I have to give a shout out to peasquared and all the peas who participate in and organize the encouraging gift given to those of us facing cancer and other health/life challenges! My peas arrived yesterday and, maybe it is the crafter in me, but my favorite touch is the personalized ribbon. I can't thank you enough for this thoughtful gesture. You really are the reasons why this is an amazing community! Looks like trying to quietly slip back into things here isn't easy. I've been fighting stage 4 endometrial cancer. As scary as that sounds, I have been incredibly lucky to have an amazing oncology team, including a gynecologic oncologist at the leading edge of the field, who have been very optimistic about my prognosis from the start. The initial combined chemotherapy/immunotherapy did the job which led to major abdominal surgery, followed by a final couple rounds of c/i. I'll continue immunotherapy for at least another year but am happy to be at the get back to normal and on with my life stage.

That's so wonderful to read, bc2ca!! peasquared is a doll and this package is beyond sweet! In case this gives you hope, my MIL was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and lived 5 years with zero interventions, no dialysis, and died of old age/dementia. You go, girl!

The Peas are fabulous! I treasure my pea-pod, the darling bookmark and the personalised ribbon. Thank you ALL again. bc2ca I'm so sorry you had to join the club that nobody wants to be a member of, but the Peas have your back. I can't remember whether I shared last year or not (I must have?) but on top of the breast cancer in '21 for which my pod was sent, I also had endometrial cancer a year ago. I was very fortunate that it was grade 3 but only stage 1, and they got it all with the surgery so no further treatment was needed. For a few weeks I thought that I was going to have to go through all the chemo etc. again and lose my hair for a second time. It stinks, doesn't it? But keep chugging on, and try to keep that smile in place. Hugs.

I have my own special Peas too! I was diagnosed in December with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, AML, and also had major abdominal surgery for diverticulitis/Ostomy bag and a heart attack four days after that. September 11 my colorectal doctor wants to discuss reversing the Ostomy!
It was so heart warming to receive the package! ❤️
I pray for ALL of the Peas every night and am glad you are doing well!

Your message of thanks and hope gave me the warm fuzzies! The Peas are a wonderful, caring group. I wish you all the best for a continued recovery and am so glad you can carry on with your life with such optimism. That attitude is so inspiring to others who face health problems.
On a lighter note, your little Pea Pod is so cute! Are you going to give them individual names?

I can't remember whether I shared last year or not (I must have?) but on top of the breast cancer in '21 for which my pod was sent, I also had endometrial cancer a year ago. I haven't been on the boards for quite a while and definitely missed this. Although surgery is no fun, I'm glad it did the trick for you. My break from chemo to have surgery was long enough for my hair to start regrowing. I was so hoping it would continue, but lost it all again when chemo resumed. I was diagnosed in December with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, AML, and also had major abdominal surgery for diverticulitis/Ostomy bag and a heart attack four days after that. September 11 my colorectal doctor wants to discuss reversing the Ostomy! You have been through so much more than me. Hoping you get good news in September! On a lighter note, your little Pea Pod is so cute! Are you going to give them individual names? LOL, I'll have to think about this. Thanks for all the well wishes!!
