I think we covered this way back in the day but I thought we could revisit it to keep the board moving. And I haven't finished my second cup of coffee yet.
What is your favorite subject/theme to scrap? What is your least favorite?
My favorite is going out to breweries and restaurants with friends. It just makes me happy. Every time we go out I take a photo and I have an album of all of the fun times I've had with friends. The other reason I like it is that for some reason I can be a little more free scrapping those pages than other ones. I'm using to scrapping kids/boys and it is fun to scrap adult women for a change. I can use different supplies and embellishments.
My second favorite is my annual beach trip with the kids. The beach makes me happy and there are a ton of supplies available to use. I have some beautiful ocean collections and it is so fun to scrap my 21 year old nephew at the beach over the years. I can scrap photos of him as a baby and the next layout will be his 21 year old self. So fun to see the same location but a totally different stage of life.
I think Christmas is my least favorite thing to scrap and I'm not sure exactly why. Christmas is fine but I'm not really as enamored with it as a lot of people. Halloween is my jam. I have tons of pretty collections but I think Christmas morning photos are just so busy looking and we don't do a lot of other Christmas stuff. And my sister has that darn rust colored couch that dominates the photos.
So what are your favorite subjects to scrap? Your least favorite? Why?

I love scrapping summer stuff because the photos are outdoors and look good. Annual trip to the sno cone cart, the family vacation, kids in the pool, farmer's market etc.
I really don't like scrapping Easter (too many things going on to fit it all on one page, but not worth three pages in my album...) plus the supplies are boring and usually pastel.
I also don't like birthdays because there are six of us and I'm never caught up. I have to remind the family to take my photo on my birthday and then I have to scrap my less than flattering photo... I am training one of my kids not to snap one bad photo and then wander off, so that part has improved slightly.

Anything travel related is my favorite (including beach trips!)
I don't mind Christmas pages but they can start to look repetitive year after year. I keep all my Christmas layouts together in "Christmas Albums" so maybe it's more noticeable since they are all together even though I'll use a different paper collection for each year.
Least favorite - my wedding! I have been married 24 years and I still have uncompleted layouts and photos I haven't scrapped.

My very favorite is 1st day of school... I have them from my kids and now my grandkids... I love 1st day of school even better then the school pics we get... even as they turn into teens and dread school and dread 1st day... they have all still stood and got the picture...
I also really like Halloween for my grands... I wish I had done more of my kids at halloween... I make it a point now to make sure the mom sends me some of them in costume before the take off to trick or treat...
least favorite is school Christmas programs or concerts!! I have individual and groups but they all just look cluttered... I need to figure out how to get them to look nice... they overwhelm me...

I am an event/themed scrapbooker, so I love scrapping any photos that record a tradition or have a story to tell. My albums are seasonal, so I will go through each season with my likes and dislikes as far as scrapping it goes... Summer: love scrapping outdoor photos, community events, family gatherings & interactions. Splashing in the lake? Cooking hot dogs or marshmallows over a fire? Tossing around a football in the back yard? Let me get my camera! Always excited to have ranch/rodeo pic's to play with. I take alot of garden photos/have a huge stash of scrappy garden supplies, but don't enjoy scrapping them as much. I think b/c sometimes it feels almost like the "real" garden work, like weeding... Fall: Love scrapping back to school, fall leaves if I can get someone to add some action to my photos. Don't take alot of photos of foods so don't scrap Thanksgiving feasts, etc. Winter: love playing with all my Christmas scrappy supplies for cards and pages. Love scrapping outdoor photos of fun in the snow. (Don't like to get cold, but will go out there and take a few pic's if there is someone having fun). Same goes for hockey. I will brave the rink to get some good action shots so I can stick them onto fun pages.
least favorite is school Christmas programs or concerts!! I have individual and groups but they all just look cluttered... I need to figure out how to get them to look nice... they overwhelm me... ITA with this. Spring: love the spring sports (baseball, soccer, lacrosse), last day of school, grads. I like playing with Easter photos if I have them, but now the kids are older those are getting few and far between. Nothing much interesting around here to photograph outdoors that time of year otherwise.

So what are your favorite subjects to scrap? Your least favorite? Why? Our son is my primary scrap subject. Although not a theme scrapper, I enjoy scrapping sports & travel layouts &, like Linda, feel (self-imposed) pressure "to do something special" with busy photos from the same annual events, such as holidays, birthdays, etc.

I think my least favorite are birthdays--not birthday parties, but just a photo or two of a person with their cake. There are so many and I get tired of scrapbooking them. My favorite are any unusual event or outing or at least any event/outing we don't attend/do very often. It's nice to dig out new supplies or use new colors, themes, etc.

Favorite: Outings with friends....food, dancing, music, laughter, stories, etc... I love looking back at those type of layouts in my scrapbooks.
Least favorite: Birthdays. So many birthday gathering over the years. I always take photographs during it. After scrapbooking many birthdays over the years....it's hard to come up with a new idea, something different, etc....

I love scrapping travel. I am really good at journaling while on vacation so the words are easy to add to my pages.
Indoor events, with a lot of people, are my least favorite. I think a lot of my indoor photos are dark or busy, so I’m not as excited to use them.

Favorites include fun stories about my boys and travels (although most of my travel albums are full of pocket pages because I take so many pictures).
My least favorite has to be band concerts. DS played trombone so it was rare that we could see him during concert band. I could usually see him during Kazz Band but they performed on the floor (not the stage) so I usually had lots of heads in the way.
I don't look forward to some of the sports layouts because I take sooooo many pictures and can't narrow them down. I do enjoy highlighting some of the photos that I was excited to get, especially baseball photos when I got a shot of the ball just coming off the bat or a great expression on DS's face after something good happened.

I love scrapbooking Disney, adventures with my husband, wineries, toilet selfies, and Disney trash cans.
My least favorite? Birthdays.

This will surprise absolutely nobody…My favorite subject to scrap is my pets. I use their pages like a diary.
My second favorite subject is everyday life. I don’t scrap events like birthdays, graduations, etc. I scrap things like the look my partner gets when the gears are turning in his head or the very precise way they always cut vegetables.
I’ve got all the feels. I have to document them somewhere.

Favorite: anytime I get my “big” camera out and play with light, color, and angles. Usually those photos coincide with vacations, outdoor adventures/park trips, and my niblings playing outside. Although I will also bring it out for more lifestyle, everyday photos and those are fun too. In the spring/summer, I take lots of photos of my garden which results in well lit, colorful photos, even if just taken with my phone and I enjoy working with those in project life.
Least favorite: indoor photos, especially at night like during family get-togethers. There is a lot of warm browns and woods in my house and I struggle with capturing photos I’m happy with.

Right now I like to scrap random things - my favorite things, a fun day out, whatever I feel like doing.
My least favorite thing to scrap is Christmas. I have decided it's because the photos are so busy. There is always a bunch of wrapping paper, multiple people, etc. I'm trying to be more mindful of the mess when I take photos.

So birthdays and school concert photos seem to be getting a lot of hate. I agree, all of the birthday photos start looking alike. I made a layout once of a birthday photo with a big question mark. It didn't have a date on the back and it looked exactly like every birthday we have and I had no idea whose birthday it was. So I made a layout about that. I was pretty pleased with it. I don't really mind scrapping birthdays though. The kids were usually so excited that I could great smiles in the photos.
I don't think I've ever scrapped a school concert photo. I have a ton of them but they just aren't interesting to me, and a picture of the whole band is just blah. I should probably scrap one of them, at least- goodness knows I've been to enough of them.
My oldest nephew was in marching band, and I did like scrapping those photos. Football games are very pretty with the lights on the field and the bright green grass. I am disappointed I'm running out of those photos.

Not really a subject, but I love scrapping photos of 1 or 2 people in more of a portrait type setting. Pretty bokeh or scenic backgrounds. Well-lit photos. Not events, not events ever. I despise scrapping birthdays, weddings, Christmas or any photos that cluttered. I also tend to shy away from poor quality or underexposed photos.

I do ALL the things from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas Day & I'm so glad my husband, although he seems like a Grinch on the outside, is actually just as into the season as I am. He was christened The Garland Guy last season. With that said, that is my favorite thing/time of year to scrap & it gets a whole separate album from the rest of the year. I also love to scrap vacations and moment/personality pages about my kiddos (like how my son has recently started reading by putting his book on the couch and then kneeling on the floor so we've started calling it Catholic reading).
I lost my best friend of 25 years in a car accident in December 2022 & I never expected to scrap layouts about close friendship (for myself) ever again. However, over the course of the last 18 months, three girlfriends (who I have known casually for the last several years) + their husbands have turned into close friends and when I scrap layouts about our adventures together, I'm still a little surprised that I can + wish my BF could be part of the fun, too.
Sportsball, birthday parties, & school events (the worst lighting ever!) are my least favorite things to scrap.

I should take a page out of your book and just stop with the birthday pics--unless it's a milestone or there's some special celebration attached. Because otherwise, I'd rather see everyday stuff myself.

I love scrapping travel and my niece/nephew/people I love. I really don't know that I have anything I dislike scrapping. It's more a case of I have things I like to scrap in specific ways. For example, I'm not necessarily going to scrap a separate layout for traditions. Unless there's a unique story, those events will likely be referenced in a month in review page. It's all less about the what & more about the how.

I love scrapbooking our everyday adventures and vacations, but I don't enjoy scrapbooking most major holidays. I think I get overwhelmed with the number of photos per event and I don't want to take the time to organize my layouts carefully or make sure I am scrapbooking all the photos from an event, so I don't scrapbook any of them! It's not a great system.
I hope to fix that issue in a couple of years when I get a studio again and I can print all the photos from a single holiday and (roughly) pre-plan my layouts. I also want to start creating more 2-page layouts for big events, like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
