Lets see they don't want people to retire until they are at least 70 but they are supposed to be able to provide day care for their grandchildren? How is that supposed to work LOL. My MIL was still working when I had my son so there was no family to care for him (my family is dead). Many families don't live in the same city - as their parents. There are just so many things wrong with this. Also it sounds like they want to reduce the licensed daycares or take away most of the requirements. Those requirements are there for a reason. They are for the safety of the babies and children. I have a friend that runs an in home licensed day care - it is a lot of work and there are a lot of hoops but again they are for the safety of the children. I think most people would have to know this.

How many would trust Musk with their money? I certainly wouldn't want him handling out countries money. How much is X worth now? How much did the banks that lent that money lose? How many of those Tesla trucks are just sitting in lots waiting to be sold? No one knows what is going on behind closed doors but after the offer to the oil companies I bet many of us are thinking there will be a lot of money coming Musk's way. He doesn't work cheap - how many billions would this great idea cost.

What is it with these people? Did they get dropped on their head when they were babies? After having and raising eight of her own kids, my mom had very little interest in babysitting her grandkids (FTR, I was eight years old when the first one was born). By the time I had my kid, she was already afflicted with Alzheimer’s and couldn’t even take care of herself. MIL was battling cancer for the umpteenth time and was also not an option for multiple reasons. And I totally agree with you RE: regulations for daycare.

I think most people would have to know this. Doing away with daycare licenses would be a spectacularly bad idea. Sure, it would be cheaper. But it would affect the way that your kid eats, how much he eats, how long he is allowed to be sat in a chair, etc. People used to strap unruly kids into a chair or shut them in a bathroom. Most parents would not like that. Some regulation is needed. And if there was no regulation, it might affect who was hired to work at the daycare. Food for thought.

TFG surrounded by the best!! Seemingly without a hint of irony, Karoline Leavitt — who is former President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign spokesperson — recently said that defendants found guilty by a jury of their peers should be incarcerated.Leavitt's remark was in response to a New York Times story about a man who received clemency from Trump after spending nearly three decades in jail following a 1993 murder conviction. The defendant, Jaime A. Davidson, got his pardon during the former president's lame-duck period in early 2021 just before he left the White House. This statement prompted some head-scratching from the Independent's Greg Graziosi, who pointed out that Trump himself was convicted on 34 felony counts in Manhattan in May of this year. He noted that Leavitt's boss has not yet spent any time behind bars despite his own convictions, and is actively working to prevent any sentence from being imposed. www.rawstory.com/karoline-leavitt-2669137947/

He's not an idiot. Obviously, I disagree with his politics. I'm not a fan and never voted for him. However, if you take out that stupid statement about Trump and the details, Sununu is right about everything else he said in the minute and a half clip. He's talking about the small group, 8-10% of voters that can be persuaded. They're looking for a change, they have a lot of financial worries. They're worried about paying rent or a mortgage, grocery bills, heating bills etc. The high cost of living is something that people face every single day, multiple times a day. Financial worries are on people's minds and will be in November when they vote. Sununu is a lot of things, he's ambitious, he has presidential aspirations, but he's not stupid. You don't get elected as governor 4 times with really high approval ratings if you’re lacking in intelligence. He has a bachelors degree in civil and environmental engineering from MIT.

Ok so Vance says that school shootings are just a fact of life and then starts talking about the door to keep the bad people out. Students come through these doors or gates. In most cases it’s a student that shoots up a school so what good would a door do? Schools around here the gates get locked once school starts and you have to walk through the reception area but this wouldn’t stop anyone really determined to get into the campus. It’s been this way on all the campuses around here.
So again a kid can just walk into campus. If they are the shooter they again can just walk in. None of the schools around here have metal detectors. They have a campus police officer but the campus is large and unless the student starts shooting right in front of the officer they could kill a lot of kids before the officer gets across campus even if he had a golf cart to help get there faster.
How many good guys with a gun turn into a bad guy. They are usually good before they become mass murderers.

Interesting... Warton says TFG numbers are way high!! Even Trump’s alma mater says his economic plan is a disasterUpdated: Aug. 28, 2024, 9:33 a.m.|Published: Aug. 28, 2024, 9:22 a.m. By Matt Arco | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com The economic proposals Kamala Harris has backed would add more than $1 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade, according to a new nonpartisan analysis. That pales in comparison to the $5.8 trillion increase in the deficit under Donald Trump’s proposals, according to a study from his alma mater, Penn Wharton.*** But the Harris report found that raising the corporate tax rate to 28% from its current level of 21%, as the vice president has floated, could partially offset the costs of her spending by $1.1 trillion. www.nj.com/politics/2024/08/even-trumps-alma-mater-says-his-economic-plan-is-a-disaster.html

Well at least one person has taken personal responsibility. Hunter Biden has plead guilty to his tax charges. Now if jail time is served remains to be seen. Not only the tax issue but he also took the hit with the gun charges. And I truly believe if he was not a Biden, he would never have seen the inside of a court room. I personally know people who have not filed taxes for 10 years in one case and 5 years in another. Neither of them had to go to court. They got to file and work out plans.
But I guess it would be too much for another party to take on any sort of personal responsibility.

Aaron Black… ”🚨 Some take aways from the jobs report this morning: ✅ Unemployment fell to 4.2%. ✅ Wage growth, an important measure for gauging inflation pressures, rose to 3.8% year over year, up from a 3.6% annual gain in July. ✅ The jobs report indicates positive job growth for 44 consecutive months, putting the current streak in 5th place of the longest job streaks in US history. ✅ The US has added a remarkable 15.9 million jobs since President Biden and Vice President Harris took office in 2021. in spite of what many of the so called experts are saying (they are totally full of shit.) we have made historic progress and Democrats continue to drive the ball down the field and lead the way in job creation. 🚨 And some contrast to think about: ❌ Trump and his MAGA Republican enablers in Congress are on a losing streak. They have accomplished absolutely nothing with their majority in Congress and they are still trying to shut down the government to score political points with their base; ignoring the needs of America’s working families. ❌ Trump is the first President to lose jobs since Herbert Hoover did that almost 100 years ago. He is only the second President in our nations history to be in the net loss column for jobs when he left office.” x.com/ablackpolitical/status/1832115701508927992?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Liz Cheney speaks again... Dick Cheney will be voting for Kamala Harris," the former Wyoming representative said at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin. *** Dick Cheney criticized Trump while campaigning for his daughter in her unsuccessful 2022 reelection campaign. “In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney said. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He is a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters. He lost his election, and he lost big. I know it. He knows it, and deep down, I think most Republicans know.” www.rawstory.com/liz-cheney-trump-2669142467/

We have been put on notice…..
”CEASE & DESIST: I, together with many Attorneys and Legal Scholars, am watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely because I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that has taken place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election. It was a Disgrace to our Nation! Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again. We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation, AND WE WON’T! Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country.
