When Heartfelt Creations switched to digital, I loved the print and cut options. Then HC went for at least a month with no additional digital files, so I started looking online for other digital scrapbook options. That search took me to Etsy, and I found a ton of fun designs to use for both scrapbooking and card making. Some of them reminded me of ephemera that I recently saw during a rare visit to the new LSS (which is a long drive to get to). I had a limited budget, though, so I bought mostly papers. However, I found similar ephemera png files on Etsy. That’s when I really dived down the rabbit hole.
I have been having an absolute ball printing designs from both HC and Etsy shops for my Cameo to cut. DH bought me a 13x19 printer, so I have printed some 12x12 papers, too.
It’s like having my own little store in my craft room, which is fabulous, but I keep thinking of designs to check Etsy for, and I am doing a lot more printing and cutting than crafting. I know some people get overwhelmed by too many options. I am the opposite. I love options, and the more options I have, the better.
I’m curious, though, for those of you who use digital files, are you strictly a digital scrapper, or do you do some traditional paper scrapbooking and/or card making, too?
I can’t be the only hybrid paper crafter here.

I'm hybrid in the sense that I use printables for embellishments and journaling tags and digital stamps on my photos. Some of my favorite designers are In A Creative Bubble, Traci Reed, Paislee Press and Syncopation Design. I also loved Nelly & Clem but she shut her shop last year.

Same, I use a lot of those same designers plus a ton I've downloaded from the Lily Pad, GingerScraps, etc.

I've started with hybrid - I don't have an LSS near me and ordering online involved expensive shipping and duties, so it was a bit out of necessity. I love cutting and pasting so I'm not sure I'd ever go all the way digital - in my brain there's still a thinking aspect to manipulating a laptop or iPad to get things how I want that I don't enjoy as much as the 'flow'/mindlessness feeling moving stuff by hand. I do like that I can get just about anything I can think of - any theme or style, and then even edit those for colour or size. It does feel like the digital stuff I create/play with and the paper stuff I print/make are almost two different hobbies - I have fun making digital embellishments or printable, and then I like scrapbooking with anything I've printed out.
I don't have a lot of experience but I have been loving using Canva. I paid for the year subscription after using the free version for a long time. I like having all the fonts available and I use graphics that are part of the paid version for probably 50% of what I make. There are a few designers/illustrators that I like there and use their images to make sheets of printables/stickers.
I haven't printed any large papers - I have too much stash and usually do fairly plan backgrounds anyways, but I'll print pocket cards. Otherwise It's pretty much just stickers, embellishments, clusters, etc. I'm trying to get more into the habit of typing out my journalling onto tags and labels. I don't hate my handwriting I just never seem to go back to fill it in when I leave a space on my pages to journal in later.

I love cutting and pasting so I'm not sure I'd ever go all the way digital … I have fun making digital embellishments or printable, and then I like scrapbooking with anything I've printed out. I’m used to using Photoshop Elements for adapting photos, but I didn’t enjoy digital scrapbooking when I tried it. I may start designing my own digital papers and elements/ephemera eventually, but for now I am enjoying printing and cutting digital downloads that I buy and are ready to use. I have a huge physical paper stash, mostly a result of sales, previous Tuesday Morning purchases, and a lot of guessing what would be useful for scrapbooking. I like having the physical products. I’m just apparently a very bad guesser for what I would actually need and use. Like you, most of my digital downloads are for elements/ephemera. I love that digital products can be stored on an external hard drive, are easy to browse, and I can just print what I need when I need it. When I print digital ephemera or digital 12x12 paper, the end result is still physical papers and ephemera for traditional scrapbooking, just as if I’d gone shopping at the LSS, but without the cost of gas, taking the time to drive there, and very little physical storage space needed. The bonus is that it is essentially immediate gratification. Oh, and I appreciate that I can size it to whatever size I want or need it to be.

I love that digital products can be stored on an external hard drive, are easy to browse, and I can just print what I need when I need it. I’m a bad guesser too - but digital hasn’t made me any better. I still seem to buy things that catch my eye with the believe that I’ll go somewhere or do something that will need whatever randomness I’ve fallen for. 🙄 I like that they take less physical space - although I find it takes me longer to find things. I thought I had a fairly straightforward organization of things set up and was over the moon when I finally learned how to change the file folder icon to an image of what was inside the folder, but I’m still left swiping through everything. Unless I can recall an exact item I’m looking for (and recall the designer or name of it), I’m left scrolling. Right now everything’s in a Digital Scrap folder, that I have divided by website/manufacturer (so Studio Calico, OScraps, Lilypad, Sweet Shoppe, Ali Edwards), and then by designer (Humble&Create, Lynn Grieveson), and then by Collection - I’ll divide that by Paper, Ephemera, Stickers, Stamps, Alphas…. I like the idea of having collections together but then it means I have things like labels or word stickers in dozens of different places. I’d love to hear how others organize their stuff or if there a video, blog, etc with anyone walking through the different set ups…? I have a MacBook ( not sure that’s important but I haven’t been near a PC in so long I’m not sure how similar or dissimilar they are any more).
