My fit bit is dying and I was going to replace it with another. I was looking at the Versa. I currently have the Luxe (I don't think they make those any more). However then I started looking at Smart watches. We have Pixel phones so was looking at the Pixel Watch or Galaxy.
Anyone want to share what they have and what they like about it (Fit Bit or Smart watch)
Thanks!

I've had two versa quit working in less than three years. I'm over Fitbit. I've been without a fitness watch for a while. I've decided to order a new one. I'm going with Garmin Vivo active 5. I'm like 95% sure that's what I want.

I have an android phone. While I have had Fitbits and none of them just stopped, I did make the switch to the Samsung Active watch several years ago.
I like seeing the notifications, being able to talk to someone without having my phone on me, listening to music or a book outside without having to take my phone out. All the health notifications.
I know Versa did some of those things. But the ease of pairing, upgraded health items, the ability to use it to pay pushed me to the smart watch.

Dh went from Fit Bit to a Samsung Galaxy 2 years ago. He loves it. He especially loves being able to get texts and answer calls on it without needing to grab his phone.

I am on my second Galaxy watch. I went from a 2 to a 6. The 2 lasted me over 4 years. I've only had the 6 for a couple months and it's great! I love being able to check my texts and see my sleep schedule.

I was a Fitbit user since around 2010, my dh shortly thereafter. After my last Fitbit Smart watch started not working so great. I decided to take the plunge to an Apple Watch because I was an iPhone user. Just a couple months ago after my husband‘s current Fitbit Smart watch was starting to need charged everyday . He decided to go to a Google pixel watch because he has a Google pixel phone, he loves his watch. I believe Google owns Fitbit now. I think if you’re thinking of stepping away from Fitbit that you should get something that matches your phone in my opinion.

I love my Galaxy watch. It's perfect in every way. I get an alert for calls and texts (and can do those things on it too, but I prefer to just grab my phone). I can see what time it is easily in the dark at work, can set alerts and alarms, it does my step count, it can count calories burned during workouts, it can do a quick EKG, check my pulse ox, find my phone (and my phone can find it), etc. So many reasons to love it. DH has an apple watch, he likes his a lot too. We have different phones, hence, the different watches.
I don't sleep with it on though, I don't care about the sleep tracker.

I love my Apple Watch but I have an iPhone. I’m sure if you have Android their watch versions would be just as convenient.
I love the activity tracking, being able to see if a call or text is something I need to pull out my phone for now, being able to listen to audio books while exercising or doing chores without keeping my phone with me, and lately I’ve been using the Strong app to manage workouts at the gym phone-free.

I wore Fitbits for several years. My Versa 2 was on it’s last legs and I bought the most basic Apple Watch during Prime Days. It’s a little bit of a mindset change to go from keeping track of steps to closing rings. I have no regrets. My favorite thing about it so far is how it connects quickly to my Peloton bike to be used as my heart rate monitor. My least favorite thing is that you have to charge it daily. If you use an iPhone you might want to look into that.

You guys do know that starting with Versa 3, you can talk on your phone through your watch, right? I have the Versa 3 and it does all of that. I was thinking of getting the pixel watch but I just can't justify the cost. I buy the pepples only on Ebay and then buy the charger and the bands separately. It is a lot cheaper.

DH and I have Pixel phones and watches, him the 2 and me the og. The Pixel 3 watch is coming soon.
I found that the Pixel watch connected better and just worked very seamlessly with my phone, but I have to charge it everyday. DH says the Pixel 2 watch has a better battery life but still not as long as a Fitbit I had (DS has it now). The Pixel 3 watch is supposed to have longer battery life.

I love my Versa 4. When I got it I was thinking I wanted an Apple watch, but didn't want to pay that much. Then when I heard you had to charge more frequently I was out. I dont even use all the bells and whistles on my Versa so it is plenty for me. And I get cute bands off Amazon.

IIRC, they came out with all of that after I had already switched over to the Samsung watch. I did love the look of my Versa. I found mine in a drawer not too long ago. Charged it and it was actually working again. Now how long it was keeping a charge and all that, who knows. I was thinking it might be nice for DH to dip his toes into "smart/fitness" watch territory but he said he wouldn't wear it. So back into the drawer it went.

Yes, my last one did that. The text option which I did not have on because how damn annoying. But neither of my Versas had a long life. And I didn't even get them wet. I won't have another fitbit again. And I gave them a chance, twice.

Don’t get another Fitbit. Google is killing it off since it’s a direct competitor with their Pixel.
I love my charge 5 but when it dies I’ll likely get an Apple Watch or garmin. I hate that they’re so expensive but I’ve gotten used to the monitoring and will miss that if I go back to my stainless diving watch.
There are also trackers/watches from Amazon that are similar as well as the Oura ring. The Oura requires a monthly subscription.

I have a galaxy watch active 2 and it does what I need it to do. The apple watch sounds cool, but I don't have an apple phone

I had a Fitbit then a Garmin first. They're very basic. Then I upgraded to a Galaxy watch (when I had a Samsung phone) and now an Apple Watch (I now have an iPhone). Smart watches are so much better than the Fitbit. Mind you, they're also MUCH more expensive!

Thank you for all the input! I am pretty much done with the Fit Bits. I think I am leaning towards the Galaxy. I like the look of the Pixel but most reviews talk about how it doesn't hold a charge for more than a day. But I will keep researching. It sounds like the Pixel 3 will hold a charge longer but the price is not appealing to me. I want to get one this week as we have tax free week until next Monday.
Thanks again!
