Good morning.
Today will hopefully the last day of window work. We're going to buy them lunch, again and we're gonna tip the guys. Tipping is out of control in this country, but honestly they work so hard and most of the work was done in triple digit heat.
Ods and I are going on a little getaway for a couple days. We've both been waiting all summer for this. So, I should pack my little duffle. It'll be a fast trip and I won't need much. We leave tmw and I'm looking fwd to it. Dh is going to paint window trim while I'm gone. This morning I need to pick up the paint. Our local hardware store houses two really fluffy and friendly cats. Picking up paint is a treat for me.
Dinner will be af chicken sandwiches. My neighbor loved them when I made them last month. So, I'll bring them over to her for dinner. I'm going to make cole slaw for them, as well. Dh will not eat coleslaw. Silly guy.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today?
May today bring happiness, healing for those in need and bright moments to all!

So happy to here your installation is coming to an end scrapmaven. Enjoy your time with your DS. We had quite the storm come thru during the night. I woke up at midnight to howling wind and rain. This morning when DH went to leave for work, we had a tree come down in the driveway. It just barely missed the house. He was able to get his truck out and managed to back my Jeep out enough to pull it back in and move it over to his spot in the garage so I could get out this morning. Lots of damage around town and power outages. And before anyone asks, it was a healthy tree that was uprooted right out of the ground. Not a lot going on at the office so I am going to leave early and go home and start picking up limbs. Dinner will probably be rechauffe. Have a great day!

Ods and I are going on a little getaway for a couple days. We've both been waiting all summer for this. Yay! So much fun! I hope you have a great time! Today will hopefully the last day of window work. Another yay! Get that work done. You and Mr. Scrapmaven will be glad to have your peaceful house back. This morning when DH went to leave for work, we had a tree come down in the driveway. It just barely missed the house. Geez. This is awful. So glad it missed your house. I ended up making fajita burritos last night. They were so delicious. I made homemade Mexican rice. Then a pinto bean/mushroom/veggie mix to stick inside. I had enough for leftovers for lunch. I actually have enough for dinner too, but I don't know that I'm going to want to eat them twice in one day. Although I did like them. I bought myself a mini coffeepot in yellow from the prime day sale. It was $20. I can't wait to get my big Capresso machine off the counter. Just taking that big Cuisinart airfryer/toaster oven off my counter and replacing it with a small two slot toaster freed up so much space. This will too.

I'm going to run errands this morning and have a load of sheets in the wash. Dinner will be salmon. DH had a 6:30 tee time so he was up at 4:30. Better than the 6 AM tee time last week! Have fun with your ODS scrapmaven ! Oldie but goodie!

Good Morning! Not much going on today other than the routine trip to the hospital. Tonight DD gets home from Rome, though she doesn't land until 10 pm. I'll see her tomorrow at some point and we'll go see DH together. The only other 'excitement' is stopping at Costco for gas and some computer paper. Was late leaving the hospital last night and didn't make it to the restaurant down the street. Maybe tonight! scrapmaven - Enjoy your little getaway! Sometimes all you need is a night or two away to refresh the soul and mind. jeremysgirl & karenlou - My belated birthday wishes to both of you. Hope you both had awesome days! Yesterday was a big day. The speech pathologist stopped by and tried him on applesauce and he did well. She'll be back today to run a scope and make sure there is no damage to his throat before they try other foods. He has requested peanut butter. They made the decision to do a PLEX (plasma exchange) where they remove his plasma, scrub it of the MG antibodies and then transfer back to his body. He was aware and talking to me through the later part. Fingers crossed this helps. Last night just before bed he called me a bit confused. Said he was at Schlumberger and needed me to pick him up and take him back to ICU. Told him I would do that and he should just take a nap until I got there. Then I talked to the nurse. Nurse said that he'd become confused and he was keeping a close eye on him. Hopefully just a temp. setback. As for myself, I'm getting to bed at 10:30 most nights and managing to get a decent night's sleep. The doctor has me on prozac for the time being and it seems to be helping. The thing I'm having to work hard at is getting enough food to eat. But as my nerves have gotten better I have more of an appetite.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm working on not so much fun stuff for the next couple of weeks. Once I finish social writing, then it's just on-page optimizations which are tedious and the part I like least about my job. Luckily I go on vacation next week so I'm working on getting stuff done ahead of time.
Dinner tonight will be quiche. I have a leftover pie crust from the 4th and some ham to use up so they'll be bacon, onion, cheese and ham. I'll freeze whatever i don't eat so I can just pop slices out when I'm ready for it.
Hope you all have a good day!

**GypsyGirl** , it can be very hard to eat when you're worried. I'm glad that you're getting some nutrition now. Do they have a medical social worker who can listen, as well? You might find that very helpful and sort of a relief to express all of those emotions that must be swirling through your head and heart. Your dd and you will be able to comfort eachother. ((((HUGS)))).

It's a quiet day for me. Still sitting here in my pajamas and having my coffee. I might work on my planner today and maybe go and pull out some weeds in my yard if it's not too hot late this afternoon.
For dinner we are having baked chicken with a vegetable.

Hi friends. It's a mostly quiet day here.
Took DH to the doctor this morning, as he's had a bit of a sore throat. Tested negative for Covid, flu, and strep, so it's just something he needs to treat the symptoms of. Hopefully he will be on the mend quickly. I picked up some soup and popsicles for him. The other plus side (if there's any to being sick) is that he feels much better than he did when he had Covid last year and a nasty infection of some sort in February. I'm on day 4 (I think) of Omeprazole, and it seems to be working so far. I have had a little ear pain at night, but I'm wondering if that's just it wearing off. Little bit of a cough, but nothing major (I assume, of course). Doctor said to come in any time between now and the end of the month for repeat bloodwork, so I may do that Friday. We were planning on visiting family over the weekend, but if DH is still feeling icky, we will not go.
Sending all of you good wishes for your Tuesdays!

Hi dinner friends! I doubt you all remember me, I lost my log in and decided that it may be the universe trying to keep me off line more. That's what I get for complaining I'm not being as productive as I should be. :-)
I'm going to try and catch up with the latest on everyone, but sending prayers for those that can use them. I'm glad to see this thread is still going with some familiar "faces"
DH is at the ranch so dinner is whatever falls out of the fridge or pantry when I decide I'm hungry.
off to catch up!

Massive amounts of rain last night and into this morning = flooded basement. We have torn up the carpet in one side where it doesn’t really matter and trying to dry the carpet on the rec room side. What a mess!
I woke up at 3:30 due to the storm and Walker was scared, whining and shaking. I tried to sleep on the couch with him but he got much more sleep than I did!
Had an eye dr appt this morning (all is good) and a haircut this afternoon. Tonight is my monthly alphabet supper with former coworkers. It’s the letter S so we are going to a local bar/grill named Skeeters.
My mom has to try her drivers license on Thursday. Here in Ontario, seniors have to do a test once they turn 80. They are behind with appts due to Covid so she finally got a letter and she just turned 82. One of the tests is to draw a clock with a given time on it. Although I thought she was fine cognitively, she is struggling with this and I’m not sure she will pass. She mixes up the hour and minute hands every time.

**GypsyGirl** My heart goes out to you and your dh. I hope he continues to improve. I went out early this morning to run some errands. I got stuck in traffic, and when I got to the bank their system was down. So that totally backfired on me!! We are getting our new flooring installed on Friday. I am still moving stuff from downstairs to upstairs. I feel like it's going to take me 6 months to get the house back together after all this. Thursday evening we will move all the big furniture out. This has been a lot of work!!!

Awww, thanks everyone! You know how to make a girl feel loved. @**gypsyGirl** big hugs and prayers for your DH and to you as well! I'm so sorry you're going thru all this! I thought of you when Beryl was barreling thru Houston. We had hoped it would go south and share the rain with the ranch. I've been good, plugging along, nothing too newsworthy here. work, sewing, ranch and life is just busy busy. We do have a puppy, a 4 month old Border Collie named Riley. We brought her home at 6 weeks old from friends in the panhandle that we bought cattle from, Her Mom and Dad are their "ranch hands" apparently they were running and unadvertised special, by 10 calves get a puppy for free. :-) I look forward to catching up with all of my friends here, I'll try to be consistent but we all know how life can be.

taylortroop what a pita. Water damage is awful. **GypsyGirl** I’m glad your dh continues to improve. He’s really been through it lately. Keeping you both in my prayers. It’s my Luke day. We started off at the playground then music & movement class flowed by the library. We’re watching Mickey’s Halloween. It’s too hot outside now. cadoodlebug did you go to Venice your last Italy trip?we have 3 days there but want to change because the crowds are terrible right now. Is there somewhere maybe north to check out? jeremysgirl maybe you can keep a craft cart next to your desk to work on stuff and even keep books in it. Welcome back austnscrapaddict

I went to my fav place with Emma today ... the dreaded mall! She bought some very expensive swimsuits and I bought some very expensive sunglasses ... like mother, like daughter! Now we are hanging out until Grandma and Molly get here ... the four of us are going to the neighbourhood pub for dinner ... yum! Thinking of you and your dh's **GypsyGirl** and rymeswithpurple!

We did not go on either of our Italy trips in 2019 or 2022. We did go in 2003 when DS played with the The California Ambassadors of Music. It was only a long day trip from Austria and it was during that awful European heat wave in July 2003. We saw a glass blower which, while nice, was so hot in his studio that I thought I would pass out. We explored the narrows streets around St Marks Square, ate pizza for lunch which wasn't very good and headed back to the square to people watch. If we were ever to go again, which isn't likely, I wouldn't go in July and we would stay in a hotel so we could explore properly. People who are more familiar with Northern Italy might be of more help to you. Perhaps Lake Como? That was our first stop in 2019. In 2022 we were in Tuscany for a week.

We have an apartment not far from StMark’s. My dh has no interest in Murano. Honestly I have friends who are glassblowers so I see it all the time. Their facility is pretty close to my studio. My kids have made beads and ornaments there over the years. We normally would never go in the summer but my nephew’s wedding is in Florence on the 31st. I’m bringing rechargeable personal fans, cooling towels and maxi dresses. They are wearing full wedding attire. The villa has a pool so I suspect one of them will jump in in their wedding clothes.
