Just a little update - 8/1/24 - at the urging of a pea through private message, I booked an appt to make sure this wasn't something else going on I should be concerned about. Never even crossed my mind. But I asked about it today, along with a couple other spots and my doctor says they are all good. The scar is more of a red patch of skin (back then it was a scrape on my temple that I poked at until the scab finally fell off) and to keep the new face stuff away from it til it settles down. The other marks I asked about are age spots (ugh) and likely will get more as time goes on. All good!
I was in primary school - grade 4 I think - when I was tobogganing with a friend. Things took a turn and from what my friend pieced together for me (I have no memory of what happened) it ended up with me hitting a tree. I had a concussion and a good mark/scab on my right temple.
i haven’t thought about it in years (I mean it was over 40 years ago lol) but this week, for some reason, that mark on my temple is back. Just a light red mark, but it is a wee bit itchy.
I did start using a new face serum/cream I got last week. It is a natural, lavender based set I got from a local lavender farm that makes all their products by hand, in-house. But I haven’t noticed any other issues with it, and I love how it makes my skin feel.
Just finding it weird that this old scar has reappeared!
ETA - bit of an update. I messaged the owner of the lavender farm - she's a friend. She said she uses it on her scars, it helps with healing scar tissue. So it may just be a sensitive area. She said to give it time, and maybe avoid that area for a bit to give it some space.

my guess would be that because after healing it's usually a small texture difference, different skin, even if it's so subtle you can't see it much. But when you started using the face cream, that skin that was more sensitive took it differently and is having a little reaction, making it more visible now. I have a scar on my cheek that most of the time is hardly visible except for looking like a dimple. But i've used products in the past that it was sensitive to even if other areas of my face weren't.
is it possible to not apply the cream to that area, and see if it calms down?

I can try that for sure - it’s right by my hairline so should be easier to skip massaging thing in there.

What is the serum designed to do? Often they’re to speed up the skin renewal process so that may well have had an effect on the scar.

This is what the site says: I'm going to message the owner - she's a friend It doesn't sound as though it's got anything in it that would speed up cel renewal so maybe not. I could just have irritated the site I guess but the blurb is a little non specific to be sure.

See if there is propolis or Cera alba in ingredient list. I react terribly to this.

Ingredients - Lavender-infused almond and lavender-infused sunflower oil + Lavendula Angustifolia (lavender organic essential oil). So nothing medicinal at all.
