My gyn and I had the HRT discussion (I'm 2 years past menopause) and she recommended that I get off all caffeine (caffeine free for years), no alcohol (I don't drink anyway) and start taking evening primrose and up my soy to see if those help before doing HRT of any sort. We're doing a 4-6 week trial.
I've been doing both since Thursday last week. I notice that my anxiety feelings are much higher since I've started these. Not sure if it's one or both doing this. I get little heart flip/flop type feelings from time to time (caffeine does the same to me which is why I don't drink it). I've had them before and been told it's nothing really to stress about, just hormonal (awesome- NOT!). So, are these new additions causing this? Anyone have experience with the same?
I don't think my hot flashes are affected at all unfortunately. I'm going to give it the 4-6 weeks. If I find I can't function because of the anxiety feelings during that time, I'll contact her. Maybe it's something that will improve if I stay with it?
