I purchased a replacement left wheel yoke for my 15 year old lawn mower. The buyer listed the part as new and in excellent condition.
We have had a very rainy summer and I have an hoa so keeping the lawn mowed is important or you will be fined.
The yoke arrived on Friday and I took the day off to mow. Then I discover there is a sheared off bolt in where I need to bolt the yoke to my mower. Since my mower is older this left yoke was very difficult to find and I immediately try to find a place that can get it out. It took all day but I found a place. The whole process was very aggravating and I took pictures since I planned to contact the seller.
After messaging back and forth to the seller he said he would refund half the cost $35 if I did not leave a bad review. Since the credit has not shown yet I messaged him yesterday and his response was that eBay has to review and approve.
In your experience does eBay approve a refund? At this point $35 is not going to impact my financials and I am feeling that leaving an honest review is more important than $35.
I rarely buy on eBay so this is new to me - any thoughts or suggestions.

Contact ebay customer service. He is involved in feedback extortion and they will make it right.

Get eBay involved, and I would expect a full refund.

Thank you all so much. I sent a message to eBay and hopefully I did that correctly. I am not an eBay shopper so this is new to me.

Ebay does not appreciate when sellers list what they refer to as "INAD"s, meaning Item Not As Described.
They tend to lean very heavily in favor of buyers in most issues, but especially in issues where the buyer wasn't honest about what they were selling. I would be very surprised if Ebay didn't issue a refund.
And then, given the seller's response to you, oh yeah, I'd leave a very honest feedback.
