Good morning.
Today I have a quick video appt and then ods and I are off on our little summer getaway. We're going to an art museum this afternoon. It'll take a couple hours to see it. I'm looking fwd to having the time w/him. We're bringing Scrabble to entertain us at our hotel.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your dh today? How is your dd doing w/this and how are you today? I'm thinking comforting thoughts for the two of you and healing throughts for your dh.
May today bring happy moments, healing for those who need it and calm to all!

I just want to send my best wishes for a great little getaway scrapmaven! I hope you have a good time with your son. lucyg, I want to let you know that I'm sending you all the love. Dinner tribe is behind you 110% as you fight this beast! I'm glad you are feeling well right now. **GypsyGirl** it'll be good to have your DD back for support. Maybe you could give us another update today because I feel like your DH has been making big strides for the past few days which is excellent! I've managed to keep myself busy this morning! With work! Hallelujah! Haha... I'll be calling my therapist shortly and then I'll be open until 3. My coworker scheduled a meeting for noon (yes, right during lunch) because she doesn't do mornings, but I think my boss and I were able to work things out that we needed to discuss at the meeting via email. She doesn't know that, though. LOL! We ended up having takeout last night from a build your own salad or stir fry place. I love that place. I get exactly what I want. I'll probably make more fajitas today to use up the fixins.

Have an awesome getaway with your son, scrapmaven! My son lives in VA and I only get to see him a couple of times a year so I really cherish those times! Today, I'm back to the grind of working on boring stuff. I'm a week away from my vacation so I'm trying to get this all wrapped up before I leave. Makes the day go by very slowly. I have a steak in the fridge that I was going to have for dinner tonight but it's feeling a little heavy. I may put it in the freezer and take out some salmon instead. Hope you all have a great day!

Have a great time on your mother/son getaway scrapmaven! Thinking of you lucyg and **GypsyGirl**! I have another busy day planned ... I should do some laundry this morning ... I'm meeting some ladies in my building for tea and snacks this afternoon ... so fun! Many deliveries are expected today! Dinner will be with a few ladies from a Facebook page for women over 50 in Calgary that I joined awhile back ... one of the women drives me bonkers but we'll see how it goes! No idea what I'll eat ...

Good morning everyone! I read yesterdayâs thread and lucyg I am thinking about you, sending love, and praying for the best possible outcome. I have today off - itâs my birthday and I took it off since I had to work last year as I had new employees starting. Tomorrow is my regular day off so I also took Friday off to make a five day weekend. dd3âs birthday is Sunday and we will be celebrating her. Dinner will be out - I havenât picked where yet- but the weather is nice and Iâm thinking of patio dining on the water of a cute nearby town. I will do some scrapping this morning and then later I want to start working on a painting furniture project. Have a great day!

scrapmaven have a great time! lucyg glad you are feeling good. We are behind you! DH and both DS's got the tree cut up and moved. I started cleaning up the yard about 1:00 and I worked on it until 6:00 then said I can't do any more. I only have a small part left to do but my back is killing me today. I am going on a short walk to see how I feel then I think I deserve a pedi. Dinner is BLT sandwiches. Have a lovely day!

Hi ladies, I'm glad to be reconnecting with my friends here, I thought of you all often. lucyg and **GypsyGirl** Sending hugs and prayers for you both. Dinner was supposed to be dinner with my brother in law and his wife, but DH is still at the ranch and wants to reschedule. I'll have whatever I decide upon at the moment, We leave on vacation on Saturday, so I'm in prep and pack mode. I tried to attach some pics of the puppy, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it, if someone can give me a quick tutorial, I'll upload a couple of cuteness pics. :-) Have a great day ladies!!

DH left early to play golf in a town towards the Bay Area and I woke up at 8:00! I never do that. I'll be running errands after I eat breakfast and shower. When I get home I'll do some laundry and putter around the house, maybe watch another episode of Bridgerton. Big hugs to everyone who needs them. scrapmaven , have a great time with your ODS!

Paget, wishing you a very Happy Birthday! May the year ahead be filled w/joyous moments, lots of fun and wishes fulfilled. Happy Birthday! leannec , I love hearing that you're gonna have a day visiting w/friends. Have fun. jeremysgirl , I had to giggle a bit when you mentioned ironing out the meeting agenda via email w/o your coworker. Have a good today. stormsts , rest and may your feel comfy very soon. I'm going to say one word and then I'll shut up: Acupuncture! There. I said it. Tearisci , the week before vacation is both exciting and slow. I hope that you will have a great vacation. You're almost there.
cadoodlebug , enjoy having the day to yourself. It's a YOU day. Take advantage of it. Thank you for the good wishes for my time w/my ds. It's our time to do some stuff that dh wouldn't enjoy. I miss family vacations, but yds is just so busy. Now that the kids are grown we can travel in the off season. We have a teacher and a grad student, so that doesn't work. Next summer I ods and I want to go to NYC. I hope to make that a reality.

Hello again, I missed yesterday because my PET scan ran over time and by the time I got home I was so exhausted that DH and I just made dinner and then I collapsed onto the sofa until bedtime. I did sleep really well though, so that was good. Today I decided to have a nothing day - all Iâve done is recycling on the way to the grocery store, where I picked up essentials for dinner and breakfast tomorrow. I did get a bit of knitting done, but it is still really humid here and my wrist is aching from the line they put in yesterday, so I didnât get as much done as I hoped.
Dinner tonight is homemade gnocchi - the potatoes are nearly cooked for them - with homemade pesto.

sueg , when will you get the results of your PET scan? Rest well tonight. My neurosurgeon will have the results tomorrow. It is mainly to give him a better idea of the size and location of the tumour, not diagnostic, so I doubt I will hear anything about it until I go in for the surgery.

I am going on a short walk to see how I feel then I think I deserve a pedi. Yes, you do. Consider the motion seconded by me. You were tired! I was in bed at 9 and I slept until 6:45! I was tired too! No guilt. I had to giggle a bit when you mentioned ironing out the meeting agenda via email w/o your coworker. What's funny is that she logged in for 2 minutes and 48 seconds to the meeting before she realized nobody else was coming...lol! I told you I'm in the humor stage of this job.

Hi all, it's been a while. I logged in to message **GypsyGirl** (big hugs heading your way as your DH works his way through treatment) lucyg (sending you more hugs and, honestly wishing you were in the immunotherapy group) and sueg (sending you hugs, my gyne/surgical oncologists used the PET and CT scans to map their approach which I found fascinating) and then realized I should just post a little update here to everyone. After a few months of misdiagnosis (starting with a possible hiatal hernia to definitely liver failure ), in early January we knew I had metastatic cancer in my peritoneal cavity. Another month or so of testing/procedures, etc., I finally saw my current co-favorite* person in the world whose first words to me were "you are an enigma". Not what I wanted to hear from the gynecologic oncologist, so I burst into tears. Quickly recovered, had an endometrial biopsy and a week later got the stage 4 endometrial cancer diagnosis. I have a great medical oncologist but have seriously been so lucky to have a gyn onc that is on the leading edge of the field, spearheading clinical studies/research/teaching at UCSD. Bottom line is my team has been incredibly positive about my prognosis from the beginning, with everything coming down to how I responded to a combined chemo/immunotherapy treatment. It did the job and led to a major abdominal surgery in May, and a month to recover enough for another couple rounds of c/i. I had my final chemo round Monday and will continue with the immunotherapy for at least a year (according to my med onc) or two (according to my gyne onc). It is Keytruda that I'm taking **GypsyGirl** , so I went back to read through your DH's reaction to it. It sounds like he has a great team, including YOU. I have worried more about DH's stress level than mine through all of this. *my other co-favorite is DH, who has been an incredible advocate especially when we got stuck in the liver failure hell where nothing made sense It is while I'm having my 5+ hour infusion that I usually wander over to check in on the dinner thread on my phone, but I'm also drifting off to nap half the time so don't login/post/respond. My side effects are so well managed except for fatigue and brain fog, which is starting today and will last until Sunday most likely. It is like a switch goes off on the 8th day and I'm back to normal. The family takes over the kitchen/dinner for what we call chemo week, so the kids are making spaghetti tonight. If I don't feel up to it, I'll have a toasted turkey sandwich. Enjoy your getaway with your DS, scrapmaven . As our kids hit their 20s, we really have shifted to accepting that taking one-on-one trips when we can is the way to go rather than trying to coordinate everyone.

bc2ca: Sending positive thoughts out to you. paget: Happy Birthday! We are still trying to clean up the basement and dry the carpet. Decided itâs a good time to go through some stuff and get rid of anything that doesnât âbring us joyâ. And as we attempt to dry things out, the clouds have darkened, the wind has picked up and the rain is in the way. This is never ending! Supper will be spaghetti.

bc2ca I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Keeping you in my thoughts! jeremysgirl today is supposed to be our last day of high temps and high humidity. It will only be in the 70's the rest of the week and weekend. Maybe it will move north to you. I went and got a pedi and it was the worse one I have EVER had. I have never seen this gal in there before. I couldn't relax and enjoy myself. Oh well, at least I have a fresh coat of color.
