I covered a sick call last night, so worked 11-7 for OT...Took a nap, then DH and I took our Gracie to the vet. We needed to have a serious talk about treatment and pain control for her. The liberala injections(she had 2) are not helping her. So we are going to try the non steroidal and gabapentin to see if we can manage her pain (she has arthritis in her hips) I had all I could do to hold myself together at that appointment. Grace is a rescue and really is the sweetest girl, we both adore herš¢
Lucy...sorry you had a rough first infusion...{{{hugs}}}
Dinner tonight will be salmon, salad...using my first early girl from the garden!!! and a cuke my neighbor gave me from her garden, also some prickleback slaw she made...so easy peasy dinner

I think I am going to cook foil packet salmon tonight with salad and risotto..
they dug up the sidewalk in front of my house and snagged the internet/cable tv lines.. so when I got home from an errand.. they were out. but they had a nice guy fixing it.. even gave me his card. the guys next door who were working were not happy. did get to meet him (the house next door rents out individual rooms.. lots of turnover). comcast is coming monday to replace the cables.
my big pile of stuff is slowing being put away. not done.. but there is a dent in the pile.
my sil (the one with pancreatic cancer) was in the hospital the last 5 days with an infection. she is home now but weak.. but had to cancel a gathering of her girlfriends in minnesota. I hope to see her in a couple of weeks. she did love the albums I did for her.
I wanted to go to the goodwill but will wait til sat. when I can load and unload in front of my house.
take care everyone dealing with those sucky health issues.

I'm treading lightly into eating beets. I tried roasting them on a salad. Not too bad. They are delicious pickled

I love both red and yellow ones. A local farm makes excellent ones. I know of a local mom with a side hustle who makes them, too. I will eat them any way I can get them.

Good evening! The only way I will eat beets at all is pickled; otherwise I just don't like the flavor. Or the texture, really - but somehow when they're pickled the flavor is good enough to overcome my dislike of the texture...weird, I know. I'm doing a little packing tonight. DH & I went out to get a load of boxes and other packing supplies after work today. I had a salad (with cherry tomatoes from my garden - yay!) and popcorn chicken with a little honey sauce. DH had ground beef stroganoff (which I don't care for). We're trying to use up the frozen foods for when we move in a few weeks... I see lots of rechauffe and <sigh...> frozen dinners in my future. But there's also ice cream to finish off, LOL! lucyg, sorry your treatment started off rough; I hope it smooths out as you go. ((Hugs))

Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts. Itās much appreciated, and I felt 100% better today (Thursday, even though itās Friday now).
As for beets, I love them in all forms: plain, pickled, hot, cold, canned, I donāt care. But what do I know? Iām the chick who wonāt eat avocado.

They are delicious pickled That had been the only way I tried them previously and I disliked them so much that I had sworn off beets. Then I tried roasting them several weeks ago and I liked them that way. I'm not sure beets and I are friends yet.

Beets, to me, taste too earthy. I don't care for them, like eating dirt.
