I'm not sure what I'm missing or what I'm doing (searching) wrong - I can't seem to find a solution and it's driving me crazy. I'm sure this has been asked (and answered) many time before too but I can't seem to fit any answer I've found into my situation and get a fix.
So - this will become obvious, but I'm not a techie. I have a MacBook, iPad Pro, iPhone, Epson PM 400, and Epson XP 970. All are up to date as of last week, they all connect to each other fine, I can't see anything problem with the hardware or software.
I use Photos or sometimes an app on my phone to edit photos (colour, brightness, cropping). I have a bunch of apps that I can use for editing or photo collage and they all seem to work okay - can use them, make changes, save the edited photos.
I like to use Canva (have the paid Pro version), have products from Lilypad, Oscraps, Studio Calico, and a few other sites. I've used BeFunky in the past - couple years ago, and have some apps that will let me create layouts on my iPad.
I have printed directly from Photos, saved from Canva (jpg, PDF, etc) then printed, printed from Epson Photo+ and Epson Creative.
All that to say, I still can't figure out how to print onto a 4x6 two 3x4s that each have a white border around them that is equal on all sides when I cut the 4x6 in half! The border width between the two 3x4 is the same width as the width of the border around the edges so it ends up being half the size I want it to be once I cut the 4x6 in half.
I'm also having a problem getting the printer to print "borderless" when I create/save a photo collage that has a white border that I've put on it before saving. I can select Epson 4x6 borderless, Photo Glossy 4x6 (so a size compatible with borderless), click Borderless, select it on the printer itself...and still can't get it to print the full width of the edge border. On the preview it will look like the saved photo (with the white border I put around it) is centered on the 4x6 but when it prints it shift it so that the photo is against one edge of the 4x6/the white border is ignored along that edge.
I have in the past just fiddled around - print a 3x4 in the middle of a 4x6 and waste the rest, print twice and trim for framed picture one and then trim for picture two, etc. If I'm only doing a layout or two then it's a hassle but doesn't cause too much of a problem. I'm starting a huge travel album that will be 75% 3x4 in 3x4 pockets and I want them all to have the same size borders, don't want print twice and waste ink/paper, and don't want to spend the time having to eyeball and fiddle with each of the 1000 photos. I want something where I can just select/drop the photos I want, hit print, and have them turn out with the equal borders and the same spacing/size.
What am I missing? I feel like it's something with the Epson printers, but they're both dedicated photo printers - I can't image Epson is unaware that people want borderless prints or that their borderless prints might have white borders as part of the file/photo.
Why won't Epson believe me when I say that this 4x6 photo with white along the edges is truly 4x6 and it won't make me mad if it 'prints' the white space?!
