I used to be a crazy bumpy scrapper. Talk about fat albums! Now, I do like dimension, but not too much. My latest obsession is hand stitching on my layouts. About 10 years ago it was all about machine stitching in my PL spreads (inspired by 2Peas Saturday PL videos). I love enamel dots and the flatter pop dots for lift. I'm a huge fan of layering embellishments.

I have always enjoyed adding dimension to my layouts. I have recently fallen into the mosaic moments die rabbit hole. Love the complexity of cutting the dies and creating the pages. Given my newer path of scrapbooking most of my recent layouts are flat.

Mostly flat, although my Dec Daily definately has some bumps. That's where I experiment. But PL, WITL, and my regular layouts are very flat.

I’m a 3D scrapper, for sure, but I try to keep the layers lower than a gemstone height. I won’t use gemstones because they are too hard and thick, and leave indentations in the page protectors.

Late to this convo, but I prefer some dimension - chipboard, foam thickers, enamel dots. I use foam tape to pop things up. I really love SBC’s new 1 mm foam adhesive - gives just a little height, but not too much. I still use the 2 mm foam as well.
I’m not a fan of super thick embellishments, especially hard ones, like binders clips and mini clothes pins (49&Market) and sometimes worry about using acrylic pieces that are thick and hard. I love the look, but not the indentations they make on opposing pages.

Flat. I'm not opposed to bumpy, I just don't use that many embellishments.

I do both, depending on mood, time, available materials, and mojo. I love the look of stenciled paste, and often use Nuvo drops to draw or handwrite on my LO's. I might pop up a photo or accent piece, crimp, emboss, or otherwise mess up cs. But alot of the time, other than foam letter stickers in my title, my pages will be completely flat. Elements may be overlapped, but nothing popped up.
Overall, my pages are alot flatter than they used to be. I think that is b/c the products now have the LOOk of dimension without all the bulk.

Bumpy please. when I traditionally scrapped like 18-20 years ago I was bumpy to the max! Now I do PL and while I’m mostly flat I’m not opposed to a big brad or some ribbon. But for December daily I go back to my bumpy roots and chunk that baby up. I love it. The more the better.

A mix of both... a lot of my 12x12 have bumps... my junk journaling is mostly flat'ish..as they tend to get fat without adding bumps...
I would try Temu for pop dots.. I am pretty sure I have seen them on there. Free shipping too.. and cheap.

I guess "a little bumpy". Enamel dots, paper flowers, ribbon, some of the thinner pop dots (like the ones fr Scrapbook Adhesives), flatter buttons...that's about as bumpy as I get. I once made an album as a gift and used a lot more dimensional items and lots of pop dots and it was sooo thick. I decided that I had gone too far. Thanks for keeping the board moving artbabe.

I started scrapbooking right after I got married and back then my pages were bumpy and I was very on trend with the scrapbook magazines. Now that I have a child (and more nieces and nephews) I have many more photos, so I am a flat scrapbooker because I want to fit more pages in my albums.

I like a bit of dimension, but I do two page layouts, and bumpy embellishments work better if you don’t have another layout facing a coordinating page. The bumpy stuff tends to make dents. I discovered that the hard way.
The more layers or dimension, the fewer pages I can get into an album, so that is another factor that drives how I scrapbook.
Cards, though, can be as bumpy as I choose, especially if they are being hand delivered rather than mailed.

I like a little 3d. For instance, when I make Mickey Mouse, I add a couple layers to his nose so it raises up. I use my cuttlebug folders to add texture. Window frames might be popped up with pop dots or double sided tape. I also like a little movement. When I did my Disney autograph book, I made tigger bounce on the page, and eeyore’s tail was held on with a removal magnet. I have barn doors that open to reveal cows made with suede paper so they are fuzzy. Stuff like that. More so with the little kid pages usually.

I’ve always gone with lumpy. I like the 3D look.

This is usually how I operate. My PL pages tend to be quite flat, but I like to play more on my traditional layouts and add in all kinds of lump and bump. I try not to go too think, but I like what it can add to a page. I like experimenting with different heights of foam. I have bought sheets off of amazon, and just cut them up and glue or double sided tape them to whatever I am popping. I have also used the kids craft foam sheets from Walmart. Both are much cheaper than pop dots, which I still use when necessary, but these work well for larger elements.

I like a little dimension--pop dots, enamel dots, thinner chipboard, etc. I think it makes my pages more interesting. I regret my very bumpy layouts, though. In my older layouts, some of my elements poke through to the facing pages. (Thanks for keeping the board moving, artbabe.)
