Hi everyone! I'm meeting my mum for breakfast at Denny's soon so I'm posting early! Today is an exciting day for me ... I have a bunch of things to do before my friend from grade 3, who has not lived in Calgary since grade 7, will be visiting me with her husband for the next week or so! We can't wait!!! They fly in from Ontario at 11:30 pm tonight ... I don't know how tired they will be but hopefully we can catch up a bit before we go to bed. I posted this meme on Facebook today for them ... she managed to get a really good deal on business class seats so at least they will ride in comfort! (It's only about five hours). Unfortunately, they have to leave Malcolm the Pug at home because he cannot go to the places we plan to visit. . I have so much planned for us to do ... we are going to be TIRED by the end of the week but it will be a lot of fun! Today I need to go to the mall for a couple of last minute things ... vacuum my Jeep ... clean out the back of the Jeep so there is room for their luggage ... organize all of our tickets and passes for our outings and wipe down my embarrassing fridge interior! Whew! Dinner is completely unknown ... How is your dh feeling today **GypsyGirl**? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Thank you for checking on me. I meant to reply last night but was just too wiped out when I got home. So far he is resting comfortably this morning. Yesterday afternoon about 3 pm they made the decision to intubate him again until the treatments for the MG have had time to kick in fully. His muscles still aren't strong enough to expel the co2 and those numbers kept climbing. He was part of the decision so hopefully that means he will not try ripping it out this time. Due to that he is sedated. They also did a bronchoscopy where they went in and checked out his lungs/airways and cleared out some stuff. Also too samples to make sure there are no other infections. Other than that it will be an easy day. DD and I have decided to tag team our visits for the next few days. She is going this morning to sit with him and I'll go up after lunch for a couple of hours. Then I need to make a grocery store stop for fresh produce and bread. She is planning to come over later to harvest my basil and make a batch of fresh pesto for us. We'll have some for dinner (w/pasta) and freeze some for later. Thinking of those with health and family issues and wishing everyone a calm Sunday.

Have a great time with your friends, leannec. This morning we have church but first I need to make a card and wrap gifts. Today is dd3ās birthday so we are heading out to see her after church. Dh is going to Install some things in her condo for her and then we will Go out to lunch. We are going to a restaurant by her we all really like for lunch and we can bring our dogs on the patio. Once we finally drive home (sheās about an hour and half way) Iām not making dinner so we will just have leftovers. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Sunday!
I slept like crap last night and had weird dreams that we were making guacamole for Princess Kate. I'm dragging this morning and will probably get a nap in sometime during the day.
I'm trying to talk my family into lunch at our local Tex-Mex place that is serving $1.50 mimosas but no one has committed yet. Part of me wants to stay in my pajamas and just play video games but I'm heading on vacation later in the week so I really need to get my house in order.
I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I have some hamburger to use up and I also took out some chicken from the freezer so I've got options.
Hope you all have a great day!

Damnit! leannec you posted early so I guess I've got to go shower. š¤£šš¤£š You sound super excited about your friends visit. I hope you have the very best time. Based on what you said on Facebook it sounds like you have a jammed packed schedule planned. I'd need 3 days to recover after they leave. š I'm on my third load of laundry. I drank 4 12 oz cups of coffee, 2 decaf, I'm not trying to pump my heart out of my chest. I've been sitting on my deck with my dog reading a book. So at least I feel like I'm accomplishing something. Yes, I count reading as an accomplishment. š Don't tell my dad. š¤«š cadoodlebug your pic of the moon was awesome! I don't know what's for dinner tonight. I have more filling and tortillas for flautas. If I eat them for lunch then I might make a wedding soup with cannellini bean balls. I've made it before and it is a hit with Jeremy. Either way dinner will be tasty.

**GypsyGirl** I'm sorry to read your update. However hopefully now if he does have an infection they can isolate and treat it. I am also glad he had some agency in the decision to intubate. Big hugs. Just big hugs.

Tearisci I'm laughing so hard at making guacamole for Princess Kate. š No judgement because that sounds exactly like one of the dreams I'd have. And I always have dreams, nutty ones.

Oh please guys. Can anyone recommend a olive oil sprayer? I swear I will even order it from Amazon if necessary. Jeremy bought me one at our grocery store and it's terrible. I'm looking for something that aerates better. So it's like a mist.

leannec - enjoy your visit with your friend. It sounds like you have a great week planned. **GypsyGirl** - I hope your DH starts to improve soon. Big hugs to you both This morning DH had to be at the airport for an 11:20 flight to Portugal - luckily carryon only and he has close in parking and priority security, so he didnāt need to be there too early - so he dropped me at the Starbucks a train station away from church on his way. After I got home, DS1 called and DS2 joined in. DS1 and DDiL are exhausted getting ready for the funeral on Tuesday. DS2 is back down in Melbourne for a couple of days, and will help with organisation stuff tomorrow, as well as helping with the girls - Lucia just loves her uncle Dom! DS told me they wanted to hold the funeral last Friday, but the parish priest where DDiLās parents live passed early last week also, and his funeral had priority, which I guess is understandable. I am not sure what dinner is tonight, except that it will be chicken. I might just grill it with some herbs and make salad, as it is too hot to think of anything else.

If you do want to try one, maybe one of those empty ultra fine misting bottles you fill yourself? They work great for my ironing water and starches. Just looked and they do sell one for olive oil, it has a glass bottle and not plastic like what I have. olive oil mister bottle

I'm going to try it. Do you mean you use like the olive oil version of pam? Yes, although recently I've switched to using grapeseed oil spray. There are other brands, I just look for one from Italy/Europe.

We had a fantastic supper last night at friends. We supplied the t bone steak and they also made Caesar salad, grilled carrots, baked potatoes and fried mushrooms. Yummy!
Walker was at home by himself for 5 hours. Thatās the longest that weāve left him on his own in the house and it was a non issue. When we left he was on the couch and when we came home he was on the couch. He has never gotten into anything or chewed anything on the house. He does, however, enjoy chewing on our wood deck furniture outside.
DH is going riding (ATV) with my brother this afternoon. I will take my mom to the grocery store while heās gone.
Supper will be whatever good thing I find while grocery shopping.

Who are you and what have you done w/ leannec ? You're going to be super busy w/fun stuff. You do sound very excited and I hope you have a fabulous time w/your friends. What are some of the things that you have planned? **GypsyGirl** , my heart goes out to you. It's good to take shifts. Please use some of that downtime to rest. Errands and the house will still be there when your dh comes home. (((((HUGS)))). ntsf , it's smart to rest your vocal chords when you're still hoarse. Sounds like a disappointing morning. I hope that you'll add some fun into your day.
taylortroop we bought a special pet tape in order to protect our new furniture. It's not attractive, but it saves the furniture. Would that help? It's going to be hot again for a few days. Luckily, dinner is rechauffe chicken Florentine and bruschetta. My neighbors enjoyed it, too. Tmw night I"ll make chicken sandwiches for everyone. Today I'll play a video game and putter around. Not much happening here and that's OK. Enjoy today, tribe.

We just got back from our walk. I need to go to Target for a few things and maybe hit Raley's for inspiration for dinner. I'll do some puttering around the house and finish my book. For those who missed the moon last night (and my picture) it was spectacular! The picture was taken with my cell phone.

He does, however, enjoy chewing on our wood deck furniture outside. My last Belgian was a wood chewer. Have you tried Bitter Apple spray? You spray it on the wood and they don't like the taste so avoid it. It worked with her.

I was up at 5. Church at 7 then the grocery. Home by 9 to workout. I plan on working on a piece to submit to a show in October. Itās going to be a mini flower press with a watercolor painting on enamel for the top piece. Itās required to have only ācoldā connections so no soldering the painting on. Also the screws canāt go through the enamel or it will cause cracking. So far Iām still puttering around the house.rather than starting it. I put my custom made shoe inserts somewhere so my dog wouldnāt get them. Now I canāt find them. Picking dd1 & her family up from the airport at 2. Dinner is grilled pork tenderloin, salad & veggies. **GypsyGirl** I hope this latest intubation can get your dh over that last hump. Itās taxing to sit and watch your loved one going through that. Be good to yourself. leannec enjoy your time with your friends.

Hi all! I have no idea what to have for dinner tonight. We usually do salmon, corn, and rice on Sundays, but DH just wants soup. I don't know if I'll have that or maybe make some eggs. š¤·š¼
I'm still feeling sort of crummy because of my ear. I hate being sick. DH has fortunately gotten over the worst of him being sick, it's just the fatigue getting to him now.

Morning, you all. Well actually itās just past noon now, even in California. I have frittered away half the day already. oooops I have rechauffe spaghetti and meat sauce my sister brought over, and lots of fresh veggie options. Thereās dinner. Tomorrow I start treatment again. I expect to be in chemo jail for most of the day. **GypsyGirl**, Iām so sorry your DHās medical woes are continuing. Sending get-better-fast wishes. Enjoy your visit with your friends, leannec. Hope those who arenāt 100% also start feeling better.

**GypsyGirl** I hope this is the last hurdle before your DH begins his quick recovery. Your strength and positive attitude are inspiring.
I am continuing with yard work today. I just took a break and read about President Biden. My heart goes out to him and his family. He is a true patriot.
Iām feeling a bit lonely today as everyone in my family is off doing fun stuff. Itās days like today that I wish I had a partner to do things with. My not so DH used to be a fun guy before his addiction took over his life. But Iām blessed in so many other ways so I canāt complain too much.
Iām tired of cooking for myself so Iāll probably scrounge up a sandwich or have cereal.

Not sure whatās for dinner. I just got out of the pool at my motherās. Today was the last day that my great nephews and their mom and dad are here. They head home to Florida tomorrow and God darn it. I am going to miss them so much. The almost 5-year-old has learned how to, with his motherās help, FaceTime us. When he gave me a hug, goodbye, he told me he loved me and that heāll call me soon. Iām so glad I get to spend time with them this winter.

I am having more company for dinner tonight. Dadās GF who I really like is coming and we are having an old farm dinner. Corn, bread and coleslaw. (I didnāt come up with the idea).
We got a couple of drops of rain (literally unfortunately). I went and got groceries.
I gave most of the Japanese chicken (Karaage) to DS because we are getting sick of it.
Omg kids are here!
