Good morning.
Let's start our week by wishing karenlou a very Happy Birthday! Karenlou is so kind and generous to her patients. She's a nurse who gives so much to others. I'm very grateful to have both sisters karenlou and KelleeM at our table. May your year be filled w/joyous moments.
Let's wish jeremysgirl a very Happy Belated Birthday! Since our wise, compassionate jeremysgirl was on her trip this weekend we were unable to celebrate. So, let's celebrate today. Wishing you a year that is filled w/hope, happiness and healing.
I'm going down to our donut store to buy fresh chocolate bar donuts w/warm piped in custard for our window team. They're such nice guys and do such good work. At least it's cooler for them this week. Then I'm off to run errands.
Dh is going to have rechauffe a/f panko pork, tater tots, corn on the cob and a salad for dinner.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this week?
Ods and I are going to take a little summer getaway for just 2 days. We've been looking fwd to it all summer. Not sure what we'll do, just yet. The fun is in the planning. What about you?
ntsf , how are you feeling? What did your COVID result tell you? I hope that you're feeling much today.
May this week bring happy moments, calm and healing for those or their loved ones in need.

Happy birthday karenlou and happy belated birthday jeremysgirl! Where do you think you and your ds will go to scrapmaven? My girlfriend and her husband from Ontario get here on Sunday night ... I'm getting the spare room ready for them ... can't freaking wait!!! I have a busy day today: Taking my Jeep in for an oil change before I drive all over Hell's Half Acre next week! Cleaning lady is coming in a few hours so, of course, I need to get the place ready for her! I have my handyman coming this afternoon to install a couple of light fixtures and build a table for me ... I was going to put the table in the spare room but I found one I like better on FB Marketplace so I don't know what I'll do with it? Maybe give it to my mum ... Dinner is something from Hello Fresh ... not sure what yet!

leannec, we're leaning twds a town that has a lot of antique stores. He can go antiquing and I can sit by the pool, in the shade and relax. Then we'll go to a nearby city to an art museum that we both want to visit. It'll be something small. Ever since he was a baby he's been my little buddy. Though he's grown now. He was a good shopper as a little guy, except for the toy store trip w/the Thomas display when he was 2. EEK! Who screams after their grandma buys them a train car? What do you have planned to do w/your friends? Does everyone who visits want to go to the big mall?

Thank you for the Birthday wishes.....I was hoping to let this one slide right on by as it is a BIG one....however despite my wishes DH had other plans 😕
I told DH I was not cooking/planning anything for dinner...of course his answer is we will go out. That is not happening. I am headed to Costco and will pick up a rotisserie chicken and we will have that with salads. I had enough indulgences last evening, so I'm going the healthy route...and I can do whatever I want today!!!
I have a pedi appointment this afternoon..so that is my treat today!!

Happy birthday to karenlou and jeremysgirl! I'm just plugging along at work today, not doing anything too exciting. I'll probably be done by lunchtime and can just monitor Slack if anything comes up. Tonight I'm making chicken and dumplings with some leftover chicken I need to use up. I'm going to pick up my grocery order at lunch so I'll be set for the week. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Monday! This morning started with the river birch being removed from the back yard. It was a victim of Beryl, ending up half uprooted and leaning against the roof. Not sure if we will plant another tree this fall or not. Today I thought about just replacing it with a nice, large fountain. Dinner tonight may be at the new restaurant that opened a block away. The chef had a following at his old location near DD's apartment but I never tried it. The parking lot seems to always be full, so I am hopeful that it will be a good option we could just walk to! It's been a long week but after yesterday I finally feel hopeful. They extubated him on Friday and yesterday switched his oxygen to the cannula. They have also begun to slowly cut back on his oxgyen and reduce the amounts of steroids he is receiving. PT has been making him sit up in the chair for 2-3 hours a day. Yesterday he was scheduled for a brain MRI but when I got there about 1 pm they had cancelled it. The neurologists feel they have discovered the root of the problem and began treating that last night. Time will tell if they are correct. They are thinking as a result of the keytruda he has developed myasthenia gravis which can be a rare side effect. That would explain the problems breathing deeply enough and the vision problems because it affects the muscles needed. Fingers crossed the treatments work. His mind is still sharp and he's still good at giving me lists of things to do - both very good signs! I think the next step will be to move him to long term care to continue to rehab. With luck by the end of the week! Thank you to everyone for asking about him and sending messages of encouragement. They are so appreciated. I owe several people notes in return and promise I will get to you soon!

I'm glad they are making progress with the diagnosis. An extended family member had that condition and they did have to make sure any meds given wouldn't aggravate it. Praying for your DH. Put treats on my roomba (turned off) yesterday for our furbaby. He came up to it no problem and inspected it. Will do that again today before vacuuming. Tonight I will make pork stirfry with veggies from the garden.

Happy birthday to karenlou and jeremysgirlscrapmaven - big sisters are the best! I’m the oldest of 3 sisters (and a pile of brothers too!) Thursday I got a call from the oral clinic, asking me to come back for another scan. I went in this morning and saw a different doctor, whose first question was ‘is this your first time with us?’ Seriously - just look at my records on that computer right beside you! Anyway, she took a look, but didn’t do an ultrasound, told me it doesn’t look dangerous and told me to come back in 3 months. Part of me is fine with that, but part of me wants to know what’s going on. My friend came with me and once I was done at the clinic, we walked down to the main city square to a favourite cafe for coffee and something to eat. I did a bit of shopping at the market while I was there and popped into one of the inner city churches to light a candle. Dinner tonight is chicken, with rice salad.

Let's start our week by wishing karenlou a very Happy Birthday! Karenlou is so kind and generous to her patients. She's a nurse who gives so much to others. karenlou you truly are one of the kindest people. Have a wonderful day! I am fighting a stubborn headache today and took the day off work. Ugh! I hope you can get rid of it and salvage some of your day. My girlfriend and her husband from Ontario get here on Sunday night ... I'm getting the spare room ready for them ... can't freaking wait!!! This is exciting. Is this the childhood friend you visited at her place last year? If I'm not mistaken she had a dog you were in love with? we're leaning twds a town that has a lot of antique stores. He can go antiquing and I can sit by the pool, in the shade and relax. Then we'll go to a nearby city to an art museum that we both want to visit. Forget the pool! I'd be antiquing. I had enough indulgences last evening, so I'm going the healthy route...and I can do whatever I want today!!! Seriously I don't even blame you. KelleeM had so many indulgences for your birthday, she's got a headache today! LOL. Just kidding Kellee! But I thought I was making big plans to indulge in an ice cream cone on my birthday. It was homemade peanut butter ice cream and it was delicious. But...after not having any dairy in over a month, it was a baaaaaaaad idea. I am still suffering. Dr. Google tells me 48 hours or so is normal for this sort of thing. So I'm back to lentils and vegetables with soy milk. Hahaha... Tonight I am either going to talk Jeremy into hitting the farmers market for custom salads (I'll also want to shop) or I'm going to pop in the vegan restaurant and pick up some cauliflower tacos I think.

Happy Birthday karenlou and belated happy birthday to jeremysgirl ! **GypsyGirl** , thanks for the update. Still keeping y'all in my prayers. scrapmaven , what a nice thing to do for the window guys. Yes, the heat must be hard on them. Have fun on your little trip with ODS. I have a Chiropractic appointment this morning. We might go swimming at our sport's club this evening. When it's over 100° it just isn't fun. It has cooled down some. Dinner will be pork chops and baked yams. We never get a refrigerator with an icemaker:

Marina , I have a friend who's cat used to ride on their Roomba. I'm thinking about getting one, too. sueg , if you're not comfortable w/the doctor then call your other doctors and schedule an appt to talk to them. That she was so dismissive is not OK. **GypsyGirl** , are you getting enough rest? This is exhausting and such a trial for both of you. I will keep your husband in my thoughts for healing. Meanwhile, I hope that you'll take a little break and get a massage or do something that truly relaxes you. It's important to take care of yourself, as I'm sure you know. (((HUGS))).
jeremysgirl, cauliflower tacos sound delicious. Cauliflower is such a versatile and yummy veggie. Enjoy your dinner.
cadoodlebug, enjoy the cooler weather. I hope that your chiro appt relaxes you and gives you relief.

**GypsyGirl** - so hope things continue to move in the right direction with your DH! Happy birthday karenlou ! And happy Monday to everyone else. Plowing through the todo list. I think my husband's going to grill steaks that we'd planned over the weekend, but he never got around to - that or I'll have to throw them in the freezer. Take care all!

sueg , if you're not comfortable w/the doctor then call your other doctors and schedule an appt to talk to them. That she was so dismissive is not OK. I think you have misconstrued the situation. I didn't find the doctor dismissive at all, and I was quite comfortable with her. She examined me thoroughly and then decided that it wasn't necessary to do an ultrasound, and did look through my notes once I told her what had been happening so far. She feels it's a distended vein, no danger to me, and that the best course of action RIGHT NOW is to do nothing. The doctor who called me last week has seen me twice, and I think his reason for wanting to do the US was as much his own curiosity as to what is there, rather than to do anything more. He even said that he could see my surgery appointment in my notes, and that he wouldn't consider dong anything before that anyway. It's not a matter of calling the other doctor - they both work in the same University clinic and I don't even know his name! Nothing is going to happen for this issue before October, so whether I had an ultrasound today is pretty much irrelevant.

Happy Birthday karenlou and jeremysgirl! DD birthday is today, she is 19!! It is up to her for dinner tonight. She is hanging out with one of her friends today, they are going to IKEA. That should take a couple of hours! We did not get an icemaker until much later, so I know that walk!! And now we don't have an icemaker, but we buy ice to fill the try. I am the little sister, so I agree, we are the best. We are able to shower in our new shower!! It was so nice to take a morning shower this morning. No sink in there yet, but that is ok! We have to get the electrician back out this week and then we can start mudding and plastering. Little by little it is getting done. But this was a huge step. No more traveling to take a shower. sueg - it surprises me how doctors don't read the notes. My doctor (she is new to me, I have seen her twice so I will let it slide), she asked me at my last annual visit when my last period was. I said when I was 36. I had a hysterectomy. I am 52 now.

Hi all!
This week's dinner is roast, veggies, and a broccoli casserole thing for me as a side dish.
I always have to laugh when I think about doctors not reading notes because when an old doctor of mine retired, I asked the office for my patient file so I could both have it for my own records and send it to the new one I found. According to said records, I've had a child, breast biopsy, tonsillectomy, thyroidectomy, AND I'm 390 years old. (I have had exactly none of these things... and I'm 34.)

scrapmaven I have seen videos where cats ride a roomba. I'm so sceptical of some youtube videos that I wonder if they are drugged. Glad to hear that's not the case! LOL ntsf glad you escaped Covid. My friend never got it even though her husband and kids got it which I find amazing. jeremysgirl ice cream is my favorite dessert but I have to take lactaid with it so I know your pain. Sometimes that doesn't work. I find gelato easier on my stomach with lactaid. cadoodlebug I love the ice cube trays that have a lid!

We had a terrible thunderstorm this morning. I spent the morning on the couch with Walker in my lap. He is terrified of thunder and he is NOT a lapdog!
Today is a casual day but tomorrow is a busy one. I have an eye dr appt for my yearly checkup (I am diabetic so we get a free yearly checkup), a hair appt and supper with my alphabet gang.
Supper tonight will be take out pizza.
Happy birthday to those celebrating and sending healing thoughts to those suffering.

Happy Birthday to both amazing Peas!!
I just returned from my mechanic. Driving home yesterday my car started making a grinding noise. I called this morning and he said bring it right over. He didn’t want me driving it until he knew it was safe. A shield was rubbing on the motor somewhere. He crawled under and fixed it on the spot for a grand total of $30. I love him to pieces. He’s 70 and knows his stuff. A definite perk of living in a small town. [ br]DD is bringing Norah for our usual Monday dinner. She is growing like a weed and smiling up a storm. We’ll have grilled steak and air fried potato wedges for dinner with a salad. Dessert will be fresh fruit as I have a lot to eat before it goes bad.

Sigh... karenlou scrapmaven that sounds like a fun getaway. **GypsyGirl** thanks for the update. Hopefully things are on the right track. DH says he is craving biscuits and gravy for dinner so I guess I will indulge him.

Happy Monday! I've been plugging away in the office this morning. It is our busy time of year. Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend who moved back to Oklahoma about 20 years ago. This is the second time I have seen her in that time frame. I love that we just can pick up where we left off like no time has passed. It was a fun afternoon. Of course I had lot of pictures of baby Hudson to share! karenlou wishing you the happiest of birthdays!! What color are you picking for your toes?! I love a good pedicure with a long massage!!! Dinner tonight is up in the air. I am not sure if dh will be here or not. He's got a lot of jobs that need done so he may be gone. I may have leftover meatballs and strawberries. Hoping you gals in hot states and staying cool. We are having weather that resembles fall weather (already ) When I got up on the night it was in the 40's.

karenlou Happy Birthday ! **GypsyGirl** keeping you and your DH in your thoughts and prayers. Our home is finally all painted and I love how it looks. All we need is a second coat on the steps and ramp, which he'll do in a couple of days. I put solar lights in the front and put some flowers that I had repotted on some pretty pots. What a difference all this has made. Now I want to look for a pretty wreath for my door. For dinner we had fish and chips.

rymeswithpurple I got nothing on that doctor file! That's beyond absurd! I'm trying a version of that infamous "spaghetti sauce from 'The Bear'." I've seen a lot of versions out there, so I'm kind of averaging out the various things I've seen. One thing I can tell you is that right now, this house smells like I've sprayed basil and garlic air freshener everywhere! It smells good right now, but I hope it modulates before dinner, or I'll be so sick of the smell I won't want to eat!

karenlou and jeremysgirl taylortroop . That same storm blew through here at about 4 o’clock here. we were under a tornado watch and a flash flood warning. Lots of trees down not here but not far from here and a house got damaged. This is got to be the weirdest summer as far as weather goes from what I remember. Spent three hours in the pool with my great nephews and not sure what’s for dinner

sueg, I apologize. I completely misread your OP. I'm glad that you trust her and I can see why you do.
I just got back from my voice lesson. It feels so good to be singing, again. This is my 1/2 hour each week that is all about me. I might have to start nagging those of you who are interested to do something just for yourselves each week.
leannec, every prime day I am determined to buy stuff and every prime day they never have stuff I want or need on sale. This time will be different.
