What is going on. So many iconic deaths this last week. Newhart was a genius. He lived a long life, but is is still sad he is gone. Rest in peace.

Oh man.. what a week.. this is a sad one.
What makes me even sadder, I just told my daughter who is 27, that he died and she said 'who'. That killed me.

I literally thought he, Dr Ruth, and Richard Simmons were already dead.
I hope Dolly has many years left still. She's the only older celebrity I'm sure about. Wait, isn't Dick van Dyke still alive and like 100?

Wait, isn't Dick van Dyke still alive and like 100? Same - I thought Bob was gone already. Maybe because they killed his character in Big Bang and that’s why I thought that. And yes - Dick VanDyke is still kicking!

I saw this and was so sad, even though I guess it really isn’t that unexpected. I loved him in Big Bang as Professor Proton.
I also grew up near the inn used in the opening for Newhart, so that also makes him more endearing to me. 🥰

I was too young to have watched The Bob Newhart Show when it first aired. But when I was on maternity leave with my first born, so late 1997-98, we had just got cable TV. I loved watching all the old shows when I had to get up in the middle of the night to feed. I became very fond of him after watching his show. I’m glad he lived a long (hopefully happy) life.

I think the last episode of Newhart was the best series ending ever!

Oh, I loved Bob Newhart, too! This makes me so sad. He was a brilliant actor, in everything he did. His comic timing was absolute perfection.

I remember the first Newhart show. I think it came on Saturday nights after Mary Tyler Moore. I was a little too young to appreciate the humor. I loved his guest appearances on the Big Bang Theory.
The 2nd Newhart show had the best series finale ever.

I asked DH if he was dead a few months ago. Apparently, I was confused because his character died on Big Bang Theory. I still thought today when I heard the news"but isn't he already dead?" I am not very smart...
I loved his BBT character, Professor Proton. I don't remember watching the other things he acted in.
