I don't know if we have many Canadian teachers on this board but I thought I would start a thread for us just in case! I am a retired teacher who still subs and my oldest daughter is going into her second year of teaching junior high ... we are crazy junior high teachers!! Here is our list if any Canadian Peas are feeling generous ... I love the Peas for things like this! www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/1TG4LIUV2VAMC/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1

My lovely granddaughter Olivia just graduated from Brock University with a BA Honours and Bachelor of Education, and has her Ontario Teacher's Certificate all ready to go. She has applied to 4 or 5 schools, but has not yet secured a position with the Board. She studied Concurrent Education - a 6 year journey for her, starting at age 17! She is working for the Y this summer, conducting activities at camps and getting lots of experience working with all ages of kids. I would love to add her when she lands a position! Thanks, leannec for starting this thread.

Hey Leanne, I've added some items from your wish list to my Amazon cart for you. Do you want to PM your address to me? or is there a way through Amazon to send them without your address being shown? I'm not sure how this works. Let me know. Thanks.

I tried, but I'm in the states. That's OK, it's the thought that counts!

My DD graduated with her BEd in July and has secured a position at her preferred school teaching grade 5.
And I, at age 57, have renewed my teaching certificate to supply teach as I prepare to retire from my current job. I haven’t taught since 2010. My degree is in secondary (middle and high school) but I will be choosing to supply at the elementary level. Wish me luck!

We are almost carbon copies! My dd is teaching junior high though ... I am subbing mainly junior high ... I can sub high school but I find it super boring.
