girls- 1 Strong: boys- 2, girls- 0 Smart: boys- 1, girls- 2 Unstoppable: boys- 1, girls- 0 Champ/Champion/MVP: boys- 4, girls- 0 Awesome: boys- 3, girls- 0 Happy: boys- 2, girls- 1 Flawless: boys- 0, girls- 1 Epic: boys- 0, girls- 1 Dramatic: boys- 0, girls- 1
Other words occurrences: Number of times video games are referenced: boys- 9, girls- 0 Number of times sports/athletics are referenced: boys- 13, girls- 1 Number of times food is referenced: boys- 6, girls- 0
Hustle: boys- 3, girls- 0 Dream: boys- 0, girls- 2 Kind: boys- 0, girls- 2 Sass: boys- 0, girls- 1 Love: boys- 2, girls- 6 Hugs: boys- 0, girls- 2
And a few problematic phrases I found: "Dumb things boys do" "Guys will be guys" (twice! gross, gross, gross) "Hello, I am a stud" (gross- "stud" appears 3 times) "Stress less, smile more" (gross- towards girls, of course) "Girl Boss" (too MLM) "You are exactly where you are meant to be" (I know what they were going for, but boys are supposed to "hustle") "Let your fears make you fierce" (gross, again, when compared to the boy phrases)
And some contradictory advice for girls: "Real girls are never perfect, perfect girls are never real" but then words included: "flawless" "Be you- you are perfect."
I'll still get these collections but I'm not happy with the narrative. It is just crazy stereotypical. I didn't pick up on it originally, except for the pink, but there are definitely some underlying themes here.
There is a lot of good stuff to the collection, just some not so great stuff, too.
And yes, I decided to do a scrapbook text analysis instead of working on my grad school class I'm taking right now. Flawless, I am not.

I like both teen collections, the icons are cute but I will skip some of the sayings. The girl collection works for my daughter's preteen years when she was more into pink and cutesy stuff, now that she is a teenager and likes gaming I can see some of the boy collection working better for her.
The alphabet stickers are cute too but I try to not buy alphabet stickers anymore.

Now I'm pissed. After studying the words and phrases on both lines, this is what I found: I never even clicked on the Caitlyn line once I saw the colors so I missed all of the words/phrases. And I was so immediately turned off by the graphics seeming quite young for a teen line that I didn't look too far into the Carson line, either, but yikes, I definitely agree that while some of the words/phrases you sorted for us are fine, several gave me an immediate negative response.

I like some of the Carson line for my teen grandson. But, sheesh, the chipboard page is $7.99. I love the alphas and all the colors, but again, they seem pretty pricy to me. Am I turning into my mother?

I really like the alphas and may pick up a couple of different colours to round out my stash, the blueberry is always a good match to photos from my primary school years and I tend to burn through anything I have in that colour so it almost certainly jump into my cart.
I saw the boy and girl collection last night and was turned off by some of the phrases artbabe mentioned, particularly ones like "smile more" which I really dislike. I like the puffy stars but think that's likely the only thing I might purchase.

My 15-year-old DS doesn't wear Chucks or Vans, skateboard, play sports, or call me bruh or use any of those phrases...the burgers, pizza, and the game controller I could probably use but I already have those.
My teen girl(s) that's a nope on either line. One is an athlete but the word 'athletic' in pink would never get used, and neither is into make up, clothes, or radiates positivity.
I want to like it, because I have plenty of teens, but I think I'll pass.

Carson - I like the ephemera, the puffy stickers, and the Doohickey stickers - I also NEED that fast food paper to document DD17s habit of always being hungry anytime we're in the car, lol. She's not a burger kid but I think it'll still work. I like the game controller paper also. So some of the line will work for DD17 (and probably DD24 and DS31) but most isn't a good fit Caitlyn - nope - my teen girl wears a jacket and tie to school and wore a tux for yearbook photos - pinks and girly stuff isn't her vibe. And as artbabe said - there's some issues with the wording. those puffy alpha stickers though? If I were rich, I would have the whole collection

I agree 100 % that including first kiss with a teen collection seems creepy. However, I have a really cute picture of ds when he was 1 being kissed on the cheek by a little girl. In that kind of scenario, I could picture using it. Overall, I like the teen boy collection and will probably get some. I love the puffy alphas, just wish the price point wasn't so high

I think it may have been an Echo Park collection but interesting it is used here too. It appears in 2018 then-DT member Jana Eubanks titled an EP blog post " Happy Girls are the Prettiest!" but the featured collection, EP Imagine That - Girl, doesn't appear to actually include that phrase on its ephemera, sticker sheet, etc.
