Good morning.
Dh and I have had a teeny little something. So, we haven't really done much the past couple of days.
Dinner might be rechauffe. I'll see how dh feels later. Ods was gonna stop by, but I warned him to stay away for another day or two.
What's on your menu?
lucyg , how are you feeling today?
What are you up to this weekend?
Dh is going to finish priming and painting window trim and then I really can put my office back together.
Wishing everyone who is suffering or who has loved ones who are struggling a calm, healing and peaceful weekend.
May this weekend be relaxing, restful and calm for all!

I have stayed home this week from the gym and I miss aqua class too!!! I don't want to get covid.
I have leftover salmon, and risotto, and will get some more salad for today. sort of foggy today. I do have to go to the store and hope I can find parking afterwards.
I have given up on goodwill today.. will do it tomorrow when I can access my garage. comcast is coming on monday to install a new cable line into my house after they messed up the lines into the control box in the sidewalk outside my house.

I was up bright and early this morning to get to DS’s house before DDIL left for work. I’m spending the day with grandboy #2. Grandboy # 1 is at his other grandparents house and grandboy #3 is at daycare. DS got called into work late last night so my babysitting services was a last minute thing.
I need to pop by the vet office to pick up a heartworm pill for Walker, then we might go for ice cream.
Not sure about supper tonight. The corn on the con last night was delicious.

Happy Friday! Today we had a lunch for all the carers from our afterschool care group. The daughter of one carer is in our ‘graduating’ group and she wanted to do this. We met straight after the school end of year events and so her dad came too. We met at a really good Indian restaurant,. right near the underground stop nearest the school. I’ve never been there before but would definitely go back. Best of all - their serves were more than I could eat, so either DH or I have lunch tomorrow m.
I went via the city market on the way home, to buy fish for dinner. DH will make beer batter when he gets home, so I can just chill for a bit. After dinner, it will be Olympic Opening Ceremony time.
I am going into hibernation before my surgery from this weekend, so my weekend will consist of lots of Olympic sports and knitting. It’s nice being in the same time zone as the games this time around.

Happy Friday!
Today is a quiet day after being at the fair all week. I just got back from a 2 mile walk. I need to do some laundry. I want to finish a book and then maybe I will scrapbook some.
Dinner is going to be pork chops on the grill and probably the last of the corn on the cob for the season.

Dh and I have had a teeny little something. So, we haven't really done much the past couple of days. Oh no! Feel better. What are you up to this weekend? Absolutely nothing. Jeremy was trying to talk me into going back to Ludington. I'm game but we need a dog sitter. We don't have one. So home it is. I've got lots of books to read. I am going into hibernation before my surgery from this weekend, so my weekend will consist of lots of Olympic sports and knitting. It’s nice being in the same time zone as the games this time around. Happy hibernating. Keep yourself safe from Covid. I hope lucyg is feeling even better today. And I'd love an update from **GypsyGirl** too. I just got back from a trip to Rite Aid and Joann's. Rite Aid, the entire chain, is going out of business. I admit that scrapmaven inspired me to also have turquoise toes. So I specifically went in there to get nail polish. Hahaha...all cosmetics were 70% off. So I bought three. And I found a Reader's Digest guide to plant based eating. Huge book. Reg price $20. I got it for $6. Even just a couple of good recipes will be worth the cost. Then I went to JoAnn's. To look at Halloween decorations again. I spent $100. On more Halloween decorations. Just what I needed right? I'm hiding some of them from Jeremy. He doesn't give one rip about the money. It's the fact that we already have so many decorations. I'll hear about it forever. Besides, I'll go back next week and pick up a few more things too. And so I'd rather get his look of disapproval once instead of week after week. LOL! Anybody been to Michaels lately and can speak to their Halloween decorations? It's all the way across town and so I don't go there as often. I ended up making flautas last night. So I'm just about to put some in the oven right now for lunch. It is quick and easy recipe. They also are very satisfying mentally. You know how some dinners just you feel more satisfied after eating them than others? Yeah that is this meal. I could make that white bean ball soup for dinner. Let's see what Jeremy says.

I never responded to the Beets discussion. That'd be a noooooooo. My mother loved them.
What about cabbage and brussel sprouts? I love cabbage, but I cannot stand brussel sprouts.

How many times a week do you go on average? I'm aiming for 3-4 times a week. Today we did our weights without touching our feet to the bottom of the pool.

SO is supposed to work tomorrow, so I am hoping to get into my craft area and organize it a bit better and put away some things that I just bought some organizing pouches for. Then we may take a little get away for the night. That is still up in the air. DD should be home today and she can take care of the animals (she was spending the week at her grandma's with her sister and cousins). We have yet to have corn on the cob this year! stormsts Cabbage yes, brussel sprouts if they are pickled. I did have some fancy cooked brussel sprouts once that were pretty good, but that was it. Happy Birthday Judy26!!

Then we may take a little get away for the night. That is still up in the air. Do it! You deserve it after all this hard work on your bathroom. I've never had one but does anyone else giggle like a 12-year-old boy when you read this? I am just not getting what is funny. Please tell me so I watch what I say to whom.

the gym has aqua fit 3 days a week.. I usually do two days. (skip saturday) and then do low impact conditioning 2 days a week. and after this summer, will try to add in some weights or more time on our rowing machine. it is very hard to find mid day aqua classes in SF.. I drive cross town to go to the fillmore.

Feeling fine today, thanks. Hope Mr. and Mrs. scrapmaven start feeling better. Dinner might be this pasta dish with heirloom tomatoes, sausage, and rigatoni. I will drown it in mozzarella for good measure. I love cabbage and Brussels sprouts. All cruciferous vegetables. I don’t get what’s funny about making flautas, either. 🤔

I am just not getting what is funny. Please tell me so I watch what I say to whom. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be mean but I see the word flatulence when I read flautas. You don't need to watch what you say. We love what you say!

I boiled the potatoes and blanched the green beans already so just need to grill the tuna and assemble (with boiled eggs, tomatoes, olives, butter lettuce) our Salade Nicoise to eat as we enjoy the opening Olympic opening ceremony tonight. DD works next door to my favorite bakery so I'll get her to pick up a baguette to go with it all. If I'm inspired, I might make an olive tapenade, too. Our olive trees gave us a bumper crop last year and this has become my favorite way to use them. Hope a day of rest knocks out whatever is hitting you, scrapmaven . I love almost all vegetables, so say yes to beets, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Just not boiled to a waterlogged limp mess. Raw, roasted, pickled, sauteed all get a big yes. Hope baby snuggles are part of your birthday celebration, Judy26 . I walked the neighborhood again today and hope to get to the beach tomorrow. It is cooler and much flatter so I will definitely go further. Yesterday's pasta salad was delicious.

Grandboy #2 and I just cleaned his room. It was a nightmare with toys all over the floor and Lego everywhere. He wasn’t very happy when we started but then he started getting into it when he kept finding things that he had lost, like under the bed and the dresser! The room looks great and now I’m giving him some screen time.

I love brussel sprouts roasted with the beets and baby carrots 😊
Dinner is out tonight as DH has a generous GC from his brother, we are going to Legal C ...part of the Legal Seafood family. So something fishy for sure!!
Lucyg, Glad you are feeling fine. Scrapmavens...Hope you are both feeling better soon!

Hi all! I had my follow up appointment this morning. Doctor said ear looked a little dull, but no infection (yay!). I did mention that I'd developed a little bit of a cough (including a few times where it sounded like I was a multi pack a day smoker), but she said that probably means whatever was ailing me is on its way out. I certainly hope it is. I'm sick of being sick so much lately! She also reminded me to use some Flonase in addition to my daily allergy pill. I asked about the glucose level and she said it was probably just the breakfast going through me super fast and not to worry about it. After that, I went to Michael's (they had a few things, jeremysgirl, but nothing I had to have apart from what I went in for), Aldi, and Costco. Spent the better part of the afternoon putting cross stitch thread on bobbins and now watching Forensic Files and stitching. We are going to our nephew's birthday party on Sunday. Not sure what else we will do. For the cabbage and brussel sprouts question: I love roasted brussel sprouts (or with garlic and butter), and love cabbage if it's in haluski. 😋

Thank you ladies for your well wishes. This really is so teeny. Dh is already feeling better. scrappert , I hope you'll go somewhere and enjoy it, tremendously. jeremysgirl , how I wish you could back to Ludington this weekend. I would gladly watch your furry family, so that you could go. If nothing else, please do something that you truly enjoy. DH and I have vastly different hobbies, but when we get away it's always fun. rymeswithpurple , I'm crossing my fingers that you will finally feel fine. This has dragged on so long. taylortroop , it's all fun and games until someone steps on a Lego.

Things seem to be looking up. Still slow going but things are getting better! Yesterday they surprised us by redoing the breathing tests and he passed!!! So the tube was removed and now he is just on the nose canulla. He is still in ICU right now because he is on a IV insulin drip due to the high doses of steroids they currently have him on. In the next couple of days they should start stepping those down and then he'll be moved to a regular floor. He's looking forward to that because he'll get more physical therapy at that point. Right now they are mainly working on strengthening the diaphragm muscles. I think once he is out of ICU and doing more PT he is going to be in much better spirits. We are hopeful that will happen the first of next week. His voice is much stronger now, but he really doesn't remember a lot of the past 3 weeks. Doesn't remember calling 911, calling me to come get him at work and take him back to the ICU. Apparently he doesn't remember asking me to hire an ambulance to take us to Vegas either (and neither of us cares for Vegas). Fun times! Gotta look for the humor or you'll go nuts. I ended up making flautas last night. So I'm just about to put some in the oven right now for lunch. You put your flautas in the oven??? Do they get very crispy? I love a good flauta but hate the frying so save them for when we eat out.

They aren't as good. But they hit the spot. I have baked chimichangas too. It's not the real thing but it's healthier.
