artbabe thought it would be great if everyone started one thread, so here's mine. Do you sell any of your creations---scrapbooking or other paper-crafting? And if so, do you sell on Etsy, FB Marketplace, local shows, your own website, other? Many moons ago, aka the 90s, I did used to sell some items in craft shows, but never to the extent of having my own booth or table, or even going half and half with someone. It was always more like a basket full of teeny brag albums at a friend's table, or gift tags at an aunt's booth, or some cards at my MIL's show. That kind of thing. The reason I never got more into it was two fold. In the beginning I was using stamped images, and at the time it was a bit of an ordeal to get permission from all the different stamp companies to sell anything made with their stamps. Some companies were totally great about it, while other made you jump through numerous flaming hoops, and some just said "NOPE", and that was that. Then, as scrapbooking picked up and suddenly it was so much easier to get pretty papers to make things with, I started having kids, and when I had a few minutes to craft, I wanted to scrapbook my kid pics, not make gift tags to sell for a few bucks. However, while I still don't wish to go start going to craft shows, I do LOVE watching YouTube videos where people show what they're bringing to craft shows and/or telling us what sold well & what didn't. It seems silly, but I do really like them! To those selling things--best of success to you!

I have a couple of friends who come to me first when they need a card and generally insist on slipping me some cash when they take some. Other than that, no.

I used to sell cards on Etsy but it got to be more trouble than it was worth so I closed my shop. I do have some friends who insist on paying me for cards I make (to donate) but mostly I just give everything away for free.
I've never enjoyed markets (I don't even like going to the farmer's market! am I allowed to say that? I like the idea of them but feel really uncomfortable in reality) so selling my stuff at markets was a big nope for me.

I know from helping out with other people's stalls/booths at markets that it I personally find it can be awkward standing there while people are browsing sometimes. And on the flip side, sometimes it can feel that way when I am the buyer as well. Some sellers are very engaging, but some just stare you down, which makes me want to flee from their products, not buy them.

Occasionally, but not as often as I used to. I always worked from orders though rather than selling cards I’d already made. I’ve made many, many mini albums over the years for customers, usually for special birthdays, but sometimes for weddings or special wedding anniversaries. I haven’t done one in a couple of years, and I don’t plan to make any in the future! So much work! And even though I charged a decent amount of money for them, the hourly rate wasn’t great. (I’m a slow worker. 😄)

I could never make anything that resembled a decent hourly rate with how very very S-L-O-W-L-Y I create things. I made a baby album for my first born niece and a friend of their mom (who was very close to the end of her own pregnancy) saw it and dropped hints about wishing they could buy one and I had to say "no", because that baby would be pushing 6 months old before I had it done, LOL!

I don’t sell anything scrappy, or paper crafty, but I do sell my creations made with polymer clay. It’s similar in that I get to be creative, and I do lots of layering.

I donated a 12 page memory book I’d made to my school auction. It was Disney themed and went for $160. I spent so much time making it that selling them wouldn’t be profitable. Once for school was good enough for me.

I used to go to some local shows where there was a crafter who worked with polymer clay and I always enjoyed seeing/buying her things. She sold a lot of small simple, but cute items, magnets, pins, small frames, ornaments, etc. But I've seen people create incredibly detailed figures with polymer clay as well, and I like seeing the beads people can make too.

At one point, I tried making & selling pre-made scrapbooks (you would just add pictures). I sold a few (very few) at a craft fair that my husband was selling stuff at so I wasn't out a booth fee. I posted them online as well but really did not get much engagement so I stopped that idea. I also make cards & have had people say I should sell them but as most of us know, I'd never make back what I've spent on the creation. So now I just give them away or donate them to various organizations. Plus I feel like the pressure of creating for selling would hurt my mojo...

A cousin of mine is a very prolific card maker and this is what she does as well. I do agree that the pressure to sell can be a real deterrent for people sometimes.
