I wanted to update on my scrapbooking post, however, I didn't know how because I accidently deleted the OP while I was trying to move it.
I considered all of your comments, each and every one of them. I appreciated that discussion so much. I always appreciate our discussions here because everyone is so thoughtful and really takes the time to share why they do things how they do, their thinking on things, and then also addressing what are my personal concerns. I tend to be a really indecisive person. I am because my bipolar has contributed to some really rash decisions in the past that I have come to regret. So now, I probably think too much about things from every angle before I make a decision. You don't know how much it helps me out to hear a variety of points of view here.
But I went away this past weekend for my birthday. Jeremy surprised me with a birthday weekend away in Ludington, MI. It is right on Lake Michigan and we try to go at least once a summer. I left my phone in the motel room for the whole weekend so I could just take time to clear my head and think about some things in my life.
I was particularly struck by the travel journal idea by Zee and Spongemom Scrappants. I have enjoyed scrapbooking for years and years. I also tend to be an optimist so I can usually find the silver lining in things. I just have not been able to lately which is why the post. But I decided that really, what I love most about my life in this phase is my travels. Mostly camping. But these are the times in my life when I truly feel at peace. So I returned home yesterday and I ordered myself a leather bound traveler's notebook. I ordered just a few paper-crafting things to add just enough accent to my traveler's notebook to make it slightly scrappy. Those things should come in the mail this week. And for now, I will pause the every day sort of scrapbooking and just focus on my traveler's notebook. I took my regular journal with me this weekend so I could note some particulars about the weekend that I definitely want to include. And it has always been my position in scrapbooking that for me, the journaling is the most important part.
The good news too, is that I went to Joann's yesterday and I was able to find a carrying case that I should be able to fit this small stash of products and then just take it and my little Canon Selphy in the camper and even spend my evenings updating my notebook while even on the trips.
Anyway, I thought this was a truly happy medium for me. I put everything else away and we shall see how I feel after some time goes by.
As always, I appreciate the thoughtfulness of you peas.
