This little 16 question test is supposed to tell you where you are on the conditions today.
Over 20 years ago I took a similar quiz and it said I was extremely liberal.
In 2024, I'm not --according to this quiz.

Okay is this a true quiz? I ask because I got:
Populist Right are very conservative and overwhelmingly Republican; they stand out for their intensely negative views of immigration. Unlike other GOP-oriented groups, they are highly critical of large corporations and banks and say the economic system unfairly favors powerful interests. They express strong support for former President Donald Trump; a majority say he should run for president again in 2024. Like the other two deeply ideologically conservative typology groups, Populist Right are overwhelmingly White. However, in contrast with these groups, a majority are women. Populist Right also have less formal education than most other typology groups; just two-in-ten are college graduates.
What the actual hell.
I see it's from 2021. So maybe that is why?
I am for more expansion of programs
I am for LGBTQ rights
I am against corporations making huge profits
I am against manufacturing jobs leaving the US for lower overhead costs and higher profits
Etc
Wtf

There was a question that asked if there was anyone running that I aligned with politically and I said yes. Harris. Biden too but Harris more.

It said I’m progressive left. Here’s my comment on the other thread:

Progressive Left according to this quiz. I would have thought I'd be more middle of the road.

I took the quiz and it came out establishment liberal but frankly the questions lacked depth. Yes or No answers don't allow you fall into the middle.

I describe myself as moderate and I'm non-party affliated - the quiz said outsider left for me.... looking at where that falls on their spectrum, it's roughly correct I would say even if the description wasn't entirely

The quiz I posted has Harris listed as a candidate. So this is a very current quiz.

I got Establishment Left which surprised me because I thought of myself as leaning left but not that far. I'm a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights though so I was very extreme on those topics.

I took the Pew quiz twice, changing only how I rated Democrats on the "temperature scale". A score of 70 put me at "Democratic Mainstay", a score of 50 put me at "Ambivalent Right". Splitting the difference, I'd be on the cusp of "Outsider Left" and "Stressed Sideliner", which is probably how I'd actually describe myself.

Democratic Mainstays
I didn't like that last question or the pick of the answers. I don't think it can be either of those options.

I came out progressive left. I think that might be overstating the case slightly, but I definitely knew I was left.
I started out as Republican, socially liberal but fiscally conservative. I believed in small government. I voted for a lot of Republican candidates.
Then Trump was elected and Republicans lost their damn mind. Everything seems to be ramped up 100% and their view on every social issue seems to be horrible. It is crazy. Where did the moderates go?
I think I'd have a hard time voting for a Republican now.

Progressive Left. I’m not sure about the questions or wording in this particular quiz. Regardless, I move more and more left with age.

Establishment Liberal, not surprised. A few of the questions were not easily answered with a simple yes or no.

Establishment Liberal, not surprised. A few of the questions were not easily answered with a simple yes or no. Yeah, same. I wanted more choices several times.

Disclaimer: I am not from the US, nor have I ever lived there. I took the quiz for fun, to see where I fell according to US standards, and some questions were hard to answer for that reason!
I came out as 'progressive left', which on this quiz was as far left as it went. Which is funny, as - if i answered the same way here in Germany, I would probably come out as Centre Left (SPD -the current ruling party) or Centre Right (CDU - Angela Merkel's party). Here are two or three parties considered further left than that here!

I know so many people like you. One of my friends worked in the Bush White House - she couldn't conceive of voting for a Republican now. Another friend comes from an old, long line of Republicans who were very well connected in their state - they hosted presidential candidates in their home during the primaries. Both feel they didn't leave the Republican party, the Republican party left them.

I got progressive left, but I think the questions were too black-and-white. There were several I would’ve answered “it depends”.

I got outsider Left:
Outsider Left are the youngest typology group. They hold liberal views on most issues, particularly on issues of racial equality and immigration, and overwhelmingly vote Democratic. They are more skeptical of government performance than other Democratic-oriented groups, though far less so than those in GOP-oriented groups. While they aren’t particularly happy with the Democratic Party, they also have deeply negative views of the GOP. Though nearly half of Outsider Left describe their own political views as liberal, only about three-in-ten identify as Democrats; about half say they are independents who lean toward the Democratic Party.

The last quiz I did like this said something like left leaning Democrat, or something. This time I got "outsider left".
