TFG is just digging a deeper hole about his trip to Arlington. He is now saying he went to 'celebrate' the anniversary of their deaths... Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump defended his campaign's recent trip to Arlington National Cemetary by saying he was there to "celebrate" the anniversary of the deaths of soldiers who died in Afghanistan. During an interview with influencer Lex Fridman that aired on Tuesday, Trump tried to explain why he spent so much time attacking Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. "I think they're nasty," he said. "They came up with a story that I look down, and I call soldiers that died in World War I suckers, and losers, okay... It was a made-up story." "Like she lied on McDonald's," he continued. "She said that she worked at McDonald's. It's not a big lie, but it's a big lie." Trump argued that criticizing him for using Arlington Cemetery in a campaign video was "one of the worst" attacks I went to Arlington at the request of people that lost their children," he explained. "And they asked me if I'd come and celebrate with them three years, three years. They died three years ago." www.rawstory.com/trump-arlington-celebrate/FFS Commemorate the word you want you dementia ridden idiot is commemorate. Of course, however he truly celebrates the suckers and losers and they are all too dense to realize it!!

I cannot with this. DS is stationed at Arlington. It's disgusting. Campaigning is not allowed. However, it's definitely always been a photo op. It's why every foreign leader that visits comes to the tomb. But it is a show of respect at the tomb covered by media. This was so f'ing wrong. Photographing himself among graves. Of people who did not agree to have their child/loved one's grave publicized and used for votes. Not even dealing with the fact that his staff are scumbags that assaulted a cemetary employee.

Yeah, exactly, the tomb of the unknown soldier is totally different - people go there just to see the guard or guard switch. Those remains are usually unknown so you won’t be bothering other families who might still be grieving. The exception: veteransbreakfastclub.org/rescued-from-the-tomb-of-the-unknown-the-saga-of-vietnam-kia-lt-michael-blassie/Poor record keeping and transport created an error & a controversial person ‘solved’ it and the unknown was Identified & brought home. ( figures Reagan made the mistake to ‘look good’ to the nation. )

I heard this last night.. there was an interview where he said it .. In fact, writes Godfrey, Trump's statement was so unusual that she felt the need to "look around in confusion at the people near me in the audience" to see if they understood what he meant. The Trump statement in question seemed to suggest that public schools were essentially forcing students to undergo gender reassignment surgery without getting permission from their parents. “The transgender thing is incredible,” he said. “Think of it; your kid goes to school, and he comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s going to happen with your child.”Godfrey proceeded to inform readers everything that's wrong with Trump's claim about schools forcing children to undergo sex changes. "Schools are not providing sex-change operations to students," she writes. "Even from a purely financial perspective, that seems obvious: Teachers still have to buy their own crayons; schools aren’t shelling out for surgeons. Second, educators are not deciding 'what’s going to happen' with students, beyond subjecting them to a pop quiz or an in-school suspension." Godfrey went on to add that Trump's statement was "a dangerous, unstable dog whistle to the QAnon followers in his party, who have long argued that Democrats are sexualizing children." www.rawstory.com/trump-transgender-2669128779/

The prosecutor went on to emphasize that the Trump-incited January 6th riots at the United States Capitol were "an unprecedented disruption of government’s most sacred freedoms" and warned that "it must not be treated as ‘just another crime.'"

Something to ponder…. I would think the double whammy of slapping tariffs on all imports and a mass deportation would push this country into a recession if not a depression. Kyle Griffin… ”A new Goldman Sachs economic forecast predicts a Trump presidency, even with a divided Congress, would damage U.S. gross domestic product due to his radical tariff and immigration plans. Democratic control of Washington, on the other hand, would narrowly boost GDP.” x.com/kylegriffin1/status/1831371676053016810?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Ginni Thomas is at it again... Put it in an email too.. Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, privately heaped praise on a major religious-rights group for fighting efforts to reform the nation’s highest court — efforts sparked, in large part, by her husband’s ethical lapses. Thomas expressed her appreciation in an email sent to Kelly Shackelford, an influential litigator whose clients have won cases at the Supreme Court. Shackelford runs the First Liberty Institute, a $25 million-a-year organization that describes itself as “the largest legal organization in the nation dedicated exclusively to defending religious liberty for all Americans.” Shackelford read Thomas’ email aloud on a July 31 private call with his group’s top donors. Thomas wrote that First Liberty’s opposition to court-reform proposals gave a boost to certain judges. According to Shackelford, Thomas wrote in all caps: “YOU GUYS HAVE FILLED THE SAILS OF MANY JUDGES. CAN I JUST TELL YOU, THANK YOU SO, SO, SO MUCH.”Shackelford said he saw Thomas’ support as evidence that judges, who “can’t go out into the political sphere and fight,” were thankful for First Liberty’s work to block Supreme Court reform. “It’s neat that, you know, those of you on the call are a part of protecting the future of our court, and they really appreciate it,” he said. On the same call, Shackelford attacked Justice Elena Kagan as “treasonous” and “disloyal” after she endorsed an enforcement mechanism for the court’s newly adopted ethics code in a recent public appearance. He said that such an ethics code would “destroy the independence of the judiciary.” (This past weekend, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said she too was open to an enforceable ethics code for the Supreme Court.) This is not the first time that a spouse of a Supreme Court justice injected themselves into controversial political matters. Ginni Thomas sent dozens of messages after the 2020 election that echoed then-President Donald Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud. In messages to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, Thomas said “Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History” and urged Trump to not concede the election. In emails to Arizona and Wisconsin lawmakers, she pleaded with them to fight back against supposed fraud and send a “clean slate of Electors.” She later wrote, “The nation’s eyes are on you now. … Please consider what will happen to the nation we all love if you do not stand up and lead.” (Thomas said in 2022 she regretted sending the inflammatory messages to Meadows.) Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of Justice Samuel Alito, faced scrutiny for flying an upside-down American flag at the family’s Virginia home — a symbol used by the Stop the Steal movement that claimed the 2020 election had been stolen from Trump. The flag flew outside the Alito home as the Supreme Court was deciding whether to hear a case related to the 2020 election. .... *** Thomas and Alito have said they weren’t required to disclose free flights or hospitality from friends. www.rawstory.com/thomas-supreme-court-reform/

This is how a gun freak views a shooting and those wounded. The fact that these kids had to flee for their lives from a guy with a gun shooting people and some are injured while fleeing is no big deal. This reply nailed it! “Oh not all gun related injuries, Mike? Oh, that's okay then.” Rep. Mike Collins… ”Very sad to confirm there have been four fatalities from the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, GA. Many others wounded, but not all gun-related or life-threatening injuries, some from efforts to flee danger. The suspect is in custody.” Ron Filipkowski ”He actually made it a point to include that not all the injuries suffered in the mass school shooting in his district were “gun-related.” He wants you to know that since he is a radical right-wing nut who is against ALL gun laws. x.com/ronfilipkowski/status/1831401398338253194?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

In the indictment presented by Garland against Russia.. We have heard all those talking points listed in the tweet. ALL of them!! A new indictment is revealing Russian talking points that one former FBI special agent said look suspiciously similar to Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH).On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced two employees of Russian state-controlled media funneled nearly $10 million to promoting Russian propaganda, some of which by right-wing influencers. *** The second section reads, "Target audience of the campaign." It lists "U.S. political party A voters," and "Candidate A supporters." "Interesting how the 'Campaign Topics' exactly mirror J.D. Vance’s campaign talking points," said ex-FBI special agent Asha Rangappa on X. x.com/ryanjreilly/status/1831389030153646096www.rawstory.com/jd-vance-russia-2669129989/

TFG and his campaign is complaining that four busses are arriving for Harris/Walz rallies. Massachusetts is only an hour or two away.. But TFG has people driving much farther for his rallies all over the country.
As often as I forget that the States to the west of us are much much bigger, they forget that I can drive to NY, CT, MA, PA, MD, DE in 2-3 hours. We are little states over here!! ***
Former President Donald Trump's team is attacking Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign event in New Hampshire with claims that out-of-state agitators are being "bussed" in to pad her numbers — and one political reporter believes it's not a good sign for Trump's confidence about competing there.

The orange menace told a bunch of other falsehoods about NH today. The DNC changed the order of the primaries, but Republicans control our state house and control the date of the primary. Republicans decided not to change it. It's also in our state constitution that we will be the first primary. Housing prices are unaffordable, but they're unaffordable across the country, not just here in NH. Our heating costs are also high, but no higher than other northern states. apnews.com/article/harris-new-hampshire-economy-campaign-6dce74635a82647c44f8d6446ebffd17Some of the state’s Democrats were angry that Biden directed the Democratic National Committee to make South Carolina the first state to vote in the party’s presidential primary this year — displacing Iowa’s caucus and a first-in-the-nation primary New Hampshire held for more than a century.
Despite that, New Hampshire pressed ahead with an unsanctioned primary. Though Biden didn’t campaign in it, or appear on the ballot, he still easily won via a write-in drive.
Trump has seized on the primary calendar change, posting on his social media account that Harris “sees there are problems for her campaign in New Hampshire because of the fact that they disrespected it in their primary and never showed up.”
“Additionally, the cost of living in New Hampshire is through the roof, their energy bills are some of highest in the country, and their housing market is the most unaffordable in history,” the former president wrote.
eta - And I think this is another reason why the former guy is complaining about buses and spreading falsehoods about NH heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/september-3-2024Last night the Boston Globe published a leaked email from a top volunteer with the Trump campaign, former Massachusetts Republican Party vice chair Tom Mountain, telling volunteers that the Trump campaign “no longer thinks New Hampshire is winnable” and is “pulling back” from that important swing state. He urged volunteers to turn their attention instead to Pennsylvania. After the story dropped, the Trump campaign cut ties with Mountain.
Stephen Collinson of CNN and Isaac Arnsdorf, Josh Dawsey, and Marianne LeVine of the Washington Post reported today that Trump’s team has given up on trying to get Trump to talk about the economy and other issues voters care about. The former president has decided to spend the rest of the campaign attacking Vice President Harris to destroy her popularity and drive voters away from her, rather than trying to attract them to himself. The Washington Post reporters noted that likely voters view Trump unfavorably and his team has concluded that while he can’t improve his own standing, he can damage hers.
Collinson dubbed Trump’s plans a “feral political offensive.”

Rick Scott And about a previous job . Swindling the Medicare system... Steve Benen earlier this year wrote, “Before becoming a far-right politician, Scott led a company called Columbia/HCA, which faced a federal fraud investigation over Medicare. As the FBI’s investigation advanced, Scott resigned as CEO, though he nevertheless faced considerable scrutiny — including an infamous civil deposition in which the Republican asserted his Fifth Amendment rights 75 times.”“Scott’s former company ultimately pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and was fined $1.7 billion. It was, at the time, the biggest Medicare fraud case in American history,” according to Benen. “Though the article is no longer online, The Miami Herald reported in 2010 that federal investigators ‘found that Scott took part in business practices at Columbia/HCA that were later found to be illegal — specifically, that Scott and other executives offered financial incentives to doctors in exchange for patient referrals, in violation of federal law, according to lawsuits the Justice Department filed against the company in 2001.'” www.rawstory.com/rick-scott-2669131516/
