I know know, it’s them that got the lyrics wrong, right? lol 😉
Today I found out the song with the lyrics: “Free your mind, and the rest will follow”
Wasn’t: “Free your mind and rectify love” 😂
Maybe I’ll call the record company to rectify that one for them 😋
Any songs you recently found out the lyrics were “wrong” to?

"I'm not talking 'bout forever moving in And I don't want to change your life, But there's a warm wind blowin and the stars are out And I'd really love to see you tonight"
I think forever makes more sense for a booty call.
I was at a Hall & Oats concert (yeah, I'm that old!) and the gal next to me kept singing "Your kiss is on my lips". If you're singing at a concert, please, know the correct lyrics. It's LIST!
(Edited to correct a misspelling, Yikes!)

Yeah, I thought Queen’s big disgrace was big disc brakes for a long time! Also from REO Speedwagon’s Take it on the Run, I thought “keep this in mind” was keep kissin’ mine! And yeah! I sang ‘‘em loud and clear!

I always thought it was but there’s a warm wind blowing the stars around. Which admittedly doesn’t make much sense.

The REO Speedwagon song Can't Fight This Feeling: the lyric is "on a cold dark winter's night". It always sounded to me like he was singing "and a corndog in the night", which I knew wasn't right, but since I hated that band, it amused me to sing that lyric.

When I was younger, I thought the words to the Beach Boys' A Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba, Barbara Ann were A Bob, Bob, Bob Bob, Bob Bob Aran. Like there is a guy named Bob Aran. Also, The Young Rascals Groovin' 3rd verse: We'll keep on spending sunny days this way We're gonna talk and laugh our time away I feel it coming closer day by day Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly I thought the last line was Life would be ecstasy, you and me and Leslie. Whoever Leslie was.

I can't think of any for myself, but I remember it took the dawn of MP3s & earbuds and the world wide web to print off lyrics to finally convince my mother that California Dreamin' lyrics are: "Stopped into a church, I passed along the way Well, I got down on my knees, and I PRETEND to pray." and not "I BEGIN to pray" Only I think she possibly didn't like the song as much after that. Oops. And, we may have ruined Come On Eileen for her with the actual lyrics as well. Hmm, basically we're awful children.

My grandmother used to take me to her Presbyterian Church and the hymns were different from our Catholic hymns. I thought one was about a bear named Gladly with eye problems....Gladly the Cross I'd Bear. This guy is hilarious. Misheard Lyrics | Peter Kay

Billy Ocean's Carribean Queen, is Caribbean Queen Now we're sharing the same dream And our hearts they beat as one No more love on the run...
I sing it "Marry me quick, now we're sharing the same drink..." I think mine make more sense! LOL

I've had this book for almost 30 years. It isn't one that I would normally save, but it made me realize some of the lyrics I had been singing for years were wrong. "Makin' carrot biscuits, every day" for taking care of business BTO.

My parents and I were discussing this last time I went to visit them. Their favorite of the ones I remember reading about is "hold me closer, Tony Danza" (sorry, Elton!).

“four hungry children and a crop in the field “ I totally thought it was four hundred children. Same! haha My little sister's middle name is Lucille, and we used to sing it this way to her. She was horrified at the thought of four hundred children. She seemed much more okay with hungry children when we were corrected on the lyrics.

And I'm still not sure the lyrics are right. 🤣

AussieMeg- I absolutely love that show. My fave segment is when contestants have to sing using lyrics from a magazine and others have to guess the song from the rhythm and the tune. I was always impressed by the opera singer they had on because she nailed it every time.Funny to hear pop songs with lyrics from “Caravan Monthly”magazine or “Golfers World”🤣🤣🤣

You know she's Adam Hills' wife?
