Good morning.
Today I'm not doing much. Dh is going to finish installing the blinds in my office and then I have to put it back together. I'll be playing my video game and practicing my voice lessons, as well. I might pull out my puzzle instead of gaming. Now I sound like a kid.
Dinner will likely be a new IP chicken recipe and a/f zucchini. Dh found the recipes. What's on your menu?
What are you up to today?
How is everyone doing?
lucyg, I'm thinking of you.
May today bring happiness and ease to everyone.

Happy Thursday!
I'm just waiting for my sisters to pick me up to go to the airport. I'm all packed and ready for my trip!
Dinner tonight will be with good friends and family at our favorite place on the water. One of my good friends lost her husband a few weeks ago so it will be really good to see her.
I'll probably be absent for a few days but hope you all have a great day!

Wait! You're not a kid? I thought you were 29! lucyg I'm really hoping you are taking care of yourself. We all miss you. I went from two meetings today to three. Yuck. First one starting in half hour. Other than a handful of fast moving issues, it's slow. So basically my day has been speed up-slow down-speed up-slow down. Actually, it's more like, get an urgent email, take 15 minutes to respond and then wait a half hour for the next urgent email to come. In the meantime I have a couple of books. Don't tell anyone I'm saying this, but it's slightly chilly in my house today. I debated turning off the air, but this afternoon the temp will be up again and it looks like back in the 80s tomorrow. Sigh. So air stays on. I'm going to make a wedding soup for dinner tonight with white bean balls. I've made it before and Jeremy liked it. So that's what we will have tonight.

Enjoy your trip Tearisci! Gosh, is this week over yet?? No plans yet for dinner! It will most likely be something out. I just haven't felt like cooking in ages. I probably end up cooking one day a week. Not good, but I just don't feel like it. (I sound like a kid too, scrapmaven!)

Wait! You're not a kid? I thought you were 29! I totally am 29. My kids are in their mid/late 20's, but I was a young mom. Ya. That's it.
scrappert, let's be 29 together. We'll have fun.
Tearisci, enjoy every second of your vacation. Have fun and then wake up and have even more fun. I'm looking fwd to hearing about it next week. Enjoy yourself.

I have today off. We are going to run some errands this morning and then I have no big plans. I have a couple house projects I’m working on plus scrapbooking. I am also going to go for a hike in a local state park. The weather today is very fall- I think the high is going to be 64 and it’s cloudy. Good day for a hike in the Forrest actually. I’m making a Thai dish for dinner. Have a good day, everyone.

Good evening scrapmaven - like you, I am having a nothing day today! I wandered down to the store before lunch to pick up a few things needed for dinner and tomorrow’s breakfast. Since lunch, I’ve done some knitting - I have nearly finished a sock for DS, then I just have to make the second one. Tearisci - enjoy your vacation. Our dinner tonight is a new recipe I am trying - black bean burgers. We are trying to add more vegetarian meals to our repertoire and we like burgers, so I decided to give this a try. So far, I can say the mixture smells really good!

Good morning, scrapmaven and you all. Sorry I’ve been so absent. I had a bad reaction to my first chemo treatment on Monday and was kind of out of it for a few days. Feeling much better today. No idea what’s for dinner (there’s things in my fridge I can cook) but sister, mom, and I are having lunch with, get this, my late stepmother’s boyfriend from after my dad died. We love him, and yes, we are nothing if not weird.

paget, enjoy your day. sueg , we can have a peaceful day together. lucyg , I'm sorry to hear that your first treatment was so difficult. I don't think that it's odd at all for you to be friendly w/your stepmother's bf. That you were close w/your stepmom is a really good thing. Have a nice lunch. Gentle ((((HUGS)))), too.

So far, I can say the mixture smells really good! If it turns out well, I'd love the recipe. I made some lentil burgers several weeks ago and I very much enjoyed them. In fact, I made five so I froze some and the frozen ones actually the flavors had more time to meld together. They were better than the fresh. I had a bad reaction to my first chemo treatment on Monday and was kind of out of it for a few days. Feeling much better today. I am sorry to hear this. It's a terrible shame that something that is meant to make us better does so by making us so sick. Hugs.

Hi friends! Today is my Friday because I decided to take tomorrow off in addition to Monday. We're going to our nephew's birthday party on Sunday afternoon. Somehow, he's two today. Not sure how that happened, but it did.
I still have a bit of a sore throat, and a weird new symptom of a slightly painful roof of my mouth. We've been having soup for dinner this week, but it's not so hot that it would burn me, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
Sending all of you good thoughts and well wishes!

Tearisci enjoy your vacation! lucyg sending big hugs! I am sitting at the fairgrounds waiting for one of the DGS's to show a pig in the Mini 4-H show. Then we will be back tonight to watch him participate in the greased watermelon contest. Actually, the mini 4-H kids get to carry canteloupe. Yesterday was a full day watching the two oldest DGS's show their pigs. It has been fair food all week and I am ready for a decent meal.

lucyg - I am sorry to hear of your bad reaction. Sending hugs and prayers that you are feeling better soon. jeremysgirl - I will post the recipe if it’s good. It isn’t vegan, but the only animal product in it is an egg, and it gives a suggestion for an egg replacement. I’d love your recipe for the lentil burgers. I found one online that is next in line to try, but a recommendation is always better than a random selection.

I’d love your recipe for the lentil burgers. I'll take a pic of the cookbook and post it on tomorrow's thread. I have some meetings coming up and I know you're many hours ahead so I'll get it up there tomorrow for you.

jeremysgirl and any others who who might like a good alternative to meat burgers - here is a link to the recipe I made today. It was really good - DH said definitely one to make again. It’s not difficult or time consuming (I used vac-packed beans, canned would also be fine), no more so than making meat burgers from scratch. Black Bean burgers.

Big hugs lucyg . Enjoy your lunch. Our street is being resurfaced so our cars have to be parked on a nearby street. I went shopping and it took me 5 trips back and forth to get everything into the house. On my last trip, the cute guy in the golf cart stops to see if he can give me a lift ~ I was literally in front of my house! Got lots of steps though. A woman on Buy Nothing was giving away 6 sets of packing cubes and I won one. I was amazed at how big the big one is and there are two more to the set. Big score! Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's and corn-on-the-cob.

I had a terrible sleep (or lack of) last night. I was awake at 3 am reading. Not sure hat was happening but I could use a nap now.
I had my biannual mammogram this morning. Hopefully I won’t get a call back.
DH and I just got home from a bike ride. We stopped at the fry truck along the way for lunch.
Supper will be leftover grilled steak and corn on the cob ( the first of the season!)

Today is my Friday because "Wait, isn't it everyone's Friday?" was my first thought reading this. Not sure how or why I thought it was Friday, but days of the week don't mean much these days. DH cut the pumpkins before I was up, so I stuck them in the oven to roast/steam before our world started heating up. I will puree and freeze them later. DH is thrilled to have a whole lot of pumpkins seeds to roast tomorrow morning. While things were roasting, I walked my "easing back into exercise" loop (1 km/.6ish miles) twice and then headed to Trader Joe's for a little stock up when they were done. Again, I don't know why I was thinking today was Friday because I bought what I needed for tomorrow nights Salade Nicoise so we can eat a French menu while watching the Olympic opening ceremony (note to self: find out who is streaming it and what time). I picked up a couple things I needed for tonight's antipasto pasta salad like fennel, spinach and salami. I'll add garden fresh tomatoes and basil along with bocconcini, peppers, olives and Italian sausage. So sorry you had a bad reaction lucyg , but very glad to hear you are up for a lunch out. Hoping they can make adjustments for your next round. stormsts , good luck to your DGS! Are their pigs auctioned off at the fair? The Birdhouse Lady , I keep forgetting to congratulate you on the new title of "grandma". Baby Hudson has a killer smile!

I think dinner tonight will be breakfast on the Blackstone. I spent a good 1/2 hour cleaning my cooktop and all the grates. I don't want to mess it up!!! Besides if a meal is cooked on the Blackstone, I don't have to do it!! Hi lucyg!!! I've been missing you. Sorry you weren't feeling great. Enjoy your lunch today!!

My day didn't really go south. Nothing bad happened. Just everything sped up really fast at the end of the day. It was a lot of meetings intertwined with a lot of emails. And then my very last meeting, just a lot of data/numbers to work out and consider. It was just exhausting. This is just I think normal busy day at work reaction.
