I saw that Benedict’s story is coming for season 4. I’ve read all the books so I know who he ends up with (no spoilers just in case).
I saw on some social media site that Cressida is going to be his love interest. I know it’s BS but I thought it was an interesting idea. I feel like season 3 showed us another side of her and made her more compassionate, maybe to give her a bigger storyline?
I don’t think I would hate that, honestly.

I would hate it too. I didn’t see a more compassionate side to her at all. Just because her parents were pushing her to marry didn’t give her any reason to be such a B to everyone. I don’t think she should have been forced to marry some old guy, but maybe she would have had better prospects among the younger men had she been a kinder person.

I would not be a fan if this happened.

No, I got the impression from some posts that Benedict’s love interest may be associated with the Cowpers rather than the family in the books, but it won’t be Cressida.

I saw that Michayla (spelling?) is the cousin of Francesca's new husband, whereas in the books, it was Michael. It seems Francesca is set up for a new relationship (because her new husband dies young.) I thought that major shift from the books was going to be a focus for the next season.
I kinda kept having that thought about Cressida the last few episodes... like--- I feel like I'm supposed to like her more- but I don't!! Yeah, she got the raw end of the deal, but if she wasn't such a little snake the first couple seasons she was out, she may have found her a better man lol
Penelope just is so irritating to me. She is wicked, and still manages to come out smelling like roses- and then some.
I don't know if I'll watch the next season. This has totally devolved into a soap opera for me. But not the good ones with cliff hangers!

Did anyone else think the Penelope/Colin coach scene seemed quite incongruent with the reserved way relationships were presented in earlier episodes? At first, a “good” girl could not even be out in the courtyard with a male unless she had a chaperone with her or her reputation would be completely ruined. And the girls were not being educated about sex at all.
The men were very chivalrous toward the daughters of the wealthy members of the ton while freely sleeping with the “lower ranked” women in town. Then Colin is performing uh, something, on Pen in the coach before he proposed to her? It seemed inconsistent with how relationships were presented. And like Colin was taking an unfair advantage of Pen, knowing she was hopelessly in love with him. I would have thought his upbringing would have compelled him to be chivalrous with her, you know, showing the utmost respect for her. Thoughts?

I agree Lexica. Of the 4 seasons (I'm including Queen Charlotte) this was my least favorite. I haven't read any of the books, just watched the shows. My favorite person is Eloise. Cressida is nasty.

I don't believe Cressida would know compassion if it slapped her in the face! I didn't enjoy the Penelope and Colin storyline much, the chemistry between them was tepid at best and Penelope didn't deserve to be forgiven so easily. Eloise is my favourite, I love her disdain for the marriage market.

I can't see Cressida with Benedict at all - but who knows with the way they use their artistic licence! And I too, love Eloise

If I remember correctly most/all the books and most other romance that I've read from this era follow a similar story line with "relations" of some sort happening prior to the wedding. Either it is done for the story and or what was publicly accepted at the time differed from what actually happened behind closed doors. I don't know enough of that historical time period to know what is historically accurate. Several (general) stories also mention that it was common for many married men to have a women on the side that was not discussed. I assume this is also more frequent in "loveless" marriages, those where they married for social/political/financial reasons over actually liking each other.
