My son went to Iceland in July 2022 and brought me back home this silly looking sheep made with REAL wool. He had a wooden "tree trunk" body (that shape anyway). I'd show you a pic but it's smithereens right now. My a$$hole dogs just ate it when I was out on a walk! I am too upset to Ebay or Google right now. I want to replace it. I am annoyed at myself for not putting it on a different shelf but, too late. I happen to take this pic the night he gave it to me Ironically, I had put it in the basement the last time we were away for the weekend but my dogs have left the ladder shelf alone since so I thought it was safe to put back. p.s. He brought me home a hand-carved wooden monkey statue from Africa this May. Its kind of like this 'thing'.

Can you ask your son what town or store he got it from?

Can you ask your son what town or store he got it from? I just visited him at work (Starbucks!) and he said "I paid $85 for that!" lol He got it in a small gift shop by a volcano he went to. I have to ask for more details.

snyder Thanks for the help! When I initially typed this out I was even going to joke and ask if he was a sheep... RAM! I Googled for "rams are made with wool from Saudarkrokur and hand-cut birch from Borgarfjordur." from the pic you described and found him! The Euro for the medium-sized one translates to $85 which is exactly how much he said it cost. I spent a tiny fortune getting him to me, and my dogs are still on my sh!t list tonight, but he will be added to the HIGH corner shelf with his carved wooden African monkey friend when he arrives, well out of reach of dog snouts. FOUND HIM HERE!

I found another one! This site tells who the creators are; The designers are a mother/daughter duo who go by the name of Birch and Wool.
It is #8

Okay, I just keep getting closer!
This is a shop. Not sure what shipping would be though or if they ship to USA.
ETA: They do ship to the USA. Large is 93 euros and 29 euros for shipping. So it would be about $135. Medium is 63 euros and 29 euros for shipping. So it would be about $100

Glad to hear you have found a replacement
Reminds me of a story where beanie hats were being sold with faux wool pompoms on the top. Family dog tore a hat and pompom to shreads, turned out the pompom was made from real rabbit fur (and skin, if I remember correctly) and was not fake.
Maybe dogs think they are being protective by dealing with the smell of another animal?

That looks like a massacre! I am glad you found a replacement!!!! This reminds me of when I was getting married, a friend made me a binder. It was so sweet of her. I had it on the floor of my bedroom and my mom's dog got sick on it! It was completely ruined. I ended up making a new one but it wasn't quite the same.

My mom lost a similar critter from Ireland to our family cat.
So glad you're able to replace him!

They really took care of him. Glad you found a replacement. So the backstory on these lovely hell hounds I live with (I kid, I kid...) I rescued one in April and his "big twin" brother (same coloring) in May when he was going to be sent back to boarding. They are the cutest beagle-hound mixes who were strays in SC (I am in NY) so I always say "They are trying their best!" lol My dog passed in April and these guys make me laugh! But yes, they have their moments of being unruly jerks. I started an Instagram for them because their antics are so silly. A few show the massacres they have left behind. lol. I will link the account - not sure I can embed exact videos here. Follow Henry & Merle and their shenanigans! crimes my dogs have committed:

Once again the Peas come to the rescue.
I really thought this might be one tourist gift that we were not able to get replaced.

gina . Your dogs are so funny! I am sure they are a handful and more. What is funny is that in your orig post you called them A-holes and my first thought was they probably thought the same of you for going for a walk without them and decided to show you how much. Now that I have seen them in action, I am sure of it! lol ETA: Thank you for saving the both of them.
