A comedy legend.
I am old enough to have seen both Newhart tv shows. I loved sharing Elf and Professor Proton with my kids.
His wife passed last year. They were married 60 years and Buddy Hackett introduced them. Apparently, Ginnie Newhart suggested the ending of the second series.
Condolences to their four children.

The Professor Proton episode aired tonight where he went to the hospital for heart attack and gave Sheldon the title of Jr.... it was sad, knowing what happened, even though comedic. Yes, those who give young scientists a boost, I applaud all. Yeah, to Professor Proton!
